gas mileage,standard features,engine,build quality
Weakness:
The car will happily accept the new improved power engines repordidly coming in 2002. Great car, reliable, good looking, great on gas. The combination of the previous comments makes this the best affordable mid-sized sedan available. Good standard features including cd player, power everything, outside temperature guage, etc. Fun to drive! Corolla 4-cyl
Strength:
compact but still comfy. seats are great. the wheel is fairly loose...the engine is loud.
Weakness:
car hesitates when accelerating fast. sound sytem could have been better. the cassette player got messed up quickly...the only thing i hear is BASS! and nothing more...no slight tint above windshield for the sun. nice, comfy fit. the engine roars (i like that) Similar Products Used: Toyota Camry 2000: camry is of course more roomy but the hesitation that i get with both cars when accelerating fast is a pain. i also own a 1989 camry LE V-6 and that car just goes when i step on the gas. i love it. |

Strength:
Satisfied with it--until we found out it burnt so much oil. The interior is wonderful, very large and comfortable. The cupholder on the backseat arm rest is a nice touch.
Weakness:
Burning oil. My parents bought a 2001 Toyota Camry, and to say the least, we are not pleased. It burns oil. At 2836 miles, it has burned 7/10ths of a quart. We contacted Toyota, and this is what they said: "I don't care." This is partly a rant on both the car burning so much oil AND the horrible costomer service. I feel people should know about both. It's hard to have one without the other. Toyota should provide quality cars and quality service. In our view, they have failed. Similar Products Used: Poorly. Extremely. |

XLE 3.0
Strength:
Engine (3.0), ride and durability/dependability. Truly a quality made car.
Weakness:
Suspension too soft for my driving style, power and torque band too narrow of a range, transmission (auto) should shift quicker to stay in the torque/horsepower band when floored. Great car. I love it. Everyone has honda accord and maxima to be cool. My camry is equally good or better I feel. I test drove all makes/models before I purchased mine. The engine is smooth, has power (above 3000 rpm) and it rides extremely well. Similar Products Used: olsmobile ciera, honda accord, nissan maxima, mazda 626 |

Camry wagon
Strength:
Dependability, holds the road. Enough power for almost anything even with a 4 cyl.
Weakness:
Back wiper doesn't wipe back breaklight. Unbelievable that Toyota doesn't make this model anymore. Elegant car that has good bones and class. The camry is impressive in ride, durability and comfort. As our 3 kids move into the teenage years, they are starting to want more room (we still use the jump seat in the back which has two shoulder belts but isn't really comfortable for anyone over 4'8"). Clients used to be very impressed with the car. Strangers at the grocery store ask if it is a new design of Toyota. Salespeople drool if we stop in at the dealership, but no, we never want to sell or trade. After 8 years and 200,000 km it doesn't feel "new" but it certainly feels great. Similar Products Used: Taurus (always needed work) |

Finally started to rust through about three years ago Best car that I have ever owned. I have driven this car for twelve years and it has never, never, never been in the shop for anything other than tires, oil and transmission fluid changes, brakes, timing belt change, and muffler work. Incredibly well designed and built can. Similar Products Used: Toyota Corolla, 1992 Camry. My wifes 1992 Camry definitely had a better ride but the 92 cost a lot more and required more maintenance. |

LE-V6
Strength:
Powerful and quiet V6 engine, fast acceleration, silk smooth auto transmission. Very smooth ride and little road noise. Strong brake.
Weakness:
Wind noise is loud when side wind is strong, could be due to aerodynamic design problem. Cheap workmanship and bad design for the CD-radio console, though the sound quality is good. Camry LE-V6 is a very good car. It is quiet and agile. Ride is very smooth and comfortable. Even the traffic is crawling into slow motion, I'm more relaxed in my Camry than in my old noisy Sentra. Riding in a Camry is so relaxing and it makes my driving style less aggressive. I remember when I was driving my Sentra in bad traffic, I was cutting lanes left and right all the time, because the loud noise drove me crazy. But you know what, there is still some drawback about my Camry. When the car was brand-new, the brake was too sensitive and the suspension was too floating, one time I had seasick after driving one hour to my workplace. Anyhow I still highly recommend Camry. Similar Products Used: Compare my Camry LE-V6 with my wife's 2001 Accord EX-V6, the ride in Accord is stiff and it is little noisier than Camry. The brake of Accord is weaker too. Accord's auto transmission is not as smooth as Camry, but it is much better than my old Sentra. The interior design of Accord is more beautiful and functional than Camry. Overall, I like Camry. |
