Strength:

it IS a nice looking car

Weakness:

every thing else about it, but worst of all. THE LACK OF SERVICE DEPT.

Owning this car is like dating a model, it only LOOKS good. i have had so much trouble with this car and bought it new. The treatment i have recieved from the "LACK OF SERVICE DEPT." has been horrible since day one. so bad, i dread it, and with this car, ive had to go often. i owned the car less than 6 months, went through a puddle in heavy rain, the sheet under the car came off, the manager of the lack of service dept. told me, "ITS A CAR, NOT A BOAT" good customer service. i drove a 91 stick for 5 years never had a problem, this clutch went in less than 2 yrs. i wrote and called everyone, was obvious the car was now my problem. i cant wait to get rid of this piece of crap that wasnt worth the money.

Strength:

It sounds cool, it looks cool, it's fast, fun, economical, and blue. Sadly, it's not my primary car--just a weekend fun car.

Weakness:

It would be better with a 5-speed gearbox. Sometimes I wish that it had another gear as I drive down the highway on a sunday afternoon.

I bought this car at a police auction in 1997 for $8. I guess I can't complain, but there's nothing to complain about. This car is FUN!! It goes from 0-60 in only 7.9 seconds, looks cool, gets 36 mpg in the city, and maxes out at 140. This car is also very reliable. I've had 4 oil changes, 2 tire changes, a clutch, and a few windshield wiper replacements. Other than that, it didn't need any work. Surprising for 194,000 miles, isn't it?

Handling, git-up-and-go (for a V6). Looks (inside and out)

Weakness:

Cannot turn on a dime. Not a good weather driving car. When going about 70mph very noisy, (weather stripping).

I bought my car and loved it. The only problems I have really had with it would be that it kept on overheating and had to get a new thermostat put in. The transmission has been vibrating for about a year and a half but still hasnt gone out. It has 125,000 miles on it and still runs like new! Its an automatic and still has a lot of git-up-and-go. Looks are terrific! Always get compliments on it.

Strength:

Fun to drive.

Weakness:

fast for a NA stock car, but, could use some kind of forced induction to keep up with the newer cars especially though pesky Hondas

Although I owned Toyotas all my life, this is the first Celica I owned. I bought it in April 2002 with 32,000 original miles. It is fun to drive and is pretty fast for a stock car. In fact my best 1/4 mile time is 16.9 @ 81 mph. As for the interior, the fabric was in good shape. No tears, no smell... I love it. The body is fairly straight and there is no rust...surprising for a Hawaii car. The suspension and brakes are going though... need to upgrade soon.

Strength:

Pickup speed; gas mileage is good for high performance engine.

Weakness:

Poor visibility in rear; windshield wiper replacements have to be purchased from dealer only and are crap.

Great car for price, but cheap parts on it. I had to replace tires at 27k miles and was told by Yokohoma that they were cheap tires. Also had overheating problems and had belts/parts replaced.

Weakness:

water to air intercooler, excelleration due to turbo lag, 3200rpm crusin at 70mph"makes a loud trip" could use a 6th gear. trunk latch

the celica is my first car, i have always been into fast import cars, and i didn't even know about the celica untill i first got it. this car is awsome to drive, especually when taking a 45 degree turn at 90mph with out evening feeling it in your seat, then punching it to 145mph with 8psi of boost and not feeling one bump on the road althrough i come to find out that i could of gained that speed much faster if my wastegate wasn't stuck open, also an air to air intercooler would definnitly improve it's cold air induction over its water to air intercooler mounted right on top of a very hot engine!, i am planning on installing a air to air intercooler and and bunch of other aftermarket mods to exceed 450hp. i test drove a 97 mitsubishi gtx which is a turbo all wheel drive, and it didn't even come close to performing as well as my celica, it's handling and excell lacked emensly. although i do like the way eclipses look, but there looks are decieving. the celica is a very powerfull sporty race car. i've owned it for just alittle under a year and it hasn't needed anything besides oil changes and a fuel filter. the clutch is stock and i'm starting to notice it needs a new one soon. oh and one more thing, this thing can fly through snow without loosing it's traction!

Wow, where can I start. This is the most gorgeous car I have ever laid eyes on, it drives smooth and is extremely reliable, the gas mileage is outstanding (I get about 36-40 mpg), heads turn at every stoplight to catch a glimpse at my celi...the list goes on and on...

Weakness:

Only one major weakness I feel that I should mention...three more years till she's paid off!

I absolutely love my car. My Celica has 52000 miles on her, but she still runs like new. I haven't had any problems with this car...mind you, I baby it unconditionally. Just keep a good set of tires on her, get the oil change and service regularly, and I assure you will have no problems with your Toyota Celica if you should decide to take the step and get one. The looks of this car...after more than a year...still sometimes take my breath away. The compliments pour in from everyone, from punk teenagers to little old ladies! The only extras I have on the car is the rear spoiler, the enkei accessory alloy wheels and fog lights. I wouldn't trade my Celica for anything in the world!

This 1995 Toyota Celica Convertible looks, drives, and handles like a brand new car, although it had 104K miles on it when I bought it. Engine, transmission, body hardware, interior, and accessories are all in mint condition and work perfectly. The manual transmission is both silky and sporty.
