Strength:

Good quality veicle, I have only had to do minor repairs on it even though the km's have now reached 212k.I highly reccomend this car!!

Weakness:

Small back seat, too small for my two large dogs.

I LOVE my car. It has great reliablity and is fuel efficient.I am thinking about selling it but the only reason is because my dogs don't fit well in my little car.

Strength:

well built! great engine, very low maintenance, never broken down is 7 years. Excellent paint, no rust or oxidization.

Weakness:

engine not as peppy after 200,000. At 6'2" not too roomy, especially in the back.

Overbuilt Vehicle!. This car has been through 6 drivers (3 teenage boys) and has 304,000Km. No major maintenance aside usual oil change, brakes and timing belt every 100,000. Still using original clutch! The transmission syncros (2nd and 3rd) are just about finished, but probably from the namy powershiftings and gear grinds. Engine still idles smooth and quiet, no knocks or vibration. Body still looks brand new, but ride is a little loud inside due to weather stripping.. not as tight as before. Excellent car

Strength:

Too cute No one will really know it's a Corolla unless you tell them

Weakness:

Add the basic options and this car costs $18,000.00 which is RIDICULOUS The car accelerates like my 1993 Cavalier and it is 10 years newer. Handling is iffy with the 17 inch tires (optionally) Toyota people seem a little pompous in terms of wanting you to buy the car that minute instead of letting you think about it for a day or two. ABS has to be specially ordered The HOT colors are hard to find (ie Indigo Blue seems like a factory anomaly in Alabama)

I am VERY picky. I have test drove the 2003 VW Jetta, the 2003 Nissan Altima (V6 and V4), the Toyota Solara (2003) and the Toyota Corolla S (2003) so I have quite a bit to compare the Corolla too. Last year, the Corolla would not have even been on my consideration list. This year it is being considered only because it looks like a tiny Lexus or BMW. Unfortunately, Toyota failed to realize that the acceleration needed to be upgraded as well. This car is too cute but it doesn't handle as well as a too cute car should handle. After driving the Ford Focus, I am become hard to please and when Toyota falls short of Ford there is a HUGE problem going on in the industry. The Corolla would be knocked off my list if it's reliability wasn't a 10 as compared to the Nissan Altima's likelihood of reliability.

Strength:

The enging is very quiet. I, personally, hate loud engines and I'm really impressed by how quiet the engine is. I also found the Corolla's interior to be the most comfertable when I was shopping for my car. (I tried out several other cars and just about drove the salesman crazy in the process).

Weakness:

none

I got the car used 7 months ago. Since then I have been driving it like there is no tomorrow and I've had no probelms with the car at all. It also did great on the emissions test.

Strength:

affordable; smooth ride; good gas milage; look sporty;

Weakness:

no arm rest;

I only use this car to commute to work. My selction criteria are reliability, cost, and performance. I paid $200 below the invoice price, but the dealer had to charge me additional $184 for a 5-pc floor mat. Overall, I think it is a good deal. (I beat my friend for a same year/model by $400) Performance-wise, this model is a bit underpowered. With a 130HP engine, I do not know why I got this feeling. But if I turn off overdrive control, it gets better and acts normal. The ride is smooth, on local and highway. I can go up to 80 mph without any problem. At that speed, I still feel in total control of the car, and no noise, shaking, or whatsoever. This Corolla has no surprise for me and I mean it to be a compliment - everything works just as the way it should be. A minor note: the air conditioning is strong, compared to Mazda 323, Honda Civil, and Accord, - much better, not to mention it actually works at 100 deg outside. Overall, cheap and perform well. I look forward to Toyota reliability.

Strength:

Surprisingly large trunk. Excellent interior finish. Great gas mileage. Instrument panel is easy to read. Controls are intuitive. Rides like a larger car. Automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The steering wheel has a nice feel to it.

Weakness:

Weak engine - it takes forever to get up to speed. Automatic tranmission has only three speeds. No center arm rest.

I needed a basic car that was reliable and inexpensive to own. This one had just over 10,000 miles when I bought it. It now has almost 70K, and so far, there are no problems - just the usual maintenance items.

Strength:

reliability excellent fuel economy

Weakness:

None that I can think of.

To date, 6 years (105KM) later, I have yet to have a problem with this vehicle. Aside fom regular maintenance, including spark plugs, wiper blades, oil and filter changes I have not spent a single dime! I changed the front brakes after 95KM and was surprised that the pads still had 1/3 left!!! The LE model comes with the 1.8L engine which provides better pick-up...especially when the A/C is on and there are 4 people in the car. I won't be surpirsed if I get the odometer up to 350,000KM!

Strength:

As one would expect, it seems to be quite fuel efficient.

Weakness:

For a car with less than 25 000 kms it had trouble starting at a temperature slighly below freezing after coming off of a four hour trip on the highway. It does not handle well because it is very soft. This car is noisy on the highway. The one that I drove was sadly lacking equipment such as cruise, tilt. How much sense does it make to produce a car with automatic transmission, keyless entry, power locks, CD, air but not tilt or cruise? The inerior lacks space, style and an ergonomically sound lay out for controls. I am familiar with other cars in this market segment, and this car does not excellerate very quickly. I am a person who is of average height and average weight and absolutlely no history of back pain. After an hour in the drivers seat, my back started really hurting.

I am so glad that this was not a car that I had actually bought because it was bad enough to tolerate one for the week-end. The car sucks. So did service at the rental company locally and the toll-free customer service line.

Strength:

-Lots of torque -Excellent Quality -Excellent Drive -Everything works great -Overall Very economical -Comfortable -Great highway car

Weakness:

-Cheapness of interior -Under par stereo system -Outdated style -Plastic wheel covers Nothing too worth throwing a hissy fit over

I've put a few miles on this car, about 15,000 or so and it's a great car. Never embarasses at a 4 way stop, and actually has quite a little jump for the price. The air conditioning is great and cools the car nice and quick, the seats are comfortable, a little bit cramped in the back but not too much. This model only comes with a 2 speaker stereo system which isn't the greatest, especially considering most competition comes with at least 4, even 6 speaker systems. No power windows either. A very quiet running car as well, with a rather smooth ride for the price. The trunk is a good size and the rear seats can fold down to put long items in the car. The look of the car is rather outdated, looks alot like some older civics, but that's okay because the 2003 has changed this entirely...Personally I think that the 2003 is rather ugly but whatever you think is what matters. I also dont like the plastic wheel covers on this car, a couple run ins with the curb and they have unappealing scratches all over them. Holds its own on the highway, can do around 110-120mph without any rattle and keep a rather smooth ride. Great for passing. Biggest downside is the cheap look of the interior, very plastic and cheap looking. Overall a great car, very satisfied, havent had a single problem what-so-ever. Very impressed with toyota, going to buy a 4runner

good seating position, not too high, not too low. enough power to have fun. great visibility, no blind spots really, comfy, big trunk

Weakness:

no ac in this one, kinda cramped, front wheel drive ;-)

this car was my uncle's he sold it to me for a buck cuz i needed a car and didn't have enough to buy one... this car has 401,000 kms on it and is still on the original clutch, the muffler hasn't even had to be replaced! i haven't driven that many cars but I am impressed, dispite the odd slip in the clutch and a rattling in the exhaust, this car works like a dream, so small and light and fast believe it or not! this one's a keeper...
