Weakness:

Bad visibility.

I was so looking forward to buying a Corolla. I waited for the 2003 to come out. They have totally changed it, it is now larger and similar to the Camry. I could hardly see out!!! I love the previous reviewers comparison of "driving a boat", that is exactly how I felt. I wanted a cute little car, not a big bulky one. The headrests in the front and rear are too high. I injured my neck trying to look back. I don't think the 2003 will sell that well, they should think of who buys their cars. I would suspect, primarily women. Only a tall man can see out of this thing. If you want a cute little car, go look at the Mazda Protege, it has all you want and more.

Strength:

long-wearing and cheap. Just saw one with 235K on the odometer. I have heard that they will deliver 300+, if properly maintained. Now you tell me... can you do better for $2500? Also, the design is very clean and timeless. My car is twelve years old, and it looks just as fine as any other car on the road. Truly a car for the people.

Weakness:

Well, unfortunately mine is an automatic so it's kinda pokey. But I have driven stick-shift Corollas, and they are much better with the giddy-up. Other than that, there really aren't any weaknesses. It's a car that doesn't try to be anything it's not. If you want more room, buy a bigger car. If you want sporty looks, buy a sports car. If you want to go off-road, buy a jeep. But if you're a guy like me with not a lot of cash to spare and you appreciate a quality machine, this is the car for you. Way better than a Honda. (let the warfare ensue!)

I bought my Corolla with just under 135k on the odometer. The mileage did concern me a little, but the car ran strong and my mechanic vouched for it, so I went for it. Now I know that mileage just doesn't mean what it used to, especially not on a Toyota. Sure, you will be faced with the normal wear and tear... brakes, alternator, etc... but when you're on a budget like I am these things are expected anyhoo. So, other than these typical sorts of things, the car has run like a top from the moment I drove it home. Starts right up, and runs clean and straight. There is simply no better way to spend your hard-earned money.

I had a Ford Escort once, and although it didn't really give me much reason to complain (I got 225k out of it before it got wrecked), once I got my Toyota it was all over between me and American made

Strength:

Lot of features for the price. Nice design (interior and exterior). Smooth ride (except for rocky roads (rear suspension)). Very comfortable and spacy.

Weakness:

Seems Toyota Quality is going cheaper. Less acceleration. Bad rear suspension.

Quite a nice car with a lot of features for the price...the new design is really more attracting than the previous model. I had Corolla '98 and I must say there's a big difference...it seems that like the 2003 has less acceleration and it's true that the rear suspension is not quite good. As for the quality, it's also true that it's declining from the past years. My Corolla '98 seemed to be built more stronger and less cheaper, never had a single problem with it, never a strange sound...as for the 2003, I'm starting to have all sorts of sounds coming from the dashboard like if things weren't fixed though enough. But I must say that it's very good car overall.

Strength:

quick little car. runs well, has toyota reliability. hell of a lot better than a Fiero, which is very lightweight and has horrible wet weather handling. (maybe thats why I crashed it twice in 1 month.)

Weakness:

Weak 105 horsepower engine. 3 speed Auto transmission provides little power. wheels are small and very fragile.

i really like this car. It looks good, handles well, and i am in the process of doing mods. A much better car than the last, and 1st car i had. A 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE.

Strength:

Performance is equal or better to anything else in its class while returning an extra 10mpg.

Weakness:

Hi cost, poor rear suspension. I have driven Toyota products for years and you can see the annual decline in quality.

Excellent on fuel if driven gentle it will give 50mpg(imp). It will also easily hit the 185kmph govenor.Rear suspension is poor as it bottoms easily with 2 adults unlike my88 Corolla which had excellent rear suspension.Have sccumulated 40000 trouble free miles in first year.

Ride, mileage, space.

Weakness:

Cup holders in awkward spot.

So far so GREAT. Very smooth ride. Unlike some, I am not dissapointed with the handling. The interior, to me, looks great. Fuel consumption is top rate, and it overall looks better than the previous models (lots of people seem to agree!). I''m thinking it will last forever!!

Strength:

I would say "strenght" is the Corollas'' best description. Toyota should be really proud of this model

Weakness:

They are very few. The seats is not as good as the could''ve been. Due to this a long ride might get uncomfortable in the long turn.

What a car! This is really something for those who want to own a both cheap-to-drive and reliable car. A true jewel.

Strength:

Very reliable. Still running and is great for around town.l

Weakness:

Not much power: sometimes I get passed by trucks (semis) going up hills, especially if I have someone else in the car with me. Corollas are now too expensive.

I bought this car several years ago. I lived in Utah and would travel back to my parent''s house in Ventura CA every chance I got. I was careful to drive it easy and to change the oil often. Now this car is still running and it has 267,000 miles on it. A towing company bought me a new tranny because they pulled it with the front wheels on the ground; I was being towed because I got two flats driving through a construction zone.
