Toyota Corolla 1.8LE
Strength:
Great engine with silent but nippy performance, interiors in wood/leather trim in a class of its own, lots of storage space, great headlight illumination, no rotten eggs smell as yet
Weakness:
1] Definitely requires careful handling to keep a straight line in cross winds - tall boy design may be the culprit 2] Thick C pillar looks great but impairs rear visibility 3] Suspension a little stiff - possibly to plant the car better at high speeds given that tall design See my first review for the details but a month now and I am thrilled with this purchase. Expensive to buy in India with over 70% duties but a great package much better than the US spec i noticed from comparing the LE sold in the US and the one sold in India. Strength:
like the new 2003 design and that's it!!!
Weakness:
That rotten egg smell ruined my pride in this car. Customer service is the worst when it comes to serious issues. They just don't give a sh*t! Well, I'm very disapointed in my corolla. It has an AWFUL, nasty rotten egg stench in the exaust. It's so bad that I can smell it coming from the AC while idling with the windows UP. Everytime I put my stinky car in my garage at home, I have to deal with the smell until it finally disapates about an hour and a half later. Customer service at dealer is not very nice and could care less about this problem. I want my money back and WE WILL take legal action if Toyota refuses to buy back my car, which I think they will. No surprise there! My husband owns a 2002 4runner and it is flawless, probably because it's a REAL toyota made in Japan, UNLIKE the corolla. HERE WE COME, HONDA CIVIC!!!! Similar Products Used: 02 4runner. Probably keep for a long time. Getting a Honda civic in the near future to replace this corolla. |

gives me 22 MPG ?!?!?! I have had this car for 3 weeks now, and I am going to sell it tomorrow. I know I am going to loose money, but I would rather ride a bike than drive this peice of s***. I havnt had any peace of mind since I bought this car, and just want to get rid of it as soon as possible ! Maybe itz just this car (not Corollas in general). Maybe I was taken for ride by the person who sold me this car ! I have heard about 30 day cars (which run for 30 days, and then show their true colors), but this is the first time I have owned something like this, and I hope that none of you guyz out there get rotten luck (car ?) like this. I had a lot of respect for Toyota Corollas, but this one has left a real bad taste in my mind ! I have already spent 800 dollars in the last few weeks , and now there is a peculiar sound coming from the engine bay. Man .... Im just totally tired ! |

Beautiful car sporty yet pratical best of both worlds. After being rear- ended in my 1994 Toyota Corolla at over 50 mph the crumple zone and frame on Toyota's are beyond words when My family and I walked away from what could have been a serious accident. My trust is with Toyota.
Weakness:
I don't care for the toyota service center. after owning a 1994 Toyota Corolla for 7 years I decided to upgrade I recently purchased a 2003 Toyota Corolla LE (why mess with perfection)It is a terrific car I love it and would highly recommend it. Strength:
1] Great engine performance with good pickup (even on the automatic) 2] Ful-efficient with about 10 kmpl in city driving 3] Comfortable with thoughtful bits every where and lots of storage bins
Weakness:
1] No Power Antenna 2] Would've liked more color options 3] Dodgy Panasonic OEM Stereo with no MP3 playback ( though it has FM/TAPE/6 CD in dash ) 4] Expensive in India when it should've been around $16,000 in the States. Just got the Corolla 1.8G ( Automatic ) this week and think it is going to exceed my expectations. Model comes with all leather+wood interior trim, power everything, nippy engine, thoughtful extras Similar Products Used: Daewoo Cielo GLX-AT |

Corolla LE
Strength:
Everything in this Corolla has been a wonderful experience everytime I sit behind the steering wheel (leather wrapped too!) No wobbles and the everything is fit with a surpreme elegant look.
Weakness:
There is none. Toyota has outdone itself with the new generation Corolla and there is virtually no fault in this vehicle. Except the fact that this has caused quite a number of stares at the fueling station where the fuel attendent asks how it drives and whether or not this was really a Corolla. It IS. This has got to be one of the best deals that you can get for a compact luxury car. The Corolla cruises effortlessly along the highway serenely and with a sense of poise, and it gathers enough looks at the gas station to make it THE bomb. Nice touch with the crome handles and my Corolla is the LE with the B-package meaning leather seating appointments and the luxurious beige leather look to the dash. Toyota hit a home run by improving the already powerful 1.8 L. engine from 125hp to 130hp and this automobile can cruise all the way from 0-130mph, which is quieter and faster than a Mini Cooper. I even took my clients out in the Corolla to dinners and it's manners were superb impressing the Mercedes C-Class owners for the fit and finish and the leather seating appointments. I've experienced no quality difficulties with this genuine baby-lexus product from a trusted and well known Toyota. Similar Products Used: Nothing much. I still own a Mercedes C-Class, a Lexus RX 300, and a Mini Cooper. (Nothing similar with the Corolla with it's vehicle type) |

room no glove compartment light WOW!!! the corolla is the best car I have driven for the price paid, and even out performs a lot of higher priced vehicles. I put a lot of km on my car, and it has done nothing but run efficiently and smoothly. One bad is the room space, but hey, nobody's perfect. I love Toyota! Weak radio/speakers In heavy rain the horn stops working, but when the sun comes out everything is OK. At 203,000 miles the 'Check Engine' light came on. It was a sensor on the exhaust manifold. No problem. I'll get it fixed some day. A car's most basic function is to get you from point A to point B. Everything else is style and comfort. With that in mind I purchased my first new car ever in 1991 based on reliability. It was a basic Toyota Corolla with 5 speed manual transmission. Since then I have changed the oil every 3,000 miles and the timing belt every 90,000 miles. Now, at 205,000 miles I am still happily driving away. Reliable? YOU BET! Even the air conditioner has kept cold in the hot summer heat of Texas for the last 12 years with nary a problem. The car's continued low maintenance has allowed me to save up for a new Corolla. That is if this one ever gives out. Similar Products Used: Datsun B210 Station Wagon Ford Fiesta |

Weakness:
center console too low for armrest, nothing other than that though. This car is awesome! Fast acceleration, great gas mileage, cruise control, and even tells you outdoor temp! I have driven it in the winter and summer in the Colorado Rockies, over loveland pass in ice, and on a tight, technical dirt road. Loved the handling, great purchase, no problems so far.
