Strength:
Tons of power from siple mods, im pushing 340hp at the rear tires. love the 6-speed
Weakness:
hard to get the power to the ground, stock tires and suspention lets most of the power get lost through burnout. not as much aftermarket parts around as the mustang you can make a camaro get 340hp from simple mods. cold air kit, high flow MAF sensor (if you cant afford the new sensor, take the screen off the stock one). a new Y-pipe is a must!! chevy bent the driver side pipe at nearly a 90 degree angle to cut down horsepower, so stock has unequal backpressure. if you have a auto, get headers, if it is a 6-speed be careful, the headers run close to the clutch and can overheat it and wear it out fast, use heatsheilds. after all of that top it off with a cat-back system. bypass the coolant lines that run through the throttle body (heat is bad!!) if you want some serous power (@ 380 at the flywheel) go for the lt1 to lt4 conversion (about 2 grand), and get your intake ported for a 58mm throttle body. Handles great.....good highway mileage..........chick magnet.......fun to drive......flowmaster and 3"pipes will make this baby sound loud as hell!!!! Great aerodynamic look...especially w/top down!! Great interior when you have all options! Still runs great at 138,000 miles!!!
Weakness:
Driving in rain or snow is like ice skating with only socks on........Convertible top leaks like crazy(I always find a pool of rain on the rear left floor) High insurance........repairs are costly...can't see past the dashboard...cops love me! I would definitely recommend this car........it rides great...looks great..chick magnet....fast.....fun and reliable! Although the convertible has been giving me a bit of trouble these days.....it is damn worth it in the spring when you've got 4 chicks riding with you with the top down!!! Camaro Z28
Strength:
The 5.7 Liter V-8 has a factory horsepower rating of 305. If you Dyno it though, you'll find it has about 285 to the rear wheels, which means it's got about 330 at the flywheel. Mustang GT's handle a little better, but nothing a set of nice rims, eibach springs, and bilstien shocks couldn't fix. With a nice set of ground effects, and a slick spoiler, the camaro becomes very sleek. Lower it with the springs, and it's pretty damn intimidating. Overall, nice looks and power are this cars strengths.
Weakness:
Exterior upgrades aren't as nice. You can make a new mustang look really nice with either a roush or a saleen body kit. Camaro's just don't have that, and yuo have to settle with boring ones. They make it look alot nicer, but just not amazing. The interior is a little chinsy in some ways.. but then again, so is the mustangs. Too much plastic, but nice shifter position and the guages look nice at night. If you want a car for the drags, get a Camaro. Don't get the v-6 model though, because they are an embarrasment. 200 hp v-6? Thats crap for something thats supposed to be considered a "sports car". I also recomend that you get a Z28 and not an SS.. The SS option is around $4,000-5,000, and it's a waste of money. With $5k, you can get a Z28 alot faster than an SS. Unless you just want the emblems and you can afford it. Very nice car, fast and respnsive. May not be a Viper, but hey, I've seen many that can smoke a Viper effortlessly after some modifications. Similar Products Used: Mustang Cobra. I would say GT, but they don't keep up as well. Like I said before, the mustang handles better than my Z28, but when an SS can take a Cobra easily, it doesn't really matter. I have been in one, and they are nice though. More boxy muscular look, definately good looking. And the 4.6 Liter dual over head cam engine sounds really nice, and picks up pretty well. |

Strength:
lots of power, power and more power. I like the interior. nice stereo system. Responds well to mods (filtercharger, shiftkit, headers, exhaust) chic magnet.
Weakness:
too much power; cannot drive in the rain, cop magnet. you will loose all of your friends that drive mustangs. I am 18 and the insurance is super high I highly recommend it this is the best car for the money. I know some people dosent like the interior but this car was made for gearheads. can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. Similar Products Used: 96 mustang cobra- this is way faster even with automatic. 1998 Jaguar xjr-not as comfortable but after the mods is a little bit faster. dad's 2000 corvette (modified)- no comparision (corvette has 450hp at the wheels. |

Strength:
Balls to the walls acceleration, great handling, has power off the line and in fourth, and God the ladies won't stop looking.
Weakness:
The seats dont recline and I have bad posture, can't seem to stay in seat during hard turns, and the police come like flies to rancid meat. I'd reccomend this for a couple reasons. First, it is one bad a$$ fine Americain made automobile. It's quick (never lost a race, and thats all Ido on the weekends), once your gone they are not catching you, unless they've poped 5-10 grand in mods in it. The looks you get in it are well worth it, everyone loves a hot car. For 4 grand I got a steal of a deal and have had offers for 10 grand. It's worth every last cent spent. A must for any Camaro lover. Similar Products Used: 1989 Firebird, 1969 mustang, 1999 SS Camaro, and a 1996 Chevy Silverado; the Camaro has better handling and lots more speed. |

Z-28
Strength:
styling, handling, power, price, driving pleasure
Weakness:
poor fit & finish, leaky T-Tops (avoid at all cost in every model) for handling, buy the Z, or be prepared for a basic grocery-getter type ride, or better yet, grab the '91 Caprice at a police auction for $2000, and you'll get a practical, albeit ugly 4-door sleeper that will last 500,000+ miles and still catch all you speeding Camaros(I'm SERIOUS). Similar Products Used: 73 Camaro RS was WAY faster, same cubic inches. '75 Formula Firebird with 400 c.i.d was slower ( only 190 horses- DUH) Ex-OPP Caprice Classic beat them all hands down with interceptor 350 engine, and room for 6 adults (plus the cops wonder if you're undercover *hehehe*) |

Z28 SS
Strength:
My 98 Z28 SS looks and drives pretty good. Nice hood, spoiler, and rims. titest black paint job. Pretty coo power.
Weakness:
This car sucks. No handling, no power to pull my a$$ up the hill(the car's too heavy) Interior looks as crappy as it feels. The interior comfort to me is rated 1 out of 5. This car was not as i expected. and it's not worth the price. Maybe for its looks but thats about it. Can't even see the motor when the hood is open. What else is there to show off if you can't see the mods on the motor. Looks good, but thats about it. I wouldn't have sold my 92 Mustang GT if I knew I was buying a crappy car like this. It has ugly uncomfortable interior. low horsepower for being known as the Super Sport Z28. I test drove and am buying an SVT Cobra. Looks better. Has the same amount of power but with the comfort of leather. Lighter body, better handling, sick a$$ wheels. Plenty of room under the hood for future mods. Plus it has a good pricetag. a little bit more than a 2000 Z28 SS but worth every penny. 320horsepower cobra with comfort and handling. thats what i'm about to get. As for the SS, nice car but over rated not under rated by its drivers that tell people its a good powerful car. Fact: its not as people rate it. Especially camaro driving friends who hate mustangs. I should have followed my own knowledge and bought a new cobra in the first place with the money i got for my 92 for down payment. Im the only guy in my group who likes mustangs. The rest of them are blind Camaro drivers who hate on stangs just because they know they're better in every way. Similar Products Used: 92 mustang GT. Supercharged, w/heads, intake, full exaust etc..paid over $6k on mods sold car for $10k. looks better. good power. unlimited power. products. chick magnet, panty dropper etc.. shouldn't have sold my mustang.. Test drove a 2000 Mustang Svt Cobra. Much better everything. |

Strength:
everything about a third generation F-body car. my grandmother gave me this car for my graduation present and i love it soooo much. even though the sports coupe only has a 2.8 liter engine it still hauls ass!! all i did was put new performance air filters in and put some octane booster in it and the horse power increase was substantial. you could notice it right away. i also made a fraud of it too; i put some z-28 ground effects and front & rear covers on. also i put on the iroc "grid style" taillights on. it looks really nice. anyone who has a camaro should have taillight blackouts. it looks sooooo cool!!
Weakness:
none. other than the falling ceiling. i hate that. i would definately recommend an f-body car to anyone. they have an ungodly amount of horsepower, they handle really well, and the girls love em! later on in the winter im putting in a 350 ci engine and upgrading my transmition. i dont know wether to put in t-tops or a sunroof though. but definatly a premium sound system is in order (hehe...) to all of you f-body lovers out there: rock on!!! and if you have any suggestions on where i can get some pretty cheap parts, i am always looking for some and it will be greatly appreciated. thanx!! Car moves like a rocket. Body is mint and I mean MINT. Brand new interior, auto shift kit, Fully loaded, looks great, stored since 1997, 350 LT1, 3:73 gears. Car was raced at Cayuga Raceway with a 409ci w/NOS.
Weakness:
Very miner squeeks, passenger window leaks, needs paint, needs Flowmasters, needs cd player and subs BAD. I would recommend a F-body car to any body. I paid $1000 for mine and the car was worth well over $5000. I haven't had the chance to race any of my friends yet because my buddy had a Mustang GT a month before I bought my car and ditched it. My other friend just bought a 98 Dodre Dakota ss 5.4L 5 spd. But I know that I'll whip him. Similar Products Used: Mustang-No compairison to the IROC. |
