Strength:
Powerful LT1 Chevy 350cid engine, great looks and styling, attention getter, the ladies love it! Haven't met a Mustang yet that can beat it.
Weakness:
Stock CD player rarely plays anymore, goes through lots of rear tires, insurance will kill you. This car is definately the best car I've ever owned. The quality and power of this 4th gen Camaro outshines the 3rd gens I had in almost every way possible. The car handles great and has plenty of power stock, but can be modified rather easily to lofty torque and horsepower numbers. The funfactor is great and I've gotten many, many compliments on it (something my other cars never recieved.) I've never had any mechanical problems with it either. Overall, this car is the best purchase I've ever made. Similar Products Used: 89 IROC, 89 RS, 87 GTA |

Strength:
Good handling, good gas milage, good interior space
Weakness:
About everything else. Very, VERY poor reliability, problems with everything. Very poor acceleration, especially for a supposed 200 hp engine with 225 lbs of torque! Noisy driveline, auto trans and rear end gear ratio made for a grandma car, not a daily driver or a SPORTS car! Very poor Chevrolet customer. Dealers limited by GMs wide acceptable spec. tolerances(which these specs. allow faulty parts to be passed as acceptable!). Dealers try to fix problems, but GM refuses to pay warranty work on an IN SPEC part. Stereo is distortion filled, even at moderate levels. Body is designed very poorly having front fender mounts where car lift hits and snaps composite. Dealer broke TWICE! This was different dealers. Went to 4 different dealers and none could fix or find unmistakable problems in performance. This was my first and last GM purchase for the rest of my life! After buying, I talked to others who bought this vehicle and had numerous mechanical problems also. They felt the same as I. A co-worker had a Monty Carlo that shared the same 3.8 liter. He had the same performance problems I had, but traded 2 months later. He had more money to lose than I. |

Camaro Z28
Strength:
Engine 5.7L V-8, fuel economy (highway), performance gotta love the acceleration and handling burns and out turns cars twice the price, styling is smooth, bang for the buck performance can't beat it, 6-speed (about 2200rpm@75mph in 6th)
Weakness:
build quality some of the interior components are loose, visibility is horrible (can't see the corners of the hood, windshield is slanted too much) some rattles, sound system is wack, cd player decides to work when it wants radio is great though, operating cost, not bad on maintenance but when something goes wrong be sure to save a paycheck, insurance (save more then one paycheck there) I really do love this car, it looks great, fast, menacing, reardrive, outstanding fuel economy for a 350 (29mpg highway). This car wants you to put it over the edge and then some, so why not =). It takes my hard driving with ease. If you want a car that will cross the street first and not shell out $80k for an NSX this is your car!! Similar Products Used: Civic, Prelude, Accord, Firebird |

Strength:
Great car, Price! Handles like a Porsche.
Weakness:
None to date. You cannot convince me that there is a better car for the money made. It out performs cars costing more than twice as much. It will whip the pants off any mustang on the planet. My personal Camaro will beat any car on the road. It has 400 horsepower and because of the Herb Adams anti-sway bars it handles even better then stock. This shows how well the car responds to hot-rodding. It is even still driveable, as it gets 23 mpg on the highway and 16 in the city. Buy one. Similar Products Used: Mustang |

Unbelievalbe power in a V6 (which helps out a lot with insurence). The look of the car is great with ground effects and teh t-tops. Increadable handling.
Weakness:
Havn't tried to drive it in the snow yet, but it fishtails somewhat in the rain, so i could only imagine... also my alternator gave out, but teh dealership was great about it and covered it under warrenty. Great car, lots of fun to drive... Similar Products Used: The only cars that look as good cost more than twice as much... nothing with a V6 can stay with it, and it can beat some V8's. |

lots of power, a newly rebuilt 305 V8, body in excellent condition interior and exterior, lots of room I'm 6' 5" and its comfortable to drive, GREAT all around fast car!
Weakness:
slides quite a bit in the rain, have to drive it differently than a regular car in the rain....snow its horrible, slides EVERYWHERE because it is so light great car especially for a teenager, the girls love it so keep the body in good condition and keep the thing running strong, show all those people with mustangs who's the boss, great fun but needs to be taken care of Similar Products Used: mustang-no comparison, the camaro is a MUCH better car |

Camaro V-6
Strength:
This car has quite a bit of snappy power for the 3.4 V-6. I also LOVE the Medium Blue Quasar color, it attracts many looks, no matter where I'm at. My car has every single option that was available in '94 (except for the V-8) including: Delco/Bose Premium Sound System w/CD player, T-tops, PW, PL, Power Mirrors, rear defrost, Z-28 sport suspension components, Z-28 premium wheels, and much more. This car is also very comfortable to ride in. It has smooth handling and an easy going ride.
Weakness:
THE DAMN THING KEEPS FALLING APART. All of the plastic parts on the interior are very prone to breakage. The rear defroster is a piece of crap. The windows are out of alignment and will probably never be right. The dealership is nothing bit a bunch of incompatent morons and tried to fix it but broke it even worse (the rear roller that keeps the window on track is now broken and will cost $275 to fix, which the dealership says they will not pay for) The brakes wear out really fast (partially b/c of my driving style), The factory CD player doesn't work if it is not between the 60 and 75 degrees inside the car. All together, this car is a good looking, eye-catching piece of crap. I wouldn't recommend this car. Go with a Firebird. They are a little more pricy but will pay off in power, reliability, and overall enjoyment. Similar Products Used: '97 Trans Am - Camaro didn't even come close to the T/A, '94 Formula - again, not even close, '94 Nissan 300ZX - OH MY DEAR GOD!!! this car is sweet. not even in the same realm as Camaro |

Camaro V6
Strength:
For a V6 with 200 horsepower, it has super "torque" in the rear wheels which means above-average take-off (extremely quick) from a complete stop. I regularly "smoke" Porsches, ES 400 Lexuses, Chryslers, Ford Mustangs, and any souped-up Hondas into submission. The only car that has ever passed me caught me by surprise when going downhill was a "supercharged" Pontiac Grand Prix which has close to 300 Horsepower, if not more. Even comparable BMWs don't want to play because they all don't have the "torque" to play! With all the new 2001 & 2002 (reviews) indicating that more cars will be fielded with 200-285 horsepower, I may have to upgrade to the Z28 or SS Camaro. I suspect, however, that these new cars STILL will not have the "torque" required to even come close to challenging the Z28 Camaro!
Weakness:
Not too much. Field of vision is not the very best. I've also learned to put on "ice" rated tires during Winter and to load 3 or 4 60lb bags of sand in the trunk to ensure equal weight distribution (front & back). The extra weight also gives extra "bite" into icy or snow covered roads. A side benefit (when the snow melts) is the extra weight (over the rear wheels) actually increases my torque and take-off speed. I also recommend performing a Major Induction service every 15K miles and not waiting until 30K miles. You'd be surprised what the difference it makes on fuel economy, quickness on starts, and overall car performance. Phew!! Most fun car I've ever driven so far. I feel as though I own my stretch of highway. Other drivers rarely try and take me on and, if they try, I put them all in their place by just taking off from a dead stop and leaving them a 1/4 mile behind in just a few seconds. I really enjoy doing this to the snobs that drive Lexuses or Porsches. Even highway passing is fun because you feel and sense this "powerful" vehicle just surge ahead of the pack with such ease. I've been smoked by new Corvettes but they have over 330 horsepower with outstanding torque and handling! Similar Products Used: Nothing I have ever driven can compare to my V6 Camaro. I can |

Handles VERY well. Took it through the mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee and I wouldn't have wanted to be in anything else. Hug the road through numerous curves. Great pickup. Very comfortable for a sports car. Love the t-tops and ground effects -- A REAL "LOOKER".
Weakness:
The only problem I am having is that twice a spark plug wire gave out. I'm told this is common. Otherwise, the car is a dream! GREAT CAR FOR THE MONEY. I purchased this car in 1999. It only had 15,000 miles on it -- looked "showroom new". Similar Products Used: 1981 Camaro Z28. I had this car for 9 years. Loved it -- it was my baby -- wish I would have never sold it. Likewise, I am not disappointed with the 1997 RS. |
