I dont know why alot of people knock this car. It is great. Confortable quiet and FAST. The stereo is not bad either. I got the ALL power options - power seats, mirror, windows, locks, etc. Too bad GM decided to stop making this car

Long Time to replace Spark Plugs Gas milage (being nice in all city can get 17mpg) Squeaks/Rattles

Well, it's small block chevy time again folks. Now I know there are people out there that will complain about domestic cars over imports. And here's my thoughts. These cars, just like any can be bad cars if abused. If treated well, they will last. I bought my car at 130,000 and I get better then factory gas milage, no oil burning or any problems. It was treated well. Likewise, a 20k car that was beaten will never stop giving you problems. But that's for ANY car. More specifically, domestics are known for squeaks and rattles. The camaro is no exception. When any part starts to go in the chassis or suspension, you can hear it. Replace it, it goes away. There will always be a little rattle here or there, and espicially the convertibles see some hefty chassis flex around high turns and rough pavement. It's a gas guzzling machine. But if you want one, you know that. It's not a 85HP/85TQ Hundai Accent. It's a 275HP/340TQ chevy. You'll see a lot of reviewers dissing this car because of the bad gas milage, which is it's one downside. You cant help it on highway and city driving below 2000rpm. It still is a v8. A turbo-powered car, or supercharged, will see better gas milage when not in use, but when IN use, will see better longevity and efficiency then forced induction. Boost is the replacement for displacement, but 14psi of boost will not net the same power as doubling the displacement will. Otherwise, GM has spent 35 years building the camaro, and even more on the small block chevy. They know what they're doing. But if you want cheap gobs of power, a good ride, though not mercedes, with a few squeaks, and good all around performance, this will please you. Also realize that work/service/parts on import cars costs more then domestics. For example, my Eclipse's 4 spark plugs & wires were $84, the oxygen sensor $150, and the timing belt kit was $280. The camaro's 8 plugs and wires were $65, Oxygen sensors ($30 each-there are 2) and serpentine belt was $55. Also insurance on equal performing imports is often 10-15% higher, due to costs of replacement and theft rates. In days of ebay and people doing their own maintence, the camaro is just as good a bet as an Eclipse. But realize that the camaro (stock vs stock) will be fast, cheaper, lower on insurance, but squeaker. You have to decide which one is for you.

Strength:

-fast -fast -fast -looks good -decent gas mileage for a v8 (seems more efficient than my v4 1990 grand am) -console is cool. -t-tops rule. -people like my car! -oh did i mention it was fast?

Weakness:

-dashboard too big -only one air vent for the windshield -transmission mounted underneath front passenger side causing a bump on the floor -does not seem to accelerate to it's fullest potential all the time. -doors to big and heavy -loss of control on grooved roads, but what can you expect from a v8 beast.

This car is really made for 3 things. Speed, acceleration, and looks. This is an american icon, no american citizen can say "what the hell was that?" unless the person is a pure dumbass. It is fast. Very fast. Car is still stock yet can beat many modified cars.

10 bolt rearend, 5 hour tune up

First off i would like to say,if you want slot car handling from an F body, you are going to have to spend a little extra money.but were are you guys trying to drive? if you are not a road racer why are you trying to take corners at 120MPH? this car handles like a dream compared to 70% of the other cars out there. i rarely ever see below 100 unless im in traffic. the LT1 is by far the easiest motor to modify, bolt on parts are everywere! it is so easy to get this thing above 330 horse. a pair of stickies and you are deep in the 13,s. yes this car is a daily driver, it is great in traffic, and mean enough to eat up all the jap crap, and GT,s.

-reliability(even at 130K!) -looks -factory exhausts are pretty loud

Weakness:

no cup holders, glove box. Dash still has that '80s boxy look to it.

My '92 RS has 130k on it but runs like new. I've had it for a few months now and all it's needed was an A/C condensor. It gets plenty of attention and complements even though it's 12 years old. Although it's only a V6, it still has some power. Not a spec of rust, anywhere!

Speed 305 TPI 5 speed manual posi rear end quarter mile ET: 14 seconds STOCK!!! Handling is superb Stock exhaust is Loud overall great car

Weakness:

Chevy had problems with the paint peeling on the third generation camaros and mine is. That is the only weakness. Oh, oh!!! Better get Maaco!

I have had the car only a month and already put a grand into it because I know it is going to be around for a long time. I love the car! 0-60 in 6 seconds is not bad for a stock 80's car. I will continue putting money into this speed demon because it feels so good leaving stangs and rice burners far, far, far behind me. Completely stock it is a fantastic car, add performance parts and you'll have a beast no one wants to mess with.

Horsepower/Torque T-roofs are great for letting the wind blow through my mullit. Looks great parked at my trailer.

Weakness:

Very, very poor build quality/reliability. Poor gas mileage. Vintage 1970 suspension/platform technology. My trailer makes anything look good. Bugs get caught in my mullit with T-roofs off.

This car is a piece of crap. The interior rattles & sqeaks. The engine burns/leaks oil. The suspension has less sophistication than a K-car. Performance is great until you realize that that great quarter mile time just sucked up $40 gas.

Now own 1999 Integra GSR which it twice the car. Driving this car gave me the self esteem to cut my mullit, get a job, and move out of the trailer park.

Raw "in your Face" Horsepower!! With 320 of them just Inches from your right foot, what more could be said. The LS1 is one of the Best Engines short of the LS6.

Weakness:

Many, but Minor. Noise, converter hump on Passanger-side, warping front brake rotors, Cheap plastic Interior, weak Chevy 10 bolt rearend, big heavy doors, slow power windows, unibody construction (flex), Live rear Axle. Over all, this is more Chevys fault then the Car. This Vehicle is Big and has a lot of power for it''s design, which Chevy did not Take into Consideration. Now, Once these Minor Flaws are Observed and Corrected, Its a great car

Lets get this One out of the way, This Car Is not For for Everyone, it''s a muscle car, Nuff said on that Issue! 0-60 5.0sec Standing 1/4 in 13.5sec at 107mph. Fuel Mileage is not bad 18/27 great handling at .87g in stock trim stopping is excellent at 129ft from 60mph Comfort if second rate in a car like this. You feel every Vibration from the road. Suspension is stiff, but not bone jarring.
