I can only afford one

I've driven my 92' vette coupe over 130K miles and loved every minute except for the two automatic transmissions and water pumps that i had to replace. I started looking at the C5s several months ago, drove severalof them and even two 2003 Mustang Cobras. One drive in this Z06 was enough. WOW! The step up from my 92 is amazing. I can't imagine a better car.

Interior looks a little cheap for this price tag. To much plastic... Stereo will have to go. Need powerful sound system with the top down and going 100 mph, plus.

It gives me a whole new attitude and lifestyle. I feel young and rejuvenated. It's an automotive work of art, like Architecture. Every head turns no matter where I go! Especially with the top down. Truly Exotic!! A three-hour drive seems like 45 minutes. The "Theory of Relativity", time flies when your having fun.

This car is simply amazing. Beautiful lines, awe inspiring power, corner slicing handling and brakes that could stop a freight trane. I keep reading about these morons who say the car is cheap and doesn't perform as well as their own cars. The morons in question have a funny tendancy to compare the mighty vette to say a porsche 911 gt2(a mere $187,000) or an Nsx (for the low low price of $83,000) First off, I would wager that not a single one of these ball-less pussies have ever sat in one of these cars let alone own them and drive them. And secondly, a vette would light an NSX on fire any day of the week. The vette not only meets the performance of much higher priced exotics, it surpasses them. And as for Honda idiot or whatever his name is, any Honda that has ever attepted to race me and my 99' vette has abrutly gotten their ass handed to them.(That's for you Hondamoron) The vette will dominate any and all pansy jap cars now and to come.

Entry/exit difficult,hard to find parts for engine

The 1991 ZR1 with its DOHC 375hp V8 engine is a blast to drive! Using a G-Tech meter, I was able to do 0-60mph in only 5.0 seconds and cover the 1/4 mile in a brisk 13.1 seconds. Not bad for an 11 year old car! At the heart of the beast lies the Lotus-designed 5.7L DOHC V8. Its appearnace alone would make many people oooh and aaah! An interesting feature of the engine is it ability to limit its full horsepower. How it works is that there is a keyed-switch on the lower left center of the dashboard labeled 'engine power'. When the key is switched to 'normal',only 8 of the 16 fuel injectors,1 venturi in the throttle body,and the primary fuel pump are used. When the key is switched to 'full',the throttle is 'floored',and the rpms sweep past 3500,all 16 fuel injectors,an additional 2 venturis in the throttle body,and a secondary fuel pump all come into play. This makes for one sweet sound and boosts horsepower from 225 to 375. Its amazing! It's like a small shot of nitrous. The ZR1 not only differs from the base Corvette in the engine but also in the suspension,brakes,and body. The Zr1 has the FX-3 ride control system. This is a user-adjustable suspension controlled from the interior that can adjust the effectiveness of the shocks. There are 3 modes-tour,sport,and performance. In tour mode,the car rides fairly soft but does not handle too great. In sport mode,the ride is stiffened up a little,but it's not too harsh,and the handling is very crisp. In performance mode,the ride is stiff and the handling can be a handful over bumpy roads. The rear end tends to skip over the bumps. I find that the sport mode is best-suited for driving on the street. The brakes on the ZR1 are 13" front rotors with the 2 piston PBR calipers and 12" rear discs. The rear wheels are 17"X11" and sport 315/35/ZR17 tires. The rear quarter panels have also been widened by a total of 3" to accomodate the bigger wheels and tires. The performance capabilities of the ZR1 were unmatched in its day and today it can still hold its own against many of the worlds finest sports cars. Doing 0-60mph in a average of 4.7-5.2 seconds, covering the quarter mile in an average of 12.6-13.4 seconds, and averaging a 175mph top speed, are numbers that alot of sports cars cannot lay claim to. Truly, an incredible vehicle!

Speed and control. The torque curve is sustained. Comfortable and all controls accessable.

NONE - but I would like to see the return of the 32 valve engine used in the ZR1.

I have been fortunate enough to own a lot of Corvettes and by far this is the best of them all. The ZO6 is much faster than the ZR1 that I have. It corners better and handles better than any Corvette yet.

I BOUGHT A 93 VETTE/LT1 ENGINE WITH ABOUT 64K MILES ON IT. JUST HAD REGULAR MAINTENACE DONE TO IT. CHANGED WATER PUMP AND HOSES. OVERALL HAVE HAD NO MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH MY VETTE. ONLY MINOR PROBLEM IS THAT BRAKES WEAR OUT VERY FAST.
