Strength:

It''s America''s #2 Sports car.. It generates insane jelousy in the likes of vagrants like The Honda Man..

Weakness:

I don''t own a whole parking lot full of them....

This is to offset the untrue reviews by the uneducated wannabe''s like HondaMan who do not even posess a drivers license. Keep on dreaming Honda Man... We know when you grow up you wanna be a civic driver! I see things listed like poor handling, gas milage,weight.. Get real you bunch of un educated loosers. The C5 routinely gets 30 MPG in 6 speed trim, meets Cali LEV Low Emissions Vehicle standards, weighs in at 3250 for the coupe 3150 for the Z06 and I don''t call that "heavy" but I guess when you compare a real car to a tin can like the Honda S2K... A tin can with a tin can 4 cylinder on the verge of explosion. Reliability? I have had 2 warranty issues with this car in a years time, the one issue was a rattling drivers side mirror caused by the 8" MidBass driver in the door. And the other complaint is a "rocking" drivers seat. GM is well aware of the driver seat problem and they are redesigning a new seat track to cure this. The mirror problem has been taken care of. P.S this goes out to all of the ballless posters.. If your going to post here and try to lower the review ratings by telling a bunch of stories. At least have the guts to post your real email address''s you loosers.

Strength:

Handling, styling, price. Nothing can touch it for this price

Weakness:

Interior could be a bit fancier and I would like a couple of more vette symbols like on the floor mats or a nice one on the sides of the car.

This is my 2nd Corvette. (Red coupe--what other color is there?) My first was a 2001. Awesome styling and it goes "where you point it." Power all the time. HUD is great and information center with tire pressure, etc. is good. Stereo sounds great to me. Has 350 HP. (was upped from 345 in 2001). Has performance handling and performance rear-end packages.

Strength:

Power take-offs at any speed. Eye appeal. Attention getter. Very roomy. HUD is great at night with the dash light dimmed out. Handling & road noise is excellent with Michelin Pilot tire swap. Gas milage. 20MPG avg. with my heavy foot. Intoxicating engine/exhaust note.

Weakness:

At times I have to make a concious effort not to keep noticing questionable interior build quality. Though rattles seem better than my previous Vette. Less interior noise would be appreciated but not mandatory.

2001 Millenium Yellow Automatic. This is my 2nd Corvette roadster. My 1st was 1993. Nice improvements on space, comfort & power. Getting groceries is much better now, as is going up the coast for the weekend. I upgraded the the stereo by adding a two 8" subs with amp in the available rear cubby/storgae compartments. When enjoyed as a whole package & remembering that it''s a high performance sport car, this car is great fun. BTW these two vettes have been my only sources of transportation for about 5 years.

Strength:

Very good acceleration

Weakness:

Handling in wet and dry conditions, old-fashioned styling, too noisy, fuel costs, brake performance

Maybe it would be better if the engine would be regenerated. The acceleration is very good but the handling is very poor. The brake performance should be better and the exhaust is too noisy. This car is not very expensive and thats the only advantage. After 3 months I buyed a Porsche GT2 and it''s my love.Bye bye Corvette.I prefer my Porsche 911 GT2 and no Corvette can race with me:)

Strength:

Performance, both handling and raw power are world class. Best brakes in the world. Large trunk, good gas mileage. For a 2 seater, lots of room inside.

Weakness:

Interior components could be of higher quality - I would pay an extra $1,000 for the car to get this.

I am not a "Corvette nut" - I drove every two seat sports car made before I bought this car. There is simply no comparison between this car and ANY car that costs less than $100,000 (i.e. 911 Turbo). Cars in the Vette''s price range are like toys compared to the C-5. The competition, Boxster, Honda S 2000, BMW Z3, etc. are not even close.

Top down evenings in Colorado in a magnetic red C-5 convertible. Does it get any better? Sure, my BMW 540i 6 spd is classier, and it can carry more than 2 adults. My Audi allroad is significantly safer in the winter. I''ve had 7 corvettes in my life, from a 65 stingray to this new convertible and although I dabble in other sports cars - German and British, I always return to the US. Granted, even though the press has been raving about the C-5 for several years, there are several cars with comparable performance yielding greater quality, confort and reliability, but they exact a heafty toll. Everyone knows a vette. Everyone smiles and waves. Even my wife who insisted that only teenagers or grown men wanting to be teenagers buy vettes, has grown to appreciate the Vette''s styling.

V-8 Torque and Horsepower, Attractive looks,

Weakness:

Cowl shake with targa top removed, 1 to 4 skip shift with 6 speed transmission ( I disconnected it)

This is the fourth Corvette that I have owned and I still smile each time I drive this car. I was very lucky to find this car several years ago (1999). This was a one owner car with a 6 speed transmission and only 15,000 miles on it. I use this car for pleasure only and is driven mostly on weekends when the weather is nice. My wife likes the car but had me test drive several others. After all was said and done, I came back to the vett. My personal opinion is that for the money, this car can not be matched. I have owned a 93 300zx twin turbo, this car had turbo lag( even though it had two smaller turbos to prevent this) and I did not feel confident with the handling of the car even with the suspension set to sport. It was a great touring car. The vett still attracts alot of attention when it is driven. I have owned many different cars over the years and I will only sell this car to move up to a C-5 vett. Used C-5's vetts are still demanding a high dollar at least in Southern California. I bought a new vett coupe in 1994, the car listed close to 40k with the way it was optioned. I purchased this car for $31,800. I was assigned overseas in the later part of 95 (in the military) and I was forced to sell the car. I sold the car for $25,000 with 10,000 miles on it. Just this month I looked at a 98 coupe with a 6 speed with 40,000 miles on in it and the dealership wanted 36k for it and the car already had wear signs on the side of the drivers seat and there were other cosmetic problems as well. Many people complain about getting in and out of the vett. I am 35 and it is not a problem for me. I have to admit that the C-5 is user friendly in this area. Eventually I will move up to the C-5 or the next model Vett when it is produced but even if I do, I belive I will always have a C-4 model vett in the garage

Strength:

Looks, handling, fun to drive.

Weakness:

Brakes, for some reason if i slam on the brakes it doesnt lock up at highway speeds but the brake light will come on while the pedel is pressed hard, then it goes off. I have inspected all brake compoenents and they seem fine. Does anyone know why this happenes? Please email me at robert.pelletier@unilever.com if you have any info. It worries me that i wont be able to stop fast if necessary. Other than that i can think of no weaknesses. I recommend an early year C-4 for anyone who just wants a vette for fun at a low cost.

Always wanted a Corvette but did not want to make the investment in a new one or as a primary car. Got this one for only 5600. It is a very clean example of an 84, the first year of the C-4 styling. Although it had 93,000 miles on it, it seems to have been well taken care of. Upons getting it i put new rubber on it, and change ALL fluids. It has the Doug Nash 4+3 transmission and the Crodd Fire Injection syste. with the Z-51 suspension. Although many have been harsh on this 1984 setup, mine performs flawlessly. I love the car so far. It is in such excellent shape i hope to keep it for years to come.
