DESCRIPTION

The Mustang has been redesigned for 2010. Fresh new sheet metal wraps around an updated interior, giving the icon a more modern look and feel.

The Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8. The 210-hp 4.0L V6 carries over unchanged. The 4.6L V8 receives an increase in power - producing 315-hp for 2010. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a five-speed automatic is optional. Strength:

Very quick, very fast. Controls are all in reach. Easy in and out.
Scared people when we took it for a ride, Didn't realize how quick it would get to hi speeds.

Weakness:

Stiff on harsh roads. Clicking sound form a relay somewhere under car.
Flat wide tires follow road...too closely..will tend to move over a bit on ramped roads. COPS WATCH THESE CARS ALL THE TIME!!!!!!

Ford did a sh**ty job on the paint.. Dealer has re-toucehed and placed on
Teflon sealant. Looks nice now. Stereo is very clear. Will definately
upgrade this AFTER the warranty expires.

Strength:

The car has great gas mileage and feels great on the open country roads with the top down! Built really well! Easy to find parts and maintain the performance!

Weakness:

I Wish I had a 5.0 engine. It is a bit tricky to drive in the rain or snow.

This is my first purchased car, but after driving many of similar cars, I can say that it is a great buy. A lot of people complain that mustangs are lemons, but all they need is the proper care and they can run for a hell of a long time(its a shame some people never take care of their cars and then have the nerve to call it a dud). My car has 75,000 miles and runs smooth, I always check up on it. This model is equiped with a 2.3 Liter EFL engine, and the acceleration is enough to take on most cars (only with a stick shifter)- just dont expect to be in the lead forever. Once the tops down this car becomes the center of attention! The instruments and the interior are straight forward and well built. The trunk may be small, but I have nothing to complain about, its not like I expect to move furniture with it. It can sure cruise the open country roads, and I am glad I am behind the wheel when it is out there!

Model Reviewed: LX 2.3L

Strength:

Great car, very dependable, no breakdowns. Bought this car used, 2.3 has a lot to be desired, 4-speed manual has to go. Plan to pull the 2.3L this summer and slap in a 5.0L with T-5 tranny and an 8.8 rear end. Very light body, prefer to get an 85 or 86 model and put the 5.0 in, guarntee low 14's stock.

Weakness:

No cupholder
2.3L sucks
Trunk Space

I love this car, great design, cheap mods, body is ready to accept the 5.0L. Car handles like a dream. If you ever see one, pick it up, they are getting few and far. Great for a fast street/strip car. Parts are a dime a dozen. Easy to do the 5.0L conversion, costs about $2000 to fully beef it up. Will always be a Mustang owner.

Strength:

acceleration, easy to mod, 1 of a kind exhaust note, mach 460 system, panty dropper, head turner, get tons of respect in the streets/strip, and that torquey 5.0.

Weakness:

live axle, stock top end, underpowered compared to the camaro and firebird of the same year.

when i was in the market for an affordable sports coupe/car, my only choices where either a fbody or a mustang. Of course i went with the mustang. Looks, comfort, better build, and the unmatchable aftermarket for the 5.0 are some of the reason why i picked it over the camaro. The aftermarket support and the cheapness and availabilty of parts made up for the power dissadvantage. I've bought the 95 last year and have owned the 90 Gt since 95. Both cars have been very reliable and have kept me very happy :) For the money you can't go wrong. Trust me.

very smooth compared to other sports cars, nice stock stereo, very fast, easy to work on, not bad on gas for a V8, convertible doesnt leak, shifts strong, powers strong, no problems yet, people stare at it

Weakness:

id like to sit lower like a camaro, backseat sucks,

I would reccommend to buy a mustang but I definetely wouldnt buy a V6, i test drove one and they are very slow i owned a v6 camaro and it would blow a mustang cpe away but the gt and cobra modls are very nice.

Strength:

Still a favorite amoung american muscle car lovers. Cheap to fix. engine, driveline pretty much bullet proof. Add some upgrades and watch those crappy corvettes and camaros eat your dust. I always have to laugh when your under $10,000 mustang eats up $40,000 vettes. All Mustang owners get along great and I have met alot of new people because of the car.

Weakness:

Those frigging punk kids in their jap crap Hondas trying to race me all the time. The good news is they always seem to have money to lose when you race them for cash$$$$ :)

The car has been kick ass. Between racing clowns on the weekends and all the runs at the local drag strip, I have never needed to carry a screwdriver or nothing. Being a Ford mechanic, I can appreciate a reliable car. Unlimited potential for modifications. I love setting off stupid car alarms with the kick ass exhaust downtown or in parking structures. Gets alot of attention.

Strength:

Fast, gets looks, chicks love it, everyone wants a ride, not to hard to work on, nice looking, great room in back for speakers, very easily modified.

Weakness:

Not great gas milage, everyone wants to race you, terrible legspace for people in back seats.

Great great car. My first car too. Gets looks, compliments and everything. Even if its an AOD and getting old, its still very fast compared to most other vehicles out there. I love it. Keep em clean and maintained and they won't break down at all. I'm always going to own a Mustang. I've never had any major problems (except for failing waterpump and alternator). Go buy one, you'll love it.

Don't waste your money on newer cars or imports. For the equivalent costs, you can make any Mustang have 400 RWHP. That doubles almost any import out there.

Strength:

Fun car to drive
Great summer car, especailly in Southern California in Summer
Best v-6 compared to Firebird and Camaro

Weakness:

Stock Tire don't last

I got my 2000 Mustang Convertible as my first car. I had test driven the firebirds, and Camaros (v-6)and after that i understand why the Mustang outsells them both combine. The mods that are avaible for me v6 are incredible. I did have some doubts about getting a 6-banger instead of the 8 until i got a supercharger. The supercharger added close to 125 horsepower and 140 rear wheel torque. Instead of paying the 3,000 difference and higher insurance rates get a six, and it lasts longer. I love my 6 cylinder ride. It would ok by me if i had to get another one anytime soon, but i thing in the future i will be looking at the SVT, and Saleen S281 models.

Model Reviewed: Mustang Coupe

Strength:

This car runs silky smooth. My friend that generally drives European cars, said it was unbelievable for an American car. I have to admit that I am fairly impressed given that Americans jumped on the bandwagon so late in the quality race. I have to say that the looks of this car are just incredibly sexy. It is laser red with a white stripe at the rocker panel. It gives it a very retro-Mustang look. For a V6 car it is very torquey. I beat an 80's 'Vette off the line, totally destroyed a late-90 Civic EX, but was beaten by a Mitsubishi GT3000 SL in econo mode. It is fairly easy to work on and most of the mod parts are cheap. It runs like a champ and I would buy another Mustang in the future. And for a sports car it gets good mileage: 21-22 in town and 28-29 on the highway at 85mph. Also the front seat is comfortable for long drives. Great stock stereo. Good view of the road.

Weakness:

Interior rattles. No back seat room. Terrible in the snow. I slid all over the place in barely an inch of snow. Some sort of oil leak at the spark plug. Head gaskets blow out(haven't yet). Plugs foul quickly. No traction lock. Not enough power. No dual exhaust from the factory. 200hp will be enough. Any more would be like giving a monkey a loaded gun...

I have been very happy with this car. It is smooth and the mileage is as good as my Japanese econo-box. Sadly it is about as fast. This car is also more strongly built, and there is a fairly large aftermarket if you know where to look. COuld be a capable road racer, or SCCA car with suspension mods. I always wanted a Mustang and when I totalled my Honda, my parents pointed this car out to me. It is absolutely beautiful. I don't know if it is because it is mine, or what, but it is one of the best looking cars I have ever seen. The lines are clean, the stance is aggressive. I would buy another one if I could. I got this fully loaded cheaper than an unloaded Japanese car with more miles. Fords seem build pretty tough cars, but have a reputation for having poor quality (though they have improved considerably since 1983 with introduction of Statistical Quality Control and the Methods of Deming). I am very pleased with this car and plan on keeping it for as long as I can. Wouldn't consider a Camaro, even if they are faster...nothing else is a Mustang!

Similar Products Used:

92 Honda Accord DX. Sadly, these two cars about as fast. The Stang gets off the line tons faster, but lacks in top end. I bet it will hold in an acident better than a Japanese car. Ford F-150 5.0. About the same speed, but the Mustang is better made. 99 Honda CR-V. I have to say that the Honda 5-speed transmission in this car is out of this world!! You just have to look at the clutch to shift, it is that sensitive. I wish my Mustang was that smooth. Mustang is much faster, and is better looking.
