Ford Mustang (2010 and older) Sports

DESCRIPTION

The Mustang has been redesigned for 2010. Fresh new sheet metal wraps around an updated interior, giving the icon a more modern look and feel.

The Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8. The 210-hp 4.0L V6 carries over unchanged. The 4.6L V8 receives an increase in power - producing 315-hp for 2010. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a five-speed automatic is optional. Weakness:

Small back seat. Limited front seat adjustments. small trunk, weak heater in cold weather

Great car in good weather, many options in modifications, very inexpensive to service and repair(if needed!),will always be a great looking and runing car. I love it.
My car cost$7000, it had 85K miles on it,and it was and still is in excellent condition

Strength:

Good power, easy to work on and up-grade, lots of potential,
great handling and value for an inexpensive sports car

Weakness:

Head gasket will generally go at about 70-75k miles, LX models will not hold their value like a GT or a SVT Cobra

I've had my car for almost two years and am extremely happy wit it. I have had only one major problem occur, which was fixed immediatly. For the money these are great cars, and have a lot of potential to be modified beyond min. specs.

It was not a bad car until it developed an antifreeze leak (by itself). So a $10 gasket needs to be replaced... Oh, but we have to take apart half the engine to get to it. That'll be $410... Oops, the antifreeze leaked into the engine and ate it. That'll be $3,500. Sounds like a defective part or design. But you're past 36,000 miles so Ford won't do anything about it. So we're stuck with a $3500 paperweight unless we fork over $3500 to turn it back into a $7000 car. We are no longer a happy Ford family.

Strength:

Good handling. Decent power. Nice appearance.

Weakness:

Uncomfortable for long trips. Awkward headrest and cupholders.

Overall this is a pretty sporty and fun car. Aside from a few minor engineering issues it's a solid choice. I like the looks of the car otherwise I might have gone with the faster Z28 for 1998.

Strength:

Great power, cheap to mod, very reliable engine

Weakness:

tranny is not the best in the world, will break when modified

Mine still runs like new 11 years late, its an 88 LX 5.0. Only prob I have ever had was it needed a new heater core and a new wiper motor after 11 years thats pretty damn good! My tranny has started to go though, but I also have started moding and racing the car. A good replacment is not too expensive.

MACH sound(CD,AM/FM,Cass.),17-inch alloy rims, Leather Int, Fast, all stock. Chicks dig it. My dream car.

Weakness:

Gas, insurance but hey who cares!

I've only had it for under a month but no complaints yet. A 1995 muscle car with no history of engine trouble, and better yet I got a 3 year/30,000 mile warranty on it.I love my Pony. With no modifications, this car's MACH sound and low profile makes it a perfect cruisin' car. Wait till I put some flows and some 20's on it." Ever since I got this car my pu$$y rate has just gone up, I get more pu$$y from police ladies..... errbody be giving me pu$$Y"

Model Reviewed: Mustang V6

Strength:

This is an awesome car!! I love it! I came from driving a 1979 mustang. There is NO comparison! It's a 5-speed, so i has some power for a V6. I love even the simple little things such as the cup holder and such.

Weakness:

The only problem that I have seen with it is that on a wet road, it peels out very easily. Other than that, I havent seen anything else wrong with it.

I would definitely recommend this to anybody who wants a fun car to drive, and a fast car without insurance being too high. This is the main reason for my not getting a GT.

Model Reviewed: V6 Black, sprt appr pkg.

Strength:

Strong acceleration.
Comfortable interior.
Great looks.
Chix dig it.
Folding rear seats.
Good sight lines.
It's no V8 GT, but the V6 with 193 bhp is no slouch either.
RWD.
The price!

Weakness:

The cupholders!
The shifter can be a bit notchy.
Backseat space.
Solid rear suspension.
Cops love to pull over Mustang drivers.

I love my Mustang. Sure, us V6 owners take a beating from time to time from the purists, but the '99 upgrade eases our pain a bit. It's a strong car. It accelerates well, handles as you would expect a car of it's size and weight to perform, if not better. The interior is decent enough, not gorgeous by any stretch, but not a Honda either. (Has anyone told Honda car interior designers we're not in the 80's anymore?) It's comfortable, and roomy enough for a 6'2" guy like myself. However, just assume the backseat doesn't exist - 'cause no one's gonna fit back there anyway. Another thing, chix dig this car. They really do, there's no denying it. It's looks are still quite stunning even after being on the market for almost three years. The inherent oversteer that RWD drive brings with it can really be a blast at times too.

As for gripes? The cupholders!! My god, who was the moron that thought this up? Anything bigger than a coke can and it gets in the way of the shifter, which is incredibly annoying. The shifter's also a bit notchy it could definitely be a bit smoother. The parking brake feels likes it's gonna break at times, but it keeps pluggin along. And if you buy new, you're going to have to adjust the clutch pedal - factory setting is *way* too high. I suppose the glove box could be a bit bigger, you really can't fit anything in there without it getting in the way of the latching mechanism. The single bar solid rear suspension can be a pain at times, at other times it adds to the excitment. Be prepared to have her ass-end slide out quickly over things like train tracks and whatnot, nothing serious though, and she'll bite back quickly, but be aware.

General concensus? You can not find another car that will deliver the bang for your buck ratio as the Mustang does. It's fairly cheap and performs like a demon while staying comfortable enough for everyday driving. Another advantage...You know those retards with the Civics and Integra's? You know who I'm talking about, they've got the exhaust extentions installed? So some ungodly sound that has no business eminating from anything remotely resembling a Civic or Integra spits out the rear end? And that's the only mod, other than a few stickers and headlight changes? If you're fairly certain they haven't added a turbo/supercharger it'll be a walk in the park for your Mustang. Don't get me wrong, no company in the world builds better customer engines than Honda, but the Stang will put those cars to shame. Oh, and you're going to love blowing away those goddamn annoying Sunfire GT owners who think their car is just mindblowing and utterly amazing.

And one more thing. If you live in the Northern climate as I do (just east of Toronto, Ontario) don't be overly concerned with people going on and on and on about RWD in the winter and specifically Mustangs. I don't have ABS or traction control on my model and I do just fine. You have to know yours and the cars limits, and work within them. If you've gotta downshift into 2nd pushing the revs up to 3500, go ahead and do it if it's going to save your frontend and a trip to the bodyshop. Stay calm, and keep your wits - she'll get sideways quite a bit, throw in the opposite lock and she'll bite back. She'll step out under acceleration aswell, you don't have to lift off a like a complete goofball only to have it snap back in anger, ease off slightly and it'll come back to you.

Anyway, long story short - buy one, you'll love it.
