PURE THRILL! If you are a shy person and long admiring stares from strangers make you feel uncomfortable then get over it because that is what I had to do and that is exactly what you will experience in this car. You might also want to keep a sponge handy to wipe off the drool left behind by admirers.
Weakness:
I was surprised to see there was no clock. Visibility is very poor when backing up. Be prepared to roll down the window & stick your head out when yielding onto a highway or interstate or else you might get run over. Trunk space is limited, but what do you expect..this isn't intended to be the family u-haul. You might be surprised as to how much you CAN fit in that trunk as I discovered today on an out-of-state shopping trip especially if you have a packing-genius in the family like my mother. Be prepared to pay more than sticker price due to the law of supply and demand. I called 6 dealers before I even found one that had an S2000 on their lot. Most dealers I talked with had a year-long waiting list of buyers who had already payed a deposit on a 2001. The day I located one, the dealer had just got it in. They were asking $37,000. The MSRP is $32415. I bargained them down to $34,685 and that was as low as they would go. They knew they could profit more from the next eager beaver who came along and fell in love with the blazing red beauty, so I considered myself lucky. I was willing to be on a waiting list and pay a deposit if I couldn't find one. Imagine my excitement when I did. Similar Products Used: 94 Honda Accord LX sedan |

Confidence "feel" when you are driving it. Excellent brake! Enjoyable sound and driving dynamic from the engine growl to 9000rpm and suspension that has the least amount of body roll.
Weakness:
Carpet and sound system can be better (relative to my other 96' LS400). But at $34K (I paid extra to dealer), it is a bargain package. $34K. Similar Products Used: Porsche Boxster-S and BMW M Roadster. |

If you can find any let me know!! First of all, I would like to tell people not to compare this car to a Miada because it is nothing like it. I received a lot of money from my Grandpa's will and wanted to buy a viper but after getting a ride in the S2000 I was head over heels for this car. Not to mention the viper probably wouldn't make a good everyday car. Do now I just need to pick a colour! This cars gets my attention how about you? Similar Products Used: There is nothing similar |

Closest thing to a race car.(Critcs such as Tsuchiya Kenichi,Suzuki Aguri and other GT race car drivers say so,so despite never driven a race car it must be so) Power to Weight ratio is awesome. X-Frame chasis is amazingly rigid, none like it. Mind boggling RPM. Mine is a 250 HP version and this means that it is 125 horses per liter. I don't think Ferrari matches that number. Any stupid, wait I take that back, even an Idiot with a capital I could drive this car, it is extremely user friendly. Price, some people in Japan have said this is an expensive car, well see how much an equivalent European car would cost. One of the most sophisticated engines I have ever seen. I think it is so far ahead of its time that 10 years from now, people will finally understand what it was. The drawback is that 10 years from now, no one will be able to fix it since it is so far from the ordinary. (Equivalent to a Ferrari 250 GTO of the yesteryears) I could go on and on about this car but won't bore you.
Weakness:
Suspension is okay, not the best ride. Taut and hard are different. This is hard. Rains a lot in Japan so the open top would not be my first choice. I hear a coupe is coming out so I may trade it in. Horsepower is good, but torque is okay. I hear that Honda will continue to work on this car and I hope they will increase the torque. Probably one of the best cars available on the face of this ugly planet. Paid a lot for the European cars and they are worth it but the Honda is really special because NO OTHER CAR COMPANY WOULD EVER THINK OR HAVE THE BALLS TO MARKET A CAR WITH A 9000 RPM REDLINE AND BACK IT UP WITH A MANUFACTURER WARRANTY EQUIVALENT TO AN ACCORD OR A CAMRY. If it weren't for the S2000 I would not buy a Honda because I truly believe that Toyota makes cars that last longer, and safer. I am moving to the States soon and will buy a car and as much as I think the S2000 is good, I will probably get a Toyota. (A friend of mine is a photographer who takes pictures for the cops at the scene of a accident and even he has said that Honda cars are pretty flimsy.) but I still think Honda is great for having huge balls to pull this thing through. As for looks, I don't think the looks are all that great but the EVOL 5 is so ugly that it makes the Honda look good in comparison. For the price, I don't expect it to look like my Diabolo or a Modena. Overall there really is no car like it and 10 years from now, no one will be able to fix it because it will be so special! Although I will buy a Toyota in the near future, I hope that Honda will be able to stay alive in the future years when Toyota INC. and Daimler-Chrysler try to take over the rest of the automotive world with Tercels, Lexus, A-Class and the S-Class, becaue cars like the S2000 give people dreams of driving fast and looking good. All in all, the car is a very nice emotional statement which says that at the core of making cars, the heart and soul does count; and that despite people blaming the people of my country to be copy cats and souless, the Japanese still do understand that attitude with the right mind is something everyone seeks. You can see that by reading the reviews on this car. Similar Products Used: I don't own any rwd, 2 doors but do own several sports cars. Compared to the Porsche 911, well the Porsche is a Porsche and I hate to admit this because that thing cost a fortune but I think the Honda is a better all together deal. Compared to the Evolution 5, my current legs, well I shouldn't compare because it is a 4wd, 4 door, turbo charged full blown monster sports car. But just for the reference, the Honda is a lot of fun in the mountains spinning the engine. The Evol 5 is an all weather monster which has very very little to offer in terms of finess. It is agile but the torque is so huge that you get a high from it and won't care about anything else. Can't compare it to the Diabolo but if I must, Diabolo is expensive, loud, mechanical. While the Honda is cheap, quiet, and electronic. |

Weakness:
A lot Not as quick as I had thought. I have heard 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. I don't think that is even close. I would say high 6-7 second range. Interior very cheap. Not the car it is made out to be. Drive it for yourself. Make your own judgement. Similar Products Used: M roader- Has a ton of power. |

Rock solid chassis rigidity. Precise shifter, Great seating position;low and snug in beautifully shaped seats. Howling engine above 6000 RPM [and the resulting leap forward]are exhilarating. Only Honda with its Formula 1 history could have produced this unique car.
Weakness:
Still looking. Maybe the lack of storage, but I didn't buy it to haul stuff. Paid $35,000. Would like to have gotten it for sticker, but I couldn't wait any longer. Similar Products Used: I have had 2 Miatas for the last 8 year or so. The Miatas are light and athletic-lots of fun. This car solid and smooth- it inspires confidence. |

Weakness:
Lack of storage, small fuel tank This car is perfect for Southern California. I drive mine with the top down almost all of the time. The power is incredible, although it takes a bit of an adjustment to get used to pushing it up around 9000 RPM. The only thing better than the power is the handling, it grips the road very solid. Very predictable in hard cornering and very graceful, neat recovery from slides. The frame is very stiff, more so than any hard-top car I have driven. You really must drive this car! I paid 34,500 for mine at a (only 2K markup) in L.A. I had to look a lot to get that price. |

Superior handling, power, and feel. Pure driving pleasure.
Weakness:
Unforgiving to inattentive drivers (i.e., nitwits). Storage box unuseable while driving. Carpet goes all the way up to center console (should be leathered covered--customizing mine just that way.) All weaknesses really insignificant when overall satisfaction is considered. Wow! Pretty much sums it up. Superior power, handling, road grip, and comfort. Seats hug and hold you so much better than the M3 roadster. Powerful, right up there with the Boxster and the M3. 9000 rpm lets you be more playful and creative as a driver than the M3 or Boxster. Grips the road far far better than the M3, which is why I went with the S2000. It's a sports car, make no mistake. If you can't live with a two-seater and the low rumble of a 240 horse, don't get it. However, if you like to drive, there's no better ride on the road in my opinion, including Audi's A4 & TT, BMW's Z3 & M3, or the Miata. Only the Boxster comes close in my opinion, but that's $10K more. Highly recommended. Similar Products Used: BMW M3, Audi A4, Mazda Miata. |
