Strength:

A good responsive 3.0L V-6 with turbo, a bit conservative while driving at low speeds, but if you punch it you better hold on. Exterior is very nice looking and so is the interior. Handeling is very good and the suspension can be adjusted with a push of a button for Sport/Luxery mode-> NICE WORK NISSAN! shifting with the 5-speed is an ease.

Sounds like a V-8 from inside. ( With turbo )

Re-sale value.

Weakness:

Gauges need to be re-styled, maybe like an SVT COBRA one's which is one of my favorite cars. A ram air hood will defently give the car a little more "Attitude" sort of like, Don't mess with me or I will bite you.

Expensive, this one cost $45,000

Not made anymore!

This is my friends car that I took for a spin one day after a gettogether dinner. Superior engineering, excellent performance from the 300 HP powerplant, seem to be reliable, gets alot of looks.

Way more reliable than muscle cars.

defently better investment than a C5 corvette, alot of aftermarket parts to bring it to 400-500 HP.

For those with performance and styling in their mind, this is defently something to checkout.

fast as hell (wish it was a turbo though), Handles like a dream at any speed, does some awsome 180's, great for power slides, has amasing power in any gear.

Weakness:

can't find a worthy competetor to race, it's not a turbo, too easy to get pulled over.

I love this car, it's sporty, fast, and i look reaaly good driving it. plus chicks dig it. I think that the men who designed this car should be given saint status. there is nothing i can't do in my fairlady.

I can beat out anything on the road. I love seeing Hondas and Acuras with all their thousand dollar modifications try to front my stock 300Z.

Weakness:

Trying to push it into first while going 10... you have to be at full stop. Wish I had bought the Twin-Turbo so I can beat out those Twin-Turbo Supras easier.

This car drives like a dream.

Looks (the body, not the chicks)
Responsiveness/handling
Cockpit-like guages
Comfort
A dang fun car to drive

Weakness:

1. I can't think of any, except that I MISS THE NAME DATSUN
2. The design of the 2004. Nothing would make me buy that! I'll just have to take care of the one I have. Or get another one and take turns driving them with Annie. (My Chow.)

I have wanted a Z since the first one came off the line when I moved to California. I have watched the body styles change slightly over the last 30+ years and never fell out of love with my "Datsun". Had an '85 Maxima which was a mover and as close to a sports car as I could get when I was married. But...that was then and this is now. I've owned a huge old MBenz tank, and driven a Ferrari 308 Dino for several months to and from work. I think it was an '82. Yes, boys, it moved and could slap your head back against the headrest getting on the freeway but once in traffic--there was nowhere to go! Talk about cop magnets. I NEVER went over 65. I worked the swing shift at the newspaper and wanted to whomp it on the way home but they'd hear me coming and sure enough, halfway home a black & white would cruise up beside me, stay (admiring, of course) for a mile or so then speed off.

I've had that happen with my Z a couple of times on the way home after midnight but so far haven't gotten a ticket, even though I cruise at about 70mph. I love the way she handles and believe I was saved from a sudden pile up because of the car's responsiveness. It was like we were one and I barely had to think before the car was doing what I wanted it to do. She kept steady and I believe saved me from serious injury. I watched two lanes turn to buning rubber and in the rear view. This car's more than I ever imagined. She's a keeper.

I haven't had expensive repairs so far, my mechanic hasn't found anything wrong and he works on his share of exotic cars.

Love the natural leather int. The seat felt like it was made for my body, the first time I got in it. I love the way this car responds to my foot on the gas (do need to get the revvs up to really feel the power, it's true).

My boyfriend bought a '95 black Mustang with the 5 litre engine about a month before I found my car. He complains about his car, now and says mine is so much better to drive. One can feel the solidness and quality. My Chow Chow likes it, too and she's always in the driver's seat. It might be that Asian influence.

Now, I haven't noticed that my car is a chick magnet like so many of you other Z Daddies, even though mine is the color of pearls. Well, I guess you could say this car is a chick magnet after all, it belongs to a soon-to-be 55 year old babe who's driving a 30+ year dream come true.

This is a car for those who know who and what they are and don't have any reason to prove it. With that comes a kind of quiet 'knowing' and when the time comes for power it is there, within us as well as under the hood.

Ferrari 308 Dino-The Z is not as fast and doesn't have the throaty roar of a Ferrari, which I thrilled to every time I got in it. I was constantly downshifting just so I could hear it.)but is infinitely more comfortable. The Z is a "sweeter" car.
'85 Nissan Maxima-same size engine-with a lot more on it's chasis. Nissan continues to make an excellent automobile and I will continue to buy them

Strength:

Styling has to be the top strenth. The Mustang, Firebird and Camaro don't have the eye appeal this car does. The car even without the turbos is very fast and handles like a dream on dry pavement.

Weakness:

Wet weather driving can be a bit squirrelly. The car responds quickly to a lift off the throttle and reminds you to be careful. After Market parts are becoming a rarity, except at Stillen.
A serious draw3 back I have learned to deal with is the lack of a good manual on the car. No-one (Haynes, Chilton or others) makes a repair manual.

I'm going to keep mine, so I guess i'd reccomend it to anyone looking for a reliable sports car. The repairs to the non-turbo can be done by anyone with prior mechanical knowledge. The price of even the used cars prevents this from being a first sports car for the young adult. I wouldn't put a teenager in this car.

My wife had the 1997 Firebird and went on to the 2001 Firebird. I don't enjoy the power or handling I've always gotten from my Z-cars. I have owned a 1982 280ZX, a 1985 300ZX and my 1994 convertble. I traded a Dodge Stealth TA (Twin Turbo) in on this non-turbo and don't miss anything but the all wheel drive in wet weather

Very fast, no body roll what so ever. Very dependable. Looks great on any day!
Lots of modifications to improve performance.

Weakness:

Expensive too fix, parts are hard to find.

You have to drive one of these cars to really appreciate what they really are. They are probably the best sports car of the 80's. I don't think too many others will handle as well as this car does. If you have the chance to drive one do so, you won't regret it. Parts are sometimes hard to find and expensive but I guess what parts aren't. It's seems whatever you are looking for is never in stock anyway. Oh yeah, the T-tops are great also.

A True Modern Day Classic Japanese Supercar, timeless body design, a real head turner, it handles like its on rails, 222bhp N/A, or 280bhpTT, T-Top roof, an awesome GT Car, Looks wild with a Veil Side Spoiler Kit!!

Weakness:

It costs alot to fill up with gas, but if you can afford a car like this, you can afford to fill it up, its a little on the heavy side, but the weight displacement makes up for that, Original Nissan Parts are expensive. My Power Steerings just started to play up and its gonna cost me $600+ to fix it, oh well.

I Have owned my '91 Nissan 300ZX 2 seater swb n/a version for a year now, i've loved this car ever since i saw it in a car mag when i was 13 years old back in 1989, it looked soo futuristic back then, but today the body sill doesnt look out of date, and if you have a close look at the new 2001+ Toyota Supra the front nose looks almost like a copy cat of the 300ZX nose, the car handles incredibly well, especially on a tight and twisty road, always brings a smile to the face, can be a bit of a handful in the wet with the rear wheel drive, but thats all part of the fun of owning a true sports car with rear wheel drive :), dont even think about getting an auto, and besides a true sports car doesnt have a back seat or auto trans, the t-top roof is great during the summer, i paid $18K NZ for my car back in June '99, now you can pick them up here for about $12K, but thats usaully for an '89 2+2 auto with high K's, good ones are still around $17K, The ZX was still selling here in New Zealand back in '96 for $99,600 for a brand new one, Overall a great car, with stylish good looks, and Road and Track Voted the 90 - 96 ZX one of the top 10 Cars of the 1990's, i've driven alot of sports cars, MX5's, Mitsi GTO's, Batmobiles, but the ZX felt the most stable on the road, and the cabin is just great for 2 people on a long drive, the drivers side feels like the cockpit of a jet fighter, what can i say, i just LUV my Z!!!

My god..This car is one of the best sports car you can get in the market for that price. With leather interior, t-top (great fun to feel the wind), power seats, incredible A/C (you freeze to death when you turn it on), the slick smooth design, and so many more...
Also you can add sooo many stuff to it...I am adding keyless entry, may be body kit in the future (700 dollars) and many more items...it is fun to play with..makes it better to have friends around that have the same car..driving around with walky talkys...have fun everyone!!1

Weakness:

The repairs can be a little expensive but totally worth it..
Also the breaks are not the greatest.. but with good care they will not cause problems...

I only had a problem with the emission test..for the ones out there I have couple suggestions...fill up the tank, put a bottle of CRC emissions formula, drive it and empty the tank, fill it up again, change the oil, drive for about 20 min, go to the emission place, (do not turn off the engine), make sure the engine is hot...you are good to go...
if it does not work..good luck everyone...

best car i have ever come across hands down. the interior is superior to any car ive seen in its class even for new cars. Ive done auto detailing and have seen the interior of almost every car out there,
the Z rules.
