Strength:

Faster than most cars, comfortable, stylish, beautiful!

Weakness:

Interior heats up, sort of bad on gas, maintenance expensive and so is insurance (HAS to be because people want to steal ''em)

I love this car!!! Very comfortable, ergonomical, eye-catching! This car is almost 13 years old (prod. date 4/89) and people ask me if it is new. Mine is in excellent shape. It has 131K on it and it still runs strong. I want to always own one.

Strength:

The power, the loaded features, body styling.

Weakness:

As experienced in my two previous 300ZXs, I had bad front end-problems with the cars. I''m afraid to think I might have the same problems with this car over time. The reason for this is because of the front-end pulling to the right. It may be only a small problem new tires will correct. The rear end road noise is louder then in a normal car due to the fact the tires are right behind the seat back.

I love the styling of the 300ZX. This is the third one I''ve owned. After owning a 86'' model, I upgraded to a ''91. After owning the ''91 model I wanted a ''96, the last year made. I bought this car March 2000 with only a mere 15,000 miles on it. As of Sept 2001, the car just rolled 17,500 miles! It still smells of new leather. If anyone is interested in this car, email me. I''m considering selling it. I have a Chevy truck as my main vehicle and am wanting a new truck!

Strength:

looks, handling, room for groceries, chick magnet :-)

Weakness:

poor visibility to the sides, always attracting attention

The 90-96 300ZX is the best overall package I've seen in a car. It has looks, handling, and power, but still has room for groceries and a passenger.

I've wanted one of these cars since they first came out in 1989, and driving this car has been like a wish come true. People are constantly asking me questions about the car, and giving me compliments about it.

Performance has been covered pretty thoroughly by all the other reviews, but I basically have 2 comments. First, the handling is the best I've ever seen, with no detectable body roll or understeer. Second, the power available above 3500 RPM is simply frightening by my "enthusiastic amateur" standards.

The only downside is the amount of care a thoughtful owner needs to put into it. It can be quite nerve-wracking to try to make sure it's safe when in public parking lots and keeping it out of bad weather.

Gas mileage is marginal. I normally get only about 250-300 miles per tank. But with this kind of car, I guess it's to be expected.

Strength:

Acceleration, these things are so fast. Handling is good but put some 17" wheels on it and WOW the difference is night and day! Looks well nothing needs to be said here. Reliability very good. Everyone stares at them. Steering just the slightest input to the steering wheel and the car moves!!! it is so nice and responsive! Brakes, well 60-0 in 132 feet means that you can stop on a DIME.

Weakness:

Not made anymore. 5 speed tranny is weak, the syncros. ANY repair cost.
rear visibility, i kinda like the envelope size veiw from the rear view mirror. PRICE man these things have gotten way up there. BUT the used car market is a gold mine with these things.

Now I have driven A LOT of different cars including all the cars above, as I used to work for an exotic car repair shop! Aside from a Porsche 911 turbo there is nothing else that delivers the driving excitement that these cars give you.Not just in acceleration but in overall driving. they are SO well balanced in every aspect! But the 911 is a car you have to know how to drive it is NOT a forgiving car. The 300zx makes up for driver error, try letting off the gas in a sharp turn in a 911 and you are gonna meet your tail end real fast. The 300zx is very predictable. Not that these cars are not fast, they are! But the supra, vette, and a few other common cras you could encounter edges them out a little. But these things are very upgradable 1600.00 will get you 400 HP just like that! chip exaust and intake and you have an everyday driver, reliable as hell and 400hp!
I am now on my second 91 twin turbo first was a yellow and now a black one!
I am at stage 4 on mods and have upgraded the wheels and brakes! These cars are absolutly the most incredible driving cars!
Well these are great cars if you are an enthusiast driver! I recomend anyone to drive one or at least ride in one. It is a very impressive car!
I paid $12,500 for a 91 tt with 73k on it.

Model Reviewed: 300ZX Twin Turbo and NA 300ZX

Strength:

Greatest sports car made so car apart compared to Skyline GTR, very reliable, excellent acceleration, incredible handling, great brakes, sounds and looks GREAT. The shape of the 300ZX will never go out of date. Gets LOTS of attentions.

Weakness:

Its a cop magnet. You cant stop talking about the ZX

Dont have a 300ZX at the moment, but I've drove my mates 500hp! 300ZX TT quite a few times and my cousins NA 300ZX. You can kill yourself so easily if you're not careful. With the Turbo ZX running at 1.5 bar(round 21psi), too many modifications to name its still extremely reliable considering its his daily driver. With 0-100km in less then 4.9 sec guess theres not much you can say apart from the fact its one great car. 300ZX is also ultra responsive to mods, you can easily get nearly 100hp just from the exhaust and air filter change. And most importantly, chics love it. ;)
The NA 300ZX is also quite a great car, but only lacks the performace of the turbo ZX. Iam in the market for a Turbo 300ZX, its my next project car, after driving these too 300ZX, i just fell in love with this car. Aim is to make a 500+ hp 300ZX.

Model Reviewed: Nissan 300ZX Convertible

Strength:

The cabin is quite comfy. Seats although firm are very supportive and the inhabitants are given a lot of room to work with. Interior cargo room is pretty good. The convertible does present you with a trunk big enough to put a major trip to the groccers in it. With 222hp and weight about 15 pounds per horsepower this vehicle moves nicely along the road. Gearshifter is well positioned and fun to use. Purrs and whines like a true sports car. Stick firmly to the road and tail swings out with a flare of fun and then whips back in. Fabulous braking system.

Weakness:

The glove compartment is sort of small. 0-60 takes about 7 seconds. Severe cowl shake. The convertible top was a bit of a problem and so are the position and range of the headlights. When driving on a highway the radio does not compete well with road noise. Defroster does not work so well on the front winshield.

Think you can fit $100 dollars worth of grocceries in that vette of yours? Have the urge to feel the need for speed? Need to fill that want for a handsome and practical sports car? Want to own "Japans first-ever supercar." ? If you have said yes than this it. The price for it however might make your breathing a little shallow since it runs around 45K. Personally I believe it is worth it. I believe it is true. In the not so distant future people are going to realize what a mistake it was for Nissan to take this beatiful sport car of their list. Perhaps even they will ressurect it. If they did that people would be lining around the corner. But still what a car they made. Beautiful and stylish as well as large.

Similar Products Used:

Chevy Corvette might be a bit faster. The SLK by Benz and the Z3 by BMW do not hold a candle to such a finely built Nissan sports car. Truely if ever you want to buy a sports car this should be your first. Because like they say, you always remember your first and last.
