Fast, this thing rocks. I have a non-turbo two seater w/ only 62000 miles and it is an automatic. The tranny slows it down a little, but it still rocks, especially once you get up to high speeds. Getting this was a dream come true, and I love it. It handles great, has a strong engine, and looks sweet especially for a 11-year old design. They are just plain an AMAZING deals, especially for well taken care of used ones. These things have a reputation for being fast, just wish I had a five speed
Weakness:
Auto Transmission has been known for not lasting too long. It seems slow at low speeds and so you need to rev it high for decent acceleration, but this is probably because of my 4-speed auto tranny. Sweet, I just wish i had a five speed for more low end punch, my auto tranny seems to eat up a lot of power. But it a great car, and reliable, especially without abuse. Excellent deals on used ones. True sports car is all I can say. Similar Products Used: I haven't driven a lot of sports cars, but it rocks compared to ones i've driven. My old car was a Grand Am and it was nice, but the two don't even compare. I think it beats all similarly priced cars hands down, especially if you deck it out. I had more fun driving my 300Z than a Jag XJ6, but that's two different classes of cars, so I can't compare the two. |

Very fast! It has great acceleration for a turbo v6. Very fun to drive, and the looks of it are stunning, a real head turner.
Weakness:
About the worst car you could own during the winter. Does not get around good at all in snow or ice. Expensive parts and repairs. All in all this is a great car, and I would buy another one in a second. You have to drive one of these cars to appreciate them. I strongly recomend trying one of these cars out. It worth it! Similar Products Used: I have raced many cars including many new and old style Mustangs, and Camaros including a Mitsubishi 3000 GT, and a brand new BMW, and believe it or not but I blew the doors off all of them in a 0-60 race (stoplight starts) which surprised me quit a bit too, because it is a older car. But I also modified my engine a bit for increased speed and horsepower. The only car that sent me home with tears on my face was a new twin turbo 300zx. WOW those are vast! |

Strength:
Superb appearance, excellent interior, safe handling, great comfort, reliable, ease of routine servicing compared to previous model, thoughtful design features, timelessness of styling. Very good instruments (ie not digital)
Weakness:
Lack of a service manual. Some very bad blind spots to the rear/quarter. Easy to ground front of body. Nissan have stopped building the z32 and the new model due in 2002/3 is not nearly as appealing. Would like a voltmeter and oil temp gauge. The first time I read a review z32 in the press, I wanted it! But here they cost about $70000 US (in 1990), so I've had to wait 10 years for an affordable car. They have kept a high secondhand value here because they have been rare, but Japanese S/H cars are now imported into Australia, depressing the price. My car is an original Aus delivered car, with 135000 kms on it.I am caught between the need to ration my kms strictly so I can keep it as long as possible, and the sheer addictive pleasure of driving what must be one of the all-time great sports cars (even though it doesn't have a "European Classic" badge on it). I would strongly recommend this car to anyone who is attracted to it - it looks like it can deliver, and it can! Similar Products Used: Have owned 7 other Nissan/Datsun Z cars, plus 5 Skylines, over 25 years. The ZX is better than all the other Z's I've owned (3 260's, 2 280zxs, 2 300 zx z31's |

Strength:
The car is unbelievably fast. Great acceleration. Looks unbelievable. Other than the fact that it has no CD player, the interior (with digital and power everything) looks nicer than many brand new cars under $30K. For a rear wheel drive fast acceleration sports car, in handles beautifully in the rain.(better not test my luck!)
Weakness:
Heard it sux in the snow. Im afraid to pop the clutch or drive it to fast too often, because labor on the car is tedious and costs a lot. The digital dash sucks becuase it only goes up to 99MPH. If your going over 99 and u get pulled over, your gonna loose your liscence any way so i guess it doesn't matter, but its still fun. I love the car. It handles great in the rain and on sunny days, the t-tops give it that look that says im better than u. I love it when people ask me what kind of car it is, and when i tell them they have no idea what it's capable of so i show them, and the eyes bug out and the mouth hits the floor. It's really high tech for an 86, and i would recommend it to anyone who live in a non-snow climate. Only draw back is my girlfriend hates it because she sees it for what it is: A super fast sports car that tempts me to rip it up everytime i start it and hear the muffled "Z" trying to escape and eat everything in its path. 100% pure driving excitement! Weakness:
Breaks, speeding tickets, and Gas Milage Sweet car. Really turns heads. It 11 years old and still looks dam good. The blind spots are a bit sketchy but, he when you doing 200, why are you looking behind you?? This car has excellent handling. Id buy it again in a secound. Similar Products Used: 2001 Toyota Celica GT-S: The Z Car is faster, but the looks are about the same. I was not impressed with the Celica's Acceleration, but the 6 speed transmisson is really nice. |

Costly repairs. I love this car. But, unfortunately, I just found out the other day that I need a new engine. My car is 11 years old with almost $150K miles. They tell me with new engine, engine harness, and new turbo chargers...I'm up to $11K in repairs. Yikes! The car isn't worth that much I don't think...and I've even put at least $10K in repairs over the last 5 years. I hate NOT to fix it. So now I'm stuck looking for a new car...and still thinking about fixing my Z in a few months for a second car. Similar Products Used: None |

None baby. This car ROCKS!!!! 11 years now, 189,000 kms..... they're gonna have to pry that cool titanium key from my cold, lifeless body when I die. I ain't ever gonna get rid of this baby. This car has seen 3 girfriends and one wife. Gonna miss the cat....not her. Every day is heaven when you're in this car. My dealer, Ericksen Nissan in Edmonton, Ab, Canada. can be credited totally with keeping this car runnimg like the day I bought it. Thank you Dr.Z. My hero. If you find one- buy it. Don't even mull it over, just hand out the cash. Similar Products Used: 911 Twin, 300GTVR4, Supra Turbo |
