Strength:

THIS CAR IS DAMN FAST! it can out handle a 911 under any circumstance. no body roll. 0-60 in 4. SUPER EASY TO UPGRADE (a friend of mine got a race spec airfilter and a nitrous oxide kit and it upped hosepower to 390)!!! i get a great feeling when i spank a cobra mustang at a red light. its a hot car.

Weakness:

nothing pisses me off about this car, but then again i've only had it for 9 months...

if you dont have one yet. get one now

Strength:

Incredible speed and acceleration. Great handling, aggressive and kickass looks. Timeless beauty after 10 years of ownership also did I say reliable.

Weakness:

Needs better front brakes to match its performance.
The Bose stereo is starting to go out after 8 years of use.

I bought this car new in July of 1991 and still love it. I'm trying to preserve it now with only 50K miles on the clock. I used to use it as a daily driver, worked flawlessly and Honda-like reliability. What really attracted me was the 300hp twin-turbo engine and it still excites me everytime I drive. I have recently upgraded the versatile 3.0 liter engine to 400hp! Relatively inexpensive upgrade I replaced the ECU (computer chip) exhaust and intake to take advantage of the new fuel/flow parameters programmed into the ECU. Unlike most earlier model cars the 300ZX still looks fresh and timeless. People still turn their heads and take notice on the road, I love it! I will eventually put on 18 inch wheels and wider tires, need to save, but out of the box not many sports car nowadays can match its styling and most of all its performance. I highly recommend it.

Strength:

-Handling is first rate and drama-free. Fit and finish is excellent for 10 yr old car. Very flexible engine with plenty of power for 95% of the situations you'll face.

Weakness:

Brakes are not as confidence inspiring as you would want. Even though the car is tossable, it can feel a tad heavy at times.

Paid $8,000 for it. Had 116k in excellent shape. Probably got a more than fair deal on it. Basically the car has no weaknesses. It can be smooth and reasonably quiet when you want it to be or you can pretty much tear up the road if you want. Before I bought this I read everything I could on it. The criticisms, if any, you'll find is that the car lacks a bit of personality. It's a harsh comment, but also a bit true. But if you analyse it what it really means is that the car has no glaring weaknesses but does not leave in you in awe either, like a Vette would with its raw power or an RX-7 with its sheer cornering capabilities. In fact if you were to drive it for the first time together with a '90 Vette you'd probably be more impressed with a Vette. But after you've calmed down, you'd realize all the little things that the Z does better. The 300ZX engine is effortless at speed.......actually quieter at 80 in 5th than at 60. I know it sounds like BS but it's true. And look around a lot before you buy. It took me over a month with cash in hand to find a really good one. I tested 8 cars total. Read for all the things to look for, go to Twinturbo.net (it's not for the turbos only) There's a lot of info. there. For 7-10K you'd be hard pressed to find a better sportscar.

Strength:

THE Z IS AN ALL-AROUND SPORTS CAR. IT COMBINES GOOD LOOKS AND RAW POWER WITH COMFORT AND RELIABILITY. IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY TO OWN AN EXOTIC-LIKE SPORTS CAR WITHOUT ACTUALLY HAVING TO PAY THE PRICE TO OWN ONE.

Weakness:

BRAKES WHILE FAIRLY REASONABLE, COULD BE BETTER. WITH A CAR LIKE THIS, YOUR GOING TO WANT BRAKES THAT WILL HAULT THIS BAD BOY IN GOOD CONFIDENCE. NOT THE MOST FUN IN RAIN EITHER, THE SLIPPERY SURFACE CAN REALLY PUT A DAMPER ON AN OTHERWISE EXCITING CAR TO DRIVE.

I PAID 23,000 FOR MINE. I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND IT FOR ANY TRUE ENTHUSIAST OF AUTOMOBILES.

Strength:

Gorgeous body, very comfortable seats, pretty fast, Reliable, alot of fun to drive. Suspension is outstanding. Great buyer support at Twinturbo.net, saved alot of money by listening to these guys

Weakness:

Front Rotors have a tendency to warp, Nissan electrical connectors seem a little subpar. Replacement parts expensive. If you really want to haul ass get the Twin Turbo model, the NA is fast but its upgrade range is limited.

Paid 6700 for mine with 132K, I love just to stare at this car. People get jelous over this thing, and your friends will also get jelous. People like to stare at this beauty. Overall just a great all around car, not great as a daily driver, but the best as a second car.

Strength:

The overall appearance of the Z is absolutely mind blowing. The car is a head turner anywhere it goes. The output of the motor is something that I've never experienced in my whole life and it is something that I would never forget. My Dad owned one and when it got pushed to its limits the G-forces were phenominal. The whole car just buzzes when it is going at a speed over 120kph. The cops used to love watching out for them and they could never catch them so they had to get one themselves.

Weakness:

Nothing!

The price paid was about $90,000(AUS), after doing upgrades eg. 1500watt 10 Stack Kenwood soundsystem.

I would recommend this car to anyone who is serious about driving and likes speed and exotic cars. This is a car that I am going to get and never let go of it.

Strength:

Handles great in a good looking and practical(ish) package. Cheap too nowadays for reliable speed.

Weakness:

Normally aspirated engine a bit weak below 4500rpm.

If you want a good looking sports car that's quickish, comfortable, practical and long legged, this car is a major contender. I have the 2+2 version which is a little heavy for the n/a engine. It could so with a bit more power as it takes around 7(+) seconds to 60mph. Also crash gear changing is out. On the other side of the coin though: It looks great. It handles extremely well if a little slow on turn in. Even with the handling, it sits well on the freeway for (regular) long distance trips. At 6'4" I have no problems with interior space and seating position, which I do have on almost all sports cars and many standard cars. with the 2+2 format I can put the back seat down and fit a 25" racing bike in there (minus front wheel).

Actually, the 2+2 format is really 2+small 1, who has to sit sideways, but it does provide much better cargo space. Almost practical, really.

Just remember to get one that has full service records. Check the rear axle and drivetrain bushes for noise. These are weak on these cars and cost a fortune to replace. (As does pretty much any repair on this car)

Strength:

Acceleration is phenomenal for a 3.0 V6. The car pulls urgently through all gears. The interior is as nice as a much more expensive luxury car. Gas mileage on my n/a is over 20 mpg! The shifter is one of the best to work with...short, precise throws. Used models won't cost you a fortune. The car is also very reliable. Supension allows the car to corner like none other.

Weakness:

Visibility is limited through the rear, even worse with the turbo wing. The brakes feel inadequate at times. Front fascia scrapes curbs often.

I definitely recommend this car to those serious about driving.
You can drive this car forever. I've seen Z's with 200,000k on the clock,
and they still look top notch.
Upgradibility is easy because of the VG30DE's raw potential.
Smoke Mustang 5.0's all day. (A mustang's engine is 66% larger than the Z)
Also have no trouble dealing with the 94-98 Mustang 4.6 GT's.
Overall the car is a head-turner with a body style that will never become
dated.

I think that this is the porche 911's little brother! It is a fast car with excellent handling and everything was designed with a sporty driver in mind! I have a porche 911 turbo and the 300zx is my personal favorite!

Weakness:

That they stoped making them!

I paid $42,000 in cash for it and it was worth every bill! I recomend this car to anyone with a bit of a speed demon but not to the weak hearted of speed. This car's main purpose is high performance,a great look, and great handling!!!
