Strength:

Responsive handling, solid engineering (mechanical and ergonomic). Sticks to the road. Head-turning, heart-skipping design!

Weakness:

Brakes VERY sluggish, very inconsistent with everything else about the car. Don't feel comfortable that I could really stop if I needed to. Suspension a little stiff for cruising to the beach.

I fell in love with the 300ZX during the '97 Nissan commercial where G.I.Joe raced through the playroom to sweep Barbie off her little plastic feet. Been looking ever since, and found a 93 with 33K miles that I could not pass up. Owned a Stanza and wished it was a Maxima, bought a Maxima and wished it was a 300ZX. Plan to keep this one forever. Have always been impressed with my Maxima's solid engine/engineering/ergonomics and 300ZX is the same in the sports car class - very well built and big on performance. Plan to do some upgrades for more HP, but it's plenty of fun already! My tip - find one with traceable records of maintenance.

Strength:

Bought a silver ZX non turbo. Looks slick stylish and sexy in silver.
Acceleration is great. Front design is similar to your lamborghini. Side shape design is similar to the Ferrari. Though the cost of the 300ZX is far more affordable than your Lamborghini or Ferrari.
Major head turner in the country. City is'nt so bad though, but people see a few more around in the city so it's not as rare. Leather interior, comfortable driver side seating. Targa roof a must.

Weakness:

Must be careful around speed humps and kerbs when your parking because of the lowness of the front spoiler. The standard mags suck and is really ugly. Get rid off them and go for a simple 5 star shape design for your mags.

Bought mine for $23,000 without extras included. Roughly $26,000 if I included new mags, top of the range Alphine stereo and speakers, included central locking, immobilser alarm, microwave sensor and tinting etc. A big head turner in country towns such as Kalgoorlie. Got windows tinted and 5 star mags to suit the beast. Targa roofs a must.It will be a car I'll be keeping for a very long time until I get given a silver lamborghini diablo.

Strength:

You think the car is cool before you buy it, but after you get it, you realize another thing about it everyday that obviously had some thought put into it. the interior and exterior are some of my favorite of any car i've ever seen. It is just the perfect car, and me and my friends cant stop saying it everytime we take a ride.

Weakness:

none. anything resonable that you could possibly dislike can be improved upon. (not counting view out of rear-view etc)

raced a 96 firebird formula 350 w/ corvette LT-1 engine. I have an n/a with a stillen intake and a B&B Fabrication exhaust (best one) and while he did pull on me in first gear, once i hit second, I closed the gap pretty quick considering this car is rated at 300HP ~ 330 lb/ft and I have approx 240-245 at the flywheel. unbelievable how a engine that is 2.7 liters smaller, and all motor is holding on to this car!! Took hundreds of 5.0 mustangs STOCK! Paid $20,000 for 94 w/ ttops 42K. Everyone sell your car and get a Z!

Strength:

Timeless appearance. It's hard to believe this is a ten year old car. Performance to match and modifications are easy. Beautiful interior. All wheel HICAS steering (which some may not prefer, actually - but this can be taken care of with Stillen's HICAS remover). Looks good in almost any color.

Weakness:

Engine bay is kinda cramped!

With prices coming down on this car, it's a definate deal! Just make sure the turbos are working properly. There are EXCELLENT resources on the net for 300ZX owners, from www.z32.org to www.twinturbo.net. You don't have the "soapbox" look of the Supra, the weak tranny of the 3000GT, or the Apex seal problem of the RX-7. Watch out for the #6 cylinder, however. If you mod, make sure everything is done properly and definately go with cooler plugs. Otherwise this is a definate fun car. Make sure you go turbo, however. The NA version will make you regret you didn't.

Strength:

Blazing acceleration, incredible handling, blazing acceleration, great brakes, sounds and looks cool.

Weakness:

Doesn't keep the original Z car feeling

I like this car fine for a normal sports car, but for a "Z" it lacks soul, It blows the doors off a 240z, but doesn't have the same feeling, character, and overall sense of style.

Strength:

The only car that I've driven that even comes close is the 2000 model 'Vette 6 speed. I've smoked everything from GS400's to Mustangs to VR-4's with no problem. And it doesn't matter if I'm flat out on the freeway or at a stop light...they couldn't hang with me. I have a dark gray t-top and it looks like a shark from the front and sides. Wouldn't give this car up for the world. Consider it car #1 in my collection.

Weakness:

Can't see a damn thing when changing lanes. Let's see...can't think of much else. Oh yea, you have to let your turbos cool down every time you drive it. Trust me. Let them cool.

I paid $16,000 for my car with 54,000 miles on it. I would recommend one to any person that knows how to four wheel drift and heal-toe properly. This is not a car to play around with. If you brake when you should be accelerating this is not the car to experiment with. 300+ horses will have you spun around very quickly. Also, I don't drive it daily. The tires are expensive and it guzzles gas. It is completely capable of being driven as a daily driver, but I would rather preserve mine.

Strength:

i feel that these cars were very well built. for a 1984 model year car, it has option on it that most 1994 cars do not. ( heated mirrors / 6 way power seats etc ) it has incredible acceleration for a 6 cyl and great looking as well.

Weakness:

the one thing i do not like about the car is it is extreamly hard to work on it yourself. there just isnt any room. the parts are no harder to get than any other car but if you have to pay to have something done...look out. anothr problem these cars have is, like most pre 1990 japan cars, rust. you must be careful when buying one and check them over EXTREAMLY WELL

all in all i would say that as a fun quick little car to drive with the tops off in the summer, its a great machine. ( i like it much better than my 1994 mustang i had )

Strength:

Beautiful car, beautiful interior, fast, big tires. Its a one of a kind head turner and ass kicker. Smooth ride, great features, climate control, T-Tops.

Weakness:

Ride is bumpy sometimes. 2 - Seater

HEAVILY RECOMMENDED! These cars are awesome and very reliable. I drive mine every day and have only had 1 problem in the 2 years I have owned it. (An abs actuator got stuck and had to be replaced, $125). I also do my own mechanical work and these cars are built very well! Nissan is great about covering the little things. For instance, everything electrical has connectors instead of soldering. I've replaced my domelight and passenger sideview mirror, both were a snap. Less than 15 minutes apiece. They are getting pricey to find good ones now, though.
If you want a kick ass sportscar with lots of potential (look at all the mods available for this car!), this is it.

Amazing car. Chicks dig it. Smooth, speedy ride. I had a Mustang before this that kept falling to pieces the older it got. The 300ZX is solid.
