Strength:

Car drives well, good cheap transportation, well it has been till now.

Weakness:

No power, but what do expect for a 4 cycl.

Bought two 2000 Chev 4dr 2wd 4 cycl Trackers about 3 years ago. Numerous problems but the one I most concerned about so far is once both cars reached about 44,000 miles the heater core goes out? Chev says theres no recalls, Anyone else had this problem ?

Strength:

GREAT IN SNOW, GOOD MILEGE

Weakness:

NO POWER, CHEAP PLASTIC INTERIOR, TOO SMALL FOR 4 PEOPLE

MY WIFE PURCHASED THIS NEW IN 2000. SINCE 10K MILES WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH DIFFERENT AREAS. AT 10K THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS BECAUSE THE GAS CAP WAS NOT PUT ON CORRECTLY. 10 DAYS LATER IT CAME ON AGAIN. EVERY TIME THE DEALER RESETS THE LIGHT, IT COMES BACK ON. WE NOW JUST DRIVE WITH THE LIGHT ON. THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE AT 18K. IT TOOK 45 DAYS TO GET NEW ONE.SEVERAL PLASTIC PIECES HAVE BROKEN OFF AND THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS ALREADY WORN OUT AND SPRINGS ARE COMING UP. AT 32K THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START AFTER BEING RUN ALL DAY. THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE TIMING BELT AND CRANKSHAFT. AT 33K WE HAD FRONT BRAKES REPLACED, ONE OF THE WHEEL BEARINGS WAS WORN OUT. THE DEALER WOULD NOT COVER THIS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT DO THE BRAKE JOB. AT 36K THE IGNITION SWITCH BROKE AND CANNOT REMOVE THE KEY. DEALER IS GOING TO "GOODWILL" THE REPAIR AND COVER UNDER WARRANTY. WE NOW HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLE AND WILL TRADE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Strength:

Roomy and comfortable front seat space. Good Air Conditioning & Heater. Auto On Head Lights Decent gas milage for an SUV. Good Turning radius, easy to park.

Weakness:

Tigerpaw Tires aren't that great, and horrible in rain! Vehicle power is low over 40 miles an hour while the AC is on. Rear head rest restrict visibility, I took them off as soon as I bought the car!

This is a great SUV, you don't feel like your driving a giant moving truck around, feels more like driving a small truck then an SUV. Shifting into 4WD is easy, don't be afraid to just shove it in there, either stopped or while your driving. The car WILL go, and make it up hills, don't be afraid to use that gas pedal! I would highly suggest buying better tires, be very careful in rain, and large bumps in the road at high speeds. The wind does blow this car around a little, but no more then a light weight car, more insentive for those knee drivers to keep both hands on the wheel.

Strength:

I still think the V6 has great power, and it's great around town and short trips on the highway.

Weakness:

Again I don't like the headrest. Miss the center console for leaning...Why didn't they put a middle console in an automatic is beyond me?? Still not much luggage space unless you put the back seats down.

Well I've had my Tracker now for almost a year! And to my suprise I've have no problems...I had my windows tinted which gave it a neat look were the car is Black/Silver. I'm planning on putting a Sunroof in next. I promised my husband I would kept the car for the full 5 years till it's paid off. So I'm going to put the things I like into it. Not sure if I'll get one again...I really miss the smooth ride of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. And the passenger room.

Strength:

Looking forward to getting used to it. The cup holders seem to be incredibly inconveniently placed, back at your hip in the middle, almost in the back seat. I really wonder why. BUT, I put it in the strengths heading because I've been driving around for that many years with NO cup holders (in a standard) so any cup holders are just a bonus for me!! Plus, on the Jeep, the cargo area door cannot be opened without first opening the window above it first. In my business, I will be accessing cargo many times a week in and out of the cargo area. So the swinging open cargo door is a plus as I would surely wear out the shocks on the Jeep window cargo area very soon.

Weakness:

I don't know yet.

Well I haven't got it yet, it will be here next week. I was going to get the new Jeep Liberty Sport, but the Chrysler dealer here wanted 5-8 thousand down, and gave 5.7% for a 48 month lease and $440 a month payments. Whereas the GM dealer is ZERO money down, 0.9% on a 48 month lease and $350 a month payments. The Jeep didn't come with a block heater which is a must where I live and the Tracker has one in it. So in doing the math, it wasn't hard to decide which one to get. I got a very plain and simple one, no bells or whistles, 4 cyl. When it gets here next week, a command start will be installed for me. I chose the automatic as I've been driving a standard for so many years I needed a "rest" :o) I'm hoping it will be fine, although it's new so the warranty should look after any "bugs." At the end where it askes for value rating and overall rating, not having it yet, I will put in what I HOPE I will end up with.

I've not "used" a similar product before. I am leaving my 1995 Ford F150 for this little mini SUV. Keep in mind that I've not had one problem with my truck, but I feel it's just time for a change.

Strength:

Plenty of seating room. Still enough space for cargo both inside and on top of the cargo roof racks. It also tows quite easily. great gas milage, and a lot of zip in the engine.

Weakness:

the vehicle is top heavy like any SUV or Jeep, so it's wise to be cautious on turns. That's it, use commom sense don't turn too sharp.

I purchased this vehicle used from a Honda dealership. Previously I test drove the 4 cyl and loved the manueverability it had but when I saw the ad for this 6 cyl twin cam 24 valve Tracker at such a low price I jumped at the deal. The dealer did not realize what they we're selling & probably just wanted to get rid of the Chevy on a Honda lot. Great passanger space and still enough room for cargo.I Love it, as a young mom. This vehicle is wonderful.

Strength:

Very maneuverable, good gas milage, excellent 4 wheel drive system

Weakness:

don't like the cupholders

I've owned several suvs in the past and have found the Tracker to be my favorite. It will go anywhere you have the gumption to and does it with ease. The Fourwheel drive engages seamlessly with a flick of the lever and has low range too.I frequently take it down the interstate at 75 miles per hour and it is quite stable[you do feel crosswinds but it is less than with vans]I've put 30000 miles on it so far with no mechanical problems whatsoever._The handling on backroads is a pleasant surprise as well-Trackers stay strait and level on washboard surfaces-none of that side to side action so prevalent with other vehicles.

Strength:

Looks good, comfortable seats and although small can still carry 5 people and luggage with room to spare.

Weakness:

4 cylinder engine is a little weak, Transmission is jerky at 35 to 40 mph (city driving). During bad weather I have to be real careful, back end wants to come around when turning. Braking in bad weather is an adventure too, it slides right or left on me.

I like the fact that its small and gets good gas mileage and manueverable too.

Strength:

It is a sporty like car, which is a convertible. The Gas Mileage is good. It take cares of the driver to get to point A to point B. Anyone can afford one

Weakness:

So far i havent seen any weaknesses but yeah it is hard to take the top and back part off and that someone can easily steal your stuff well my opinion is that buy a alarm system or get locks for the top and back parts if it is possible.

Well I am 17 years old, yes a teenager. I have a Tracker and I am not having any problems with it. I love this SUV or car it is my first one. It is nice it has everything what a teenager wants on their car.
