Strength:

Great size for a small family or one person.

Weakness:

Air conditioning problems, squeaking, fuse problems

We bought this Trailblazer on November 30, 2002, and it was in the shop on December 3 with a low cycling switch problem in the air conditioning system. It was back on December 22 for the same problem and has been back 3 times since then for the same problem. We have also blown several fuses for the tail lights and brake lights. We have sought legal counsel and have notified both GM and Chevrolet of our intent. We gave them 14 days to find the cause or we were filing suit. They have proceeded to put another "new" part in the ac, which is on the way out, and have only angered my husband and I further. It is my assumption that they know these vehicles have this problem and they are continuing to manufacture and sell them. I will never buy another GM product again. It's foreign all the way.

Strength:

Strong quiet motor. Transmission has worked fine so far. Great on snow and ice. Riding comfort & luggage capacity.

Weakness:

Annoying problem where the rear hatch & rear bottom pull down door would not lock! Took several trips to the dealer before it was fixed. Now, we get dash warning lights: "ABS", "Brake", & "Check 4x4". When these warning lights display, the heater/air condioner fan does not work which means on hot summer days, there is no air conditioner! Going back July 7 for the 3rd time on this problem! Looks like the electronics and computer controlled systems are very problem prone.

We've put over 17000 miles on this vehicle. Were it not for the annoying electrical, electronic, & computer-related problems, this would be an exceptional vehicle. The engine (so far) has been very quiet, smooth, & strong. We've taken it on some trips & it proved to be very comfortable to ride in, a good size with plenty of room for the passengers and luggage.

Strength:

THE TRAILBLAZER IS A VERY ATTRACTIVE LOOKING VEHICLE. THE RIDE IS VERY SMOOTH AND COMFORTABLE. THE HANDLING OF THE SUV IS GREAT. I LOVE THAT WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING IT , IT FEELS LIKE THE COMFORT OF A BIG VEHICLE WITH THE CONVENIENCE OF A SMALL VEHICLE.

Weakness:

WE HAVE FOUND THAT THE GAS MILEGE IS VERY POOR. WE HARDLY EVER GO BY A GAS STATION WITHOUT HAVING TO FILL UP. I MAKE SURE TO DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT AND STILL CAN NOT GET THE ADVERTISED STICKER GAS MILEGE. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING DOOR LOCK PROBLEMS WITH OUR VEHICLE. THERE SEEMS TO BE A GHOST IN THE DOOR LOCK SYSTEM. IT RANDOMLY DECIDES TO LOCK OR NOT LOCK. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY DURING DAMP OR WET DAYS. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX IT AS YET. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING, AS YOU MUST ALWAYS CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE PASSANGER DOOR IS LOCKED. IF I WANTED TO DO THAT MANUALLY ALL THE TIME, I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED AUTO DOOR LOCKS. WE STILL HAVEN'T GIVEN UP ON THE DEALER TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.IF THERE IS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE THAT HAS EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM AND HAD IT FIXED, PLEASE POST A REVIEW. IT COULD BE HELPFUL TO OTHERS. WE ALSO HAD THE DASH COMPUTER MODULE REPLACED AFTER APPROX 3 MONTHS. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED ON WARRANTY AND IS WORKING FINE.

ALL IN ALL WE LOVE THE VEHICLE. IT HAS EVERYTHING THAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR. WE HAD HOPED FOR BETTER GAS MILEAGE, BUT IT IS WITHIN THE ACCEPTABLE RANGE. IT IS COMFORTABLE, GREAT HANDLING. WE WOULD DEFINETLY PURCHASE ONE AGAIN. WE FIND THE DEALERSHIP TO BE HELPFUL AND WILLING TO WORK WITH US ON ALL OF OUR ISSUES. WE STILL HAVE SOME WARRANTY ISSUES TO CORRECT BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS WILLING TO WORK WITH US.

Looks great, ran great until the engine blew up on the freeway.

Weakness:

Too many quality problems. No one has any explaination as to why these things happan.

My Trailblazer has been to the shop more then it has been in my garage. It has had three recalls, the engine blew up and was completely replaced at 10,000 miles, the transmission was shot at 12,000 miles and need to be replaced. The running boards turned from black to purple and needed to be replaced.

Looks, Power, Perfect size ( not too big or small), Love the controls on the steering wheel. great for tailgating with the rear power outlet. drives great in the snow and off road.

Weakness:

maybe could use a 4 speed transmission, we had two recalls, front headlight, and twice rear tail light out, but they were fixed through the warrenty , so no trouble.

I love my Trailblazer. I have driven 35,000 miles in 18 months, Taken trips in 110 degree heat over mountains to the Grand Canyon, and below zero trips, up to the snow, and it was a dream. 90 mph a/c on full power 110 degrees out, and the temperture gauage didnt even move. Awsome power as well. I plan to get a new intake system and dual exhaust this summer, cant wait to reach 300 horse power. Only a few problems, which the warrenty covered

Strength:

Pewter Metallic color looks great dirty and even better when clean! Smooth acceleration and a nice riding truck. Controls are convenient and easy to reach. Very roomy. Love the LTZ with the heated seats and dual temperature controls. The separate rear radio is neat for backseat passengers who want to listen to something different. Feels better and more stable than the Blazer. Folding rear seats are great as I practically live in Wal-Mart and I'm always lugging a truck full of stuff home.

Weakness:

Did not get the sunroof or disk changer. Did not come with running boards but will add as it is hard to wash the truck without them. Did not come with disc changer or DVD player. Check engine light came on within a week but I had put a locking gas cap on that apparently did not fit. (Went off after replacing it with the original.) Had to replace tail light but got inexpensive bulb at Autozone and the salesman even installed it. Was a bit much to get to as there is the need for a screwdriver and several screws to deal with.

I LOVE this truck! I look forward to climbing behind the wheel to go anyplace. . .around the corner or on a 2 hour trip. It does have the dual seat memory but my husband complains that I won't let him drive it! He'll just have to be content with the passenger side climate control that he can play with. This truck does NOT drive like a car and I like knowing that I'm in a truck. If you want a car, buy a car. This thing is quiet but rugged. Coming from being a car owner, Jetta, this thing has so much room. Everyone who has driven or ridden in it, loves it. Even my mother who is hard to please, loves it. I would recommend changing the settings so that when the alarm sets or is disarmed, that the lights don't flash. I think I got in and out so much that I just blew the tail light out. It has so many ac/dc plugs and if you buy this converter that converts your AC to DC, you can take your laptop, tv, etc everywhere and not worry about a battery. This is an amazing vehicle. If I'd gotten the things that were not included, I'd probably want to live in it!!!

Sharp looking SUV. Handles good on the Hwy. Haven't tried it off-road.

Weakness:

Computer/electrical/who knows what else it might be. I won't get another one.

Awesome SUV when we first got it. Wife's vehicle and in a year and a half she put just under 10,000 miles on it. Then it went to pot. Been in the shop 3 times in 2 weeks. High RPM's on start up,(up to 1500-1800 for 30 secs. to 2 mins.), instrument gauges, (all of them) went out while she was driving it at 55mph.Dealer says they can't duplicate the problem. First time in they reset the computer. 2nd time they kept it for 5 days and ended up changeing the computer and fuel line and a bunch of other stuff. 3rd time they put a "black box" on it for my wife to activate when it messes up, just like it did this morning.......again. Who knows what now. Called GM and filed a complaint yesterday. Dealer is trying to help but they can't find the problem.
