Strength:

My husband is 6"3 and has plenty of head room and leg room. He fits comfortably. It is also very roomy in the back seat.

Weakness:

nothing so far.......except gas mileage and no truck latch release.

It;s so much fun! My kids & there friends think I have the coolest car. I have the Touring Edition Patriot Blue. Hard to keep clean, but has a pretty shine to it.The stero rocks W/CD. Gas mileage is not as good as I thought it would be. I do wish it had a trunk release latch on the side of the front drivers seat. It''s easy to get in and out of parking spots. I dig on the interior light that dims after you get in the car. I did purchase the 7 yr warrenty that covers everything. It''s a blast

Strength:

Gas mileage.Plenty of room for 5 people. front seating sits you up and you don''t feel like you are draggin your butt on the road. Head lights are great for night seeing. I work nights and they are great. The head room for taller people is great. The room for going grocery shopping is out of this world.

Weakness:

can''t think of any except maybe view when backing up but there again Look before you back.

Great car took on trip very roomy and comfortable brought 3 grandchildren back home from DC. No problems with the trip. % speed get anywhere from 24.9 to 31.9 miles per gal. Plenty of get up and go. Isn''t doggy at all. am concerened about the brakes I have been reading about. I only have 8000miles on and have experienced no break problems or noises

Strength:

Manueverability, general handling in winter, utility cargo carrier. An antique hot rod in modern garb. Over 28,000 miles with absolutely no problems.

Weakness:

Some rear visibility awareness: LOOk HARDER.

Styling was the first attraction, but after that, utility of folding seats to taking out seats, tailgate party table used this summer; winter handling phenomenal, with Michelin tires, doing 70 in slushy snow surface. Stick shift is best, and getting 24-29 miles a gallon highway with cruise control, at 75mph. Have been in two parades, on hockey ice during periods to promote a parade, used for demo in charity raffle, a looker at antique car shows in Syracuse, NY and Lake George, NY; big looker in Montreal, Canada; have oooogahh horn, and under hood PA system for fun interaction and Raven High Performance muffler, for that roaring sound.Still looking for "laker pipes," though.

Strength:

Excellent frontal visibility, classy style, jamming stereo system, roomy hauling capacity, ease getting in/out, manuevering & parking.

Weakness:

Gas mileage sucks though improving after 8,000 miles (22-24), diminished rear visibility, turn signals sluggish turning off, no glovebox lighting.

The ''cruiser'' is the most awesome vehicle on the roads. I saw one initially in a magazine ad in fall 2000 & knew it would be the first new car I would own. I ordered aquamarine without test driving one, but took white when declined by orderee, paid more, but much happier with the light color & chrome wheels. Be prepared for inquisitiveness from people anywhere you go. Love the retro look & fellow PT drivers'' friendliness.

Strength:

Awesome looking body, solid ride, handles great at high speeds. Lots of room, easy to get in and out, extremely comfortable,

Weakness:

If I could take the backseat headrest out I would so I could see better when backing up. Have had some close calls. Some type of door guard to prevent dings would have been a very welcomed feature.

THIS CAR ROCKS! I have the limited edition in the Deep Cranberry(purple) and have already added E+G Grille, leather armrest, Car Jewerly (purple jeweled doorlocks and tire stem caps)and chrome belt line trim. People leave notes on my car and you will get noticed. Great ride, lots of room, lots of power. LOTS OF FUN

Strength:

THE RIDE! I love the smoothness of the drive, I can't feel small bumps on the road. And it handles great. THE LOOKS! Most people love the way it looks, and I certainly love my Patriot Blue Model. Plus it's cool that I get to wave to other PT Crusier drivers :). THE PRICE is excellent and I'm happy to say that the first new car I ever purchased was a PT Cruiser 2001 LE!

Weakness:

It's true the blindspots are a small problem. I put some little "moon mirrors" on both outside mirrors and I have had very little trouble. I have always used moon mirrors on my other cars so it's not a big change for me. Also, like my other cars, I removed the headrests from the back seats so I have a larger view of the rear window. My only unsatisfied comment about the Cruiser is its gas mileage. I'm not sure I get 25mpg and that's unfortunate.

The Cruiser gets alot of attention mainly because of its looks, but it is a terrific car for a first-time buyer or for the weekend roadster. I read all the reviews about poor power, etc, etc, and have not found any performance issues as far as power. Talking with other Cruiser owners, they have not had any troubles either (all of us have automatic transmissions). I hope people consider this review, especially for the power issue.. it just isn't true!

Strength:

Styling, comfortable ride, roomy interior ( as compared to the exterior dimensions ). The attention that it gets.

Weakness:

Noisy engine. Has little power below 3000 RPM. Rear passengers keep on hitting power window switches ( check out the awkward location for those in the 2001 models ) with their feet. Could use a better Stereo. Front passengers get their calves rubbed against by the door map bins.

Nicely done package. All credit goes to Chrysler designers. Too bad that they are being screwed by the Daimler management now. Structure feels tight as a drum. Amazing composure over bumps. Feels much more stable at high speeds than any car this small. I regularly take it to over 85 mph!. No squeaks or rattles yet. The doors close with a solid thump!!. Outward vision is good except for when you are trying to back up, that's when the rear seat head rests get in your way. Could use more sound insulation. Love the looks, a lot of people wave at you and come up and start talking to you. Mileage is low but I don't care, I didn't get this car so that I can save gas, BTW I once got close to 400 miles on the tank while driving on the highway. I would love for DC to offer a 2 door coupe version with suicide doors, a V-6 and a chrome grille.

Strength:

Makes the best of limited space.
Great fit and finish.
Smooth Ride. Sticks in the turns.
Smooth engine.
Great 5-speed.
Very comfortable for 4 adults.
Good sound system.
The best breaks I have ever experienced.
25 MPG
Child seat mounts well in this car.

Weakness:

Driver doesn't do so well in crash tests.
Power is good but not great.
Bump strip too low to protect doors. (dent prone)
Driver's seat needs more support for your legs. It looks like a nice bucket but you could end-up on the floor in a sharp turn. Could also lead to fatigue on long drives for some.
Gas cap is on the wrong side of the car.
Removable seats weigh are very heavy.

Very nice car! I come from a "Ford family" and have never strayed from the blue oval. This is the car that made me switch. If you are on the fence about this car, all you have to do is drive one! If the initial quality is any indication of how this car will hold-up, I could have this one for a long time.
