Style,looks,price.Fit and Finish

Weakness:

would like more power, wind noise from Moonroof at speed, gas milage too low for a 4 cyl. Had to wait 6 months to get it. It was worth the wait.

Very enjoyable to drive, handles very fine on the highway at speed.
Love the five speed , good shift pattern. To make use of the 150 horses
you need to keep the revs above 3000, then you can feel the power. Would be nice if that happened at lower rpm.
The fit and finish are as good as any US or import I have ever owned.
Have all options except engine heater, roof rack, and air foil. All work well and are well done. Leather seats very fine.

Strength:

looks and nicely finished interior, good motor for a four cylinder.

Weakness:

no passenger armrest and no light in glovebox

This car turns heads and makes people do crazy things like opening the door without asking first. The outside makes them want to see the inside even more! The car has more interior room than it appears to. Performance is good and gas mileage good also. It is fun to drive and handles well

Owned a 4Runner before this- engine was weak and cupholder placement was very annoying, and drove quite roughly.

Strength:

Looks, Customizable Interior, Quiet Ride, Great Sound System

Weakness:

Low 20's mileage. Blind Spot at Rear.

Awesome Vehicle! We bought the limited edition in Inferno Red. It really draws attention. Cruiser people are fanatics about their cars. If you are thinking about buying one, visit a PT event in your area. Flames, Woody kits and every other custom item can be purchased for this car. I have never seen such enthusiastic owners other than Miata drivers. You'll probably have to pay over sticker for one in California.

This car drives like it looks... Awesome. No wind noise, solid when going over bumps and has great ergonomics.

Weakness:

Absolutely nothing weak about this car!

WOW! WHO WOULD HAVE EVER GUESSED THAT CHRYSLER WOULD EVER BE THIS INNOVATIVE.
EVERYBODY CONSIDERING BUYING ONE OF THESE BEAUTIES SHOULD DO SO AND SHOULD BUY IT FROM THE MAXWELL CHRYSLER STORE IN SOUTH AUSTIN, TEXAS... GREAT FOLKS TO DO BUSINESS WITH.

PS: dont forget to join the "PT Cruiser Owners Club of Central Texas" after you buy from these guys.

Imports... this is a real American made automobile. It feels like a big car on the road and doesn't have that "tinny" sound when you close the door.

The LOOK!! Handling, just feels right

Weakness:

150 hp engine, you will have to floor it to get 150 out of it!
Fuel economy of 3.0 liter V6
2 stars for driver safety!

A very cool car. The best looking car (aside from the Porshe). Fuel economy is comparable to a mid-sized V6, would not mind havinf a V6 in this car. Performance is pretty descent, but if you floor it (I have an automatic) it takes about 2 seconds to get up to high RPM (the car pauses for 2 seconds and then roars like its about to go 100mph). Good 6 speaker streo that comes as standart, but would be nice if they had optional packages. Disk brakes on the fron wheels only (no brakes on the rears if you shoose ASB).

Strength:

-Absolutely beautiful car.
-Looks and drives like far more value than the price.
-Fit and finish are excellent.
-Interior is excellent.
-Highly functional and practical.

Weakness:

What's not to like about this car?
-Horn is centered (retro-style) on steering wheel, difficult to reach quickly.
-Retro styling causes retro-aerodynamics; certain configurations of the moon roof open and windows open can howl!

I got my Limited Edition PT with auto tranny for $19,995.00. I would highly recommend this car to anyone. Functional for families, hot ride for single folks. Already there are tons of aftermarket accessories for this car, so adding whatever appeals to you is readily available. In the past I have worked at a job where most of my day was spent working from my car - I certainly wish the PT Cruiser had been around then. This is a fabulous car for the on-the-road employee.

I originally fell in love with the design. The car was ordered from a picture before they even being built. It was a pleasant surprise when the car arrived and I discovered what a tremendous job Chrysler had done overall. The ride is comfortable and luxurious. Though the car is tall and "SUV like," it handles like a sedan. The value for the price is the best I've seen.

The rear cargo space with the back seats in the upright position at first appeared small to me; however, I quickly discovered that all that vertical space swallows up everything I could get in the trunk of my previous car and then some. Of course, with the back seats flipped or removed, there is a cavern of space.

My Cruiser now has 3,000 miles on it without a problem. Both performance and gas mileage have been steadily improving. When I picked it up with 9 miles on it, it felt a bit sluggish; but now that it has gone through the break-in period, it really zips. No, I'm not out there racing Vetts; but the car has more than enough power on the road. Early reports of the car being underpowered are exactly that - early reports. All through the break-in period I was noticing more and more pick up.

I have never had a car that pleased me more than this one. The PT Cruiser is not mere transportation - it is a love affair! I can confidently say that if Chrysler continues to produce this car with the same standards of excellence, my next car a few years down the road will again be a PT Cruiser.

Strength:

Styling and the retro look
Great utility of the space
Fun to drive
Met a bunch of nice people always asking about the car

Weakness:

No glaring problems, this has been one of the most trouble free and well put together cars I've owned (including foreign and domestic models)

I'd recommend the PT Cruiser to anyone that needs a daily driver that can handle 4 people comfortably, but wants to do it with style unlike anything else on the road. You WILL be noticed.

I've got almost 5000 miles in less than 3 months of driving, the handling and braking have been awesome. Fit and finish are better than some much more expensive vehicles I've owned or driven. A turbo would be fun for the boost it would give acceleration, but since the engine has broken in there is no lack of power for normal driving, the car is fun to stand on and once the revs get over 3500, the power really comes on.

Chrysler has problems since so many people want a PT and have to wait and wait to get one....plus, the price gouging (selling them for 27K++) is going to turn off owners to EVER buy a Chrysler vehicle. My biggest fear is that they continue to raise the PT's price and add features, putting it into the mid 20K range; if so SORRY, but it's not a $25,000 car. There are a lot of alternatives at that price that deliver more room, comfort, handling, etc....but not the look!

Strength:

Easy to drive - I ordered a 5 speed. I also have the moon roof. As it's getting towards the cool side, the heaters work great, especially the rear view mirrors - I like the defrosters. The speakers for the radios are also neat - it's fun to switch them around - from front to back. Lots of head room & storage space. It's just a FUN car to drive.

Weakness:

Two blind spots and the seats are a little on the hard side.

I paid over MSRP - but I really wanted the car - I waited 6 months for it to be built and delivered. It's been worth it. Yes, I'd recommend this car.

Strength:

- Cool Look
- Priced OK
- Good initial interior quality.

Weakness:

- Poor performance
- Poor storage room.
- Fair milage for a four cylinder

After having the car for six months the thrill is gone. I'm now discovering the day to short comings of this car. I knew going into it about it's lack of power. This vehicle needs a V-6 with torque. The claimed 150HP comes on at such high RPMs, that it's unusable.

Also, with four people, hope they don't have gear (lugage, golf clubs). The rear storage is tiny with the back seat up. Been back to the dealer twice for small problems. I hope I don't get that American car problem blues.

Cool weekend car. Very weak as a day to day vehicle.
