Just treat me fair
Strength:

Weakness:
Chrysler as a company is the biggest weekness. When making an inquiry with them in regard to the window regulator problem they claimed this was new to them and that the fact I am out of warranty I have no recourse. I find this answer to be unnaceptable and the fact I have two windows not working is a testimate to their poor quality control and their failure to take care of their customers proactively. I expect more from a company when I spend 30k for their product. I will take further action against Chrysler as I do not think any of us should have to burden the responsibility of fixing their problems at our expense. This is my first and last Chrysler product. Vehicle drives well and is roomy. Bad Gas Milliage but that is to be expected for the most part. Front Wheel bearings went out and bot back windows don''t operate now. Strength:
Plenty of ground clearance, power and roominess. Price, I got it fully loaded for for $2500 less than the Blazer. Great warrantee. Seems reliable so far.
Weakness:
Cheap looking interior. Body fit and finish is disappointing, really modular looking and slapped together very few DETAILS. Whats with the cheapo looking radio contols? Also, how come there is no dual cargo access, you have to lift the entire door- no reach in window, that is some really cheapo thinking. Boring. I basically got what I paid for. The Explorer was nice, better fit and finish and overall quality and attention to detail but too expensive. The Durango has it all. Just cheaper. Was the average price for "Rangos" in this review $26,500, really? Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
4.7 V8, Agressive looks, ride.
Weakness:
Tires=crap I love everything about this truck with the exception of a few rattles. The power is exhilerating, it is so nice and smooth on the freeway. Is a little bouncy over small bumps but a blame that on poor tire selection(Goodyear=Junk). Other than those monor problems I love it! I driven a 99 Blazer and it does not come close to the Durango! Durango Rocks!!! Similar Products Used: 99 Chevrolet Blazer, 96 Ford Explorer(SUCKS) |

Strength:
engine, transmission, styling, trim details, options, just about everything.
Weakness:
I wish the transmission was an automatic 4x4 which kicked in when the car begins to slip rather than having to initiate it manulally I love this truck. Love it, love it, love it. I had previously owned two suv''s which I didn''t hate, but which always left me with a feeling that I wished I had held out for something better. The 4Runner - the only thing I can say is that the Japanese can''t make an suv. The Explorer was capable, but the little things that kept breaking, plus the under-powered engine and the bad press made me very leary of it in the end. With my new Durango, however, there are no problems. It has a great stock engine - good power for towing and acceleration (deep revving sounds as well, beautiful), I have never floored it, but I have been upto 105 with power to spare. Good ground clearance combined with the four-wheel drive is excellent in the snow and in water accumulated in the road. In a recent rain storm we have an underpass where that water commonly backs up to about a foot, foot and a half. You find all manner of vehicle stuck there during storms, but my Durango made it through with no problems. The little extras are the best with the trip comnputer, rear air, dvd player, dimming lights, room for 8... It just makes the truck a really comfortable place for the whole family. Plenty of room for anything I might need it for. Also, plenty of power and capability from the engine and the transmission I am confident in any situation. Oh, and I have to mention my wife. She is 5''1 and has no problem driving this car. She gets in and out with no problem. Parks it with no problem. What can I say, no complaints... Durango
Strength:
True to their marketing the Durango''s size fills the niche of not being overly large (e.g., Excursion) nor small (e.g., Pathfinder, Liberty). The vehicle can seat seven with the well designed fold down back seat. In addition, the SUV is a good-looking vehicle.
Weakness:
I''ve read of numerous problems regarding transmission and power windows with this vehicle. And I''m now experiencing them. All out of warrantee (of course). In addition, the vehichle has had one oil leak (seal in manifold) and sudden losses of oil pressure. Also, the brakes have always been mushy with the feeling that you were never going to quite stop in time. A love/hate relationship. The vehicle has many great designs but fails to execute. Strength:
On the highway, it tracks like it''s on rails, great to drive. Plenty of room for the whole family and plenty of power to pull a boat.
Weakness:
Transmission is noisy and rough when shifting, but so far it is rock solid. Good vehicle. I have about 110,000 miles on the car. I have had a problem with 2 electric window switches, ball joints and there is some gremlin in the cruise control. Similar Products Used: 2 Explorers before this car and for me the Durango is a much better vehicle. |

Strength:
Nice Ride, looks nice,
Weakness:
Ac never cooled truck as much as it should have and went at 22,000 miles. Tranny always banged into gear. I had no signifigant problems with my Durango, (other than a battery replacement), until of course I surpassed the 3 year warrantly limit. At that point, I lost AC. So far the estimation is $1100 evaporator replacement with 9 weeks left on the lease. I never liked the way the tranny banged into reverse from Park, either. Other than theat the ride has been nice and will probably look to get a 2002. Similar Products Used: None |

the list goes on... do not buy one, hunk of crap!!! One of the biggest mistakes I have made was buying my Durango! I have had it for 2 1/2 months,I''ve replaced the tranny gasket 4 times!!!! Runs like crap, sounds even worse, the tranny slips from 1st to 2nd when first started up. the muffler sounds like blub-blub-blub... the engine ticks, wouldn''t doubt the engine failing on me soon! I thought I was losing my mind with all these problems until I found out that they all drive and sound like crap.I did not get what I paid for, I can''t wait to get the title and this thing is out of here! My husband was right never buy anything but japaneese! Similar Products Used: 2000 nissan Xterra, I should of kept that! |

Dodge doesn''t appear to stand by their products and an inept service department. Turning out to be a major headache. A clicking noise started in the front wheels at 20,000 miles, still there at 50,000 miles. Serviced at 2 different dealerships, no one can fix it (14 service visits). I''m in the process of pursuing the lemon law also seeing what the dealer is willing to do to correct the situation. Similar Products Used: None |
