Strength:
LOOKS, R/T EXHAUST SOUND, TOWING CAP., SIZE, 7 PASS, DECENT STEREO, NEW ELECTRONIC TRANSFER CASE VERY EASY TO OPERATE
Weakness:
FUEL ECONOMY, PREMIUM FUEL REQUIREMENT FOR THE R/T MY WIFE DRIVES IT VERY LITTLE. I HAVE A 97 ACURA 4 CYL. I DRIVE TO WORK. YOU COULD SPEND A LOT ON FUEL IF YOU HAD A LONG COMMUTE. THEY HAVE GOOD INCENTAVES GOING NOW AT THE DEALERSHIPS. IT SEEMS THE VEHICLES ARE A LOT CHEAPER IN CANADA. I HAD TO SIGN A FORM THE SAID I WOULD NOT EXPORT IT FOR AT LEAST 1 YEAR. WEIRD. Strength:
Looks, V-8 Performance, sound, handling, roominess
Weakness:
2 wheel abs and antiquated p/t 4WD transfer case I would recommend this vehicle as a safe, fun SUV. I am disappointed in Gas Mileage and lack of standard features such as 4 wheel abs and full time 4wd, however, that being said, the rest of the vehicle and the 4.7 cammer is great. Hope it lasts because its fun to drive and confortable on long trips. Similar Products Used: Tahoe...like them both; Grand Prix...much better...no more cars for us |

Strength:
Size, versatility, looks, power, comfort, seating, design. Everything seems to be well thought out. The knobs, cup holders, buttons, tumble seat operations are all the way they should be.
Weakness:
The brakes. The price. Resell. Mileage. I would recommend a Durango, but by it used, and get one with anti-lock brakes. I would also get the 5.9 liter motor. If you are going to have bad gas mileage, you might as well have the HP! My Durango does NOT have the anti-lock brake option. The front brakes are quick to lock up and then the back brakes do nothing. I have already had one accident that I attribute to this. Also, the resell on these are terrible. I questioned a friend, that is a auto wholesaler, and he said it was because they are in the rental fleets. You can buy a loaded Durango, that is about a year and a half old, and still under warantee, in the low $20s. That is about a $12,000 ding in only 18 months. I love the vehicle. If you want seating for 7 and don't like driving a BOAT, it is the perfect vehicle. Similar Products Used: Ford Expedition, terrible ride, bad mileage, horrendous service, good sound system. |

Strength:
Looks, mobility, power, roomy seating and space, towing capacity
Weakness:
The vehicle has been in and out of the dealership for work. The back driver's side window rolls down sometimes. It has been in to be fixed twice and it still doesn't work. The transfer case has finally been replaced after being worked on 3 times. The differential had to be replaced. The tie rods have been replaced. The brakes make noises. Finally, the dealership misdiagnosed a problem with oil pressure droppage. The main bearing has spun and the manufacturer and the dealership will not honor the warranty. The sound system is poor. The thing is developing rust already. I live in Ohio.... I would not recomend this vehicle to anyone unless you have money to blow and a garage to park it in. Similar Products Used: It does not compare to Ford as far as quality and reliability. |

Strength:
POWER, I can spin the tires at 30 mph just by touching the gas.I love the extra room. My wife has said we will never own another car again only suv's. Cargo space is great, especially since theres no spare tire back there. I am in Germany and the 4X4 is great in the snow and the mountain regions. This beast can definately hold it's own on the autobahn against the BMW's and the Mercedes. A head turner.
Weakness:
Had some trouble with the brakes in the front squeaking, just have to get them fixed. Mad because it has a govenor on it. I would recommend this vehicle to others as I already have. I haven't had any major problems with this vehicle(knock on wood). I love the power(115mph on the autobahn- 5.2liter V-8)that's when the governor kicked in will go faster. Kids love it. Have made two trips from Georgia to Illinois and back no complaints from kids, cruise was great, gas mileage wasn't any worse than my old jeep's(2.5 liter iline 4). If you're looking for a suv be sure to stop by the dodge dealer and check out the Durango Similar Products Used: Jeep Cherokee( too small no leg room in back, spare tire in cargo area.), Ford explorer( all wheel drive just is not enough Seating is really not all that great) |

I LOOOVE my black muscle truck! It came with aftermarket rims and flares..I love the way it doesn't feel like you are driving a "big" truck...it has LOTS of room on the inside, but it still seems like you are driving a smaller SUV (make sense?)...the turning ratio is VERY good...(this is silly) but I love the extra rubber mats that are in the bottom of the drink holders that make it easier to clean...and I also like the heated foldable mirrors...and the 3rd seat
Weakness:
ABS brakes should come standard I've read the other comments...it's probally still too soon to tell, but so far I LOVE my "truck"! Every one knows that a new model vehicle will have its little kinks and bugs when it first comes out...it is to be expected..I am a female 5'5"..and I feel VERY comfortable in this vehicle...This is my first dodge...I've always pretty much been a GMC, Chevy person...but we'll see...Dodge has come a long way..still too soon to give it 5 stars...I WOULD recommend it so far to anyone! =o) Similar Products Used: Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Limited...Durango feels more solid |

Durango R/T 5.9
Strength:
The R/T package looks great. I love the seats, wheels, and the sound. The engine has more power than most other SUV's and it feels like it from the drivers seat. This truck is finished in Patriot Blue pearlcoat and it turns a lot of heads and I am forever getting compliments on how sharp it looks. I wouldn't trade it for anything except another new one in 3 years maybe.
Weakness:
The fuel milege around the city is always around 10.5 - 11 and that is with premium fuel, then on the highway it only gets up to 13 or 14 but im 24 years old and have a heavy foot! I paid 42,500 canadian plus 15% tax. Someone living in the U.S may want to consider purchasing their new or used vehicle in Canada as the U.S dollar is worth over 1.50 canadian these days. That price I paid works out to roughly 28,500 U.S. funds and i'm sure thats a lot cheaper than a U.S. dealer may sell one for. I'm unsure of how hard or what it costs to get it over the border and get it licensed but I know that you get 7% of the tax paid back for sure and I think you may be able to get out of paying the other 8% provincial sales tax also as you live out of province. Hey, it worth looking into EH? I would definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone who won't whine about the 25 gallons of gas it will burn every week! Similar Products Used: Had a GMC pickup truck and it just didn't have any style or flair to it. It seems like everyone and their mother drives either a Ford F150 or GMC?Chevy half ton and I wanted something different. |

Strength:
Nothing at this time.
Weakness:
My retired father paid cash for a 98 Durango and has had nothing but problems with it. It was in for repairs due to oil leaks and other misc. Dodge I believe did repair the leaks. Two weeks after he picked the Durango up the brakes went almost completely out at a stop sign and he hit another vehicle. The dealer said the brakes were ok. They not only expect him to pay for the repairs they also want him to drive it again without knowledge of why the brakes went out. We have several Dodges in our family and haven't had any problems with the older models however the 97 and 98 models have had major problems. Dodge claims they are not responsible for the manufacturing of these vehicles. They will not repair or find the cause of the defect until it is too late. It has happened once to me and now to my father. This is not acceptable. Why is there a warrantee if they are not responsible? I would not recommend a Dodge vehicle to anyone until they resolve the many defects they seem to have and they show some responsibility for their product. Similar Products Used: 1987 Dodge Dakota was a decent vehicle nothing major was wrong The paint peeled. It was reliable and safe to drive. |

Strength:
Nicest Durango I ever tried. Has the best exhaust note I have ever heard on an SUV. Amazing power, with beautiful fat wheels. Two tone leather is nice looking also. perfect sized Suv.
Weakness:
Her only problem is it's a gas guzler, and it's rather expensive to purchase, and to keep up because of gas bills 28,700 after pulling teeth with the dealer, she had 4200 miles at time of purchase. Recommended to every guy looking to be the envy of every married man driving around in a grocery getter. Similar Products Used: 00 lincoln navi, not as luxurious, however it wasn't meant to replace it anyway, the durango was much more powerful, sporty, and beefy looking. |
