I like the leather seats, they are very comfortable for anyone under 6' tall. Leg room for anyone over 6' is lacking in both the front and back. I like the sound system and the storage space is phenomenal when the back seats are folded down. I like the color, black/silver. I have never had a problem getting repairs done at the Augusta location. The vehicle handles well in rain.

The gas mileage is my biggest complaint. The car was in the shop 1 week after I purchased it to have the "tow/haul" button repaired because it would not go off. The brakes squeak, but work. THEN this week I hear that there is a new consumer alert out that gives the JIMMY the WORST rollover rating of ANY SUV. So now I feel that if I were to ever have a wreck or avoid a wreck, I could be killed because of this car. I am heavily contemplating selling it.

The car gives terrible gas mileage, it is not very stable in turns (something I noticed the first time I drove it). It is the nicest car I have ever owned, but I have learned to be more critical. I have not recommended it to others, and I have been asked. I had hoped it would carry me through years with children, but with the new safety information, that may not be the case.

Poor Gas Milage. I spring of some sort is comming up through the driver's seat (annoying), My tires even after being replaced never seem to hold air pressure?? Had to replace my rotors and front brakes.

Paid 16,900. with 23K for a 96 in 98. I would look for a different SUV though, there has to be better cars.

Comfortable to drive. Picks up speed nicely, easy to pass etc. Nice interior, like the exterior look too. Good am/fm/cd with ok sound.

MANY PROBLEMS. See review summary. Has several rattles etc. that can be annoying but I just turn up the stereo

Overall I like the truck, the way it drives etc. But PROBLEMS!!! When I first purchased it (used) it had the balance of factory warranty on it. It had 54000 km on it. Under warranty the following was replaced (mostly minor): both power sideview mirrors, all coolant hoses, light switch for back hatch. Now that the warranty has expired (66000km) I am in the process of doing the following: 4 new tires (ok maybe wear but with only 66000km??), front shocks, both front wheel bearings, serpantine (sp?) belt, Universal joints.
Overall I am quite disapointed. I bought a newer car so that I wouldn't be faced with repairs every month...not so. I don't think that I have ever sunk money like this into a car with such low Km!!
Thinking of buying one??? .. DON'T BOTHER. Get a Jeep, not as comfortable but much more economical to drive.

don't know where to begin...TONS OF REPAIRS...

i fell in love with this truck. it was the first time i had ever spent more than $5000 on a vehicle. bought it with 39,000 miles and a transferable extended warranty till 72,000 (GOOD THING!!!) from a private sale. bought it on a wednesday, and on saturday it failed inspection...lower ball joints. later the uppers went as well. i have replaced an alternator, front brakes (X1 only so far...but they're going again, from these posts, i'll consider myself lucky...), four wheel drive switch and four wheel drive encoder motor, rear axle, and rear axle bearings, check engine light X1, and then they found the ignition switch was gone, a fuel sensor, and belts and a belt tensioner. these were all covered under the warranty...

now the icing on the cake...the warranty has run out, and now the entire rear end of the vehicle is blown...instead of taking it back to the dealership (i can't afford their repairs) i brought it to a private mechanic. he feels that this occured because of a mistake made when they had it apart for the rear axle and bearings...not something they admit to, of course. this part, USED, is costing me $750, plus labor...

if i had seen this website prior to buying this vehicle, i would have RUN THE OTHER WAY!!! unfortunately, i have a huge monthly payment and many, many more months to pay...it's sad that i'm liking the rental cars that i've driven while the jimmy is in the shop, better!!!

No kidding, where do I start? Really, I wish I had seen this web site before I bought it.
Noisy squeeking plastic center console,Weak breaks,Small gas tank. Auto lock on passenger doors failed (three times and still the dealer couldn't fix it), coolant destroyed the coolant system and radiator after 9 months of coolant flush and change at the GMC dealer, mirrors failed to operate (the driver side actually just fell off), when I go over bumps it feels like the body is falling apart. No side window defroster/air vent....I could see the grill, but when I took it to the dealer, I found out it was for looks only. Rear seats jam sometimes and doesn't fold down. Cheap craftsmanship just about all over. After I took in for the ABS brake programming recall, the car stalled and die on the way home from the dealer..which leads me to believe that this vehicle is not only poorly made, the dealers don't have a clue of what they're doing either.

Stay away, buy something German or Japanese

drives funny a lot of body roll. The driver door squeeks but since it is out of warranty i do not want to spend the money to fix it

It does have a rich quality interior, like the power everything, factory CD player good. Back seats fold down for a roomy cargo area.

Where do I start? Drove it off the lot, broke down on way to work. In & out of shop 9 times in 6 months for not wanting to run. Constantly stalled in idle and while running on the highway. Couldn't get the damn thing to run!
Seat adjuster handle broke off in my hand, windshield leaked. Now the brakes are gone at only 32,000 miles. No recall on them I could find.

After repeated visits (9) for the stalling problem, the dealer FINALLY decided to replace the fuel filter and flush the lines...lo and behold, no more stalling. After the windshield and seat were fixed, I've been good to go for over 6 months. Now, all of a sudden, the brakes are gone, bad pulling to the right when I brake, squeaking. It's out of warranty, of course, now, and am desperately seeking a recall on them to save me money.
There's no way the brakes should be shot now. Gas mileage also sucks, 16 around town, 19 on the highway. When I bought it, I didn't even take my purse with me, bought the damn thing, and now, when we have the 4 of us in, there's no room for my purse anywhere! It's cramped, no back seat leg room for the growing boys. To get rid of it would cost me money, so I'm stuck with the hunk of s--t!

Gas mileage stinks, driver's side window motor burnt out twice. Needs a 5th gear runs at too high of RPM's on the interstate.

It is a great starting car a few mistakes need working on. I have had no major problems at all. Hey people if you actually take car of your car (wash it, change the oil when supposed to, keep the inside clean) it will last forever. Mine has! It is a 92 and has 80,000 on it and has had NO engine problems and nothing but Brakes and tire service done! Duh they tell you to change the oil on time for a reason smart ones!
