Strength:

Reliable, execellent handling in Canadian winters (you proported true 4x4 types that drive blazers and jimmy''s and live in Florida, only talk about occasional "serious" off road but lets get real here. Try driving in Canadian winters (snow fall is measured in feet, not inches), day after day, for months and tell me how great your gas guzzling monster truck is still a pleasure to drive. Our CRV has protected my wife and 3 children in some of the worst weather imaginable.

Weakness:

Nothin''

I originally wrote a review on Nov 4 2000 after I bought a 2000 EX for $26,350 CDN. Well, unfortunately I had to sell it. I really hated to but the good news is, I got $25,500 after 6 months! That cost me only $850. Most cars lose multiple thousands as soon as you drive it off the lot. Talk about holding it''s value. So, I bought another one a few months later - a loaded 1999 for $20,000. This car is 3 years old and it drives just like my new one. And again, a testament to holding its value, the car lost only $6,000 over 3 years. This one is a keeper... until we buy another Honda or Acura.

Strength:

Great gas mileage for a small suv. plenty of power plenty of room for adults built well

Weakness:

rear storage is a little small

Here is a review of my wifes 2001 CRV EX. We were looking for an all around vehicle/baby mover so we could haul all the crap associated with a new child. The CRV has fit the bill and has really suprised me with the quality. It has plenty of power and gets 26mpg on highway and 22.5 around town. the passenger area and drivers area are plenty big for us but the rear section could use some more storage. build quality is excellent and drives extremely smooth. My wife calls it the dune buggy and we think its kinda zippy for such a small engine. I am happy with the vehicle and think it looks much better than the 2002 model. I think the new ones are affiliated with isuzu somehow and if they are anything like the honda passports I''ll pass. (junk) But all in all I would recommend a test drive, they will suprise you with the room. I know it is not as big and manly as a 4runner or something but it sure is easy to park. Someone needs to delete some of these garbage reviews below. ONLY REAL REVIEWS SHOULD BE POSTED THIS IS NOT SOME FORUM TO HASH OUT YOUR DIFFERENCES!

Strength:

Handling, power (CR-V''s new 4 banger, gets off the blocks faster than a V-6 Ford Escape), and size (the largest of the mini-SUVs), and gets better than 20 mpg city, 26 highway. The earlier CR-V models were among the most reliable vehicles on the road. A can''t miss vehicle that proves you don''t need a six to scoot.

Weakness:

Haven''t found any--except that Honda won''t discount their models.

We traded for the 2002 CR-V almost the day it came out for the EX model. We had owned a 1997 CR-V and pretty much liked it. THE 2002 MODEL IS GREAT! It''s more powerful, handles better, and gets the same gas mileage.

Model Reviewed: /CRV LX FWD

Strength:

1. Bigger Engine (160 Hp!!!) 2. Better Transmission 3. Back seats so flexible (great design!!) 4. Back seat includes 3rd head rest 5. MPG is excellent (23 to 25 on my CRV) 6. Interior space is well engineered!!! 7. Great location for Emergency brake 8. Great list of Std Eq (Mats, CD, Rear mud guards, ETC) 9. All wheels have disc brakes

Weakness:

1. Drivers right arm rest needs to be larger!! 2. Drivers left foot position does not have support !!! 3. Drivers seat needs about 1 to 2 inches of additional slide.. 3. Tire repair tools are loose???(They should review ACCORD tool storage??) 4. Glove box needs to be much larger..

Great Family SUV... So Far the MPG is around 23 to 25 MPG.. The interior space is amazing!! The back seats provide total flexibility ( the competition will most likely copy this design).. Most complaints about a small engine and noise have been addressed with like new model(Ivtec engine @ 160HP @ 3600RPM)..Door controls are finally located on door handle...It will definitely seat 5 large adults (I am over 6-1" and could easily sit in back seat)... I liked the new A/C / fan controls...On dash shifter works well with interior layout...

Strength:

Bigger, faster, quieter, retains the same mileage as my old 98, and is more refined all together.

Weakness:

Non-adjusting roof rack.

The second generation crv is a great improvement over the already great first generation model. I had a 98 crv for the three years and I upgraded to the 2002 because they refined the old one and made it better in almost every respect. It is bigger, much quieter, more powerful, better handling and just ergonomically better all around. The only things I have to complain about is how the roof rack can not be adjusted to accomidate more space between the cross rails. This is inconveniant when dealing with an 18 foot kayak.

Strength:

Ride, quality control and just plain fun to drive. Roomy and comfortable. Will have to write later after a longer evaluation

Weakness:

pricey acces, only 1000lbs total towing weight incl trailer weight.

Oct-Nov 2001 I found a dealer with several 2000 model left overs. NEW, only 40 miles. Drove it and haggled long over a price. It is BTW my wife''''s vehicle. She does not like me driving it. It is HERS! From what little driving I have done I have seriously considered trading in my full size P/U for another one, maybe a LX for me.
