Strength:
Great Turning Radius. Very solid, Hard top is easy to remove. The Suspension is so much better tha the 95's & older. It drives really smooth.
Weakness:
Gas gusler. My 6 Cyl. gets almost the same milages as my husbands Toyota Tundra V8. Also the stock Stereo is so so. These days they make the stock stereos as good as some of the better after market brands, so I was very suprised that the stock sound system in the Jeep was so average. (1998 Model) - I love my jeep. I can take me just about anywhere & fit in almost any spot. They have improved the Wrangler in many ways since 95. Over all I am very happy with my Jeep & recommend to anyone. |

bumpy ride. little room for surf board i love this car. great during the summer and the four wheel drive comes in handy around the cold snowy winter.torcq steering cuts those coners like no other. cruise down to the beach and start picking up chicks with the top off is one of the best things about this car.this is the kind of car for the studs and stallionites. a true image car. not for the wussy kind of person. Once you completely rip out the crappy factory parts and modify it with aftermarket goodies, put a lift and 35's on it, then you will have probably the best rig that money can buy! A true Jeep that has been modified will go anywhere. I have taken my rig from street to dirt to sand to ice and never had a problem. I can pull a steep hill in 4th gear faster than almost all of those new sissy SUV's out there today. The purr of the motor is almost erotic, and the feel of the power when you push on the gas pedal makes my heart race every time. Not to mention you get an awsome tan without the top on in the summer and you have almost no blind spots. Did I mention it attracts a lot of men? (oh yeah, I am a girl..did I mention that?) This rig can turn on a dime, is very easy to clean (or get dirty :) ) and will end up being your best friend! Very reliable once you get to know it's personality.
Weakness:
Don't plan on going over 80mph without having some balls! Wranglers can drive a bit squirley, so I don't recomend one to somebody who has difficulty controling their steering. Jeep trannys suck so plan on replacing yours right away. The factory clutch is garbage...like I said before, you should replace all those crappy factory parts. The only other weakness is the lack of weekend days (2 is not enough!) to take your Wrangler out and enjoy it! The name Jeep essentially speaks for itself. I have owned this vehicle 3 yrs, and another Jeep before it for a few years as well. I think if you are a smart person you will know exactly what you are getting before you buy one. If you are out to get a Jeep just for the name you deserve the piece of crap you will wind up with. True Jeep owners know that to get the most out of your truck you need to buy used and modify it, DO NOT BUY A NEW JEEP! You will regret it!! Why spend $17k on a new rig when you can pick up a used one and modify it for the same price? New Wranglers have inferior transfer cases and the trannys suck. A Jeep is a reflection of your personality, why buy new and be generic just to say you own a Wrangler? Buy used and make it into your most prized posession! Similar Products Used: Also own an 88' Blazer K-5, a Bronco, had a Cherokee and a Nissan. Driven almost every truck brand there is and I have to say Wranglers are the best if you have the personality for it. Not everyone can appreciate this vehicle, and the majority of Wrangler owners out there are just yuppie wanna-be's who don't have a clue how to even use their 4 wheel drive. |

Wrangler SE
Strength:
Durability, Very nimble off-road, Goes places no vehicle was ever meant to go, easily converted to the ultimate competition vehicle, and most important FUN!
Weakness:
Ride quality left a lot to be desired, Gas mileage was comparable to a full sized truck with a load, Noise level going anything over 20 miles an hour was dangerous to your ear drums. The Jeep Wrangler is a symbol of Manly outdoorsiness in American society. Like owning a corvette in the city. Jeeps are uncomfortable, loud, not very practical, and not very convenient. But, they are the most versatile 4x4's ever built. The four wheel drive is impeccable, absolutely no complaints. Mine had a 4.0 six cyl, with no after market mods. You don't buy a Wrangler and expect a sports car with four wheel drive. You buy a Wrangler and expect a tin can that looks good and makes you feel good. Similar Products Used: Suzuki Samurai, like a cross dresser, kinda looks the same but isn't. |

It is a fun car, you can not complain about the gas milleage, it is a SUV, if you are then you did not read the sticker stating what it got. I think that jeeps are great and I am sure that I will own one again, but as a weekend car to have fun in. I do not trust them.
Weakness:
I wish that it ran better I would keep it, but the problems make me worry and the lack of support is another key factor in me selling the car. The only weakness is that the jeep does not live up to its rugged name and heritage, it should not break down when you are driving it under normal conditions... The jeep is a classic, the problem is that it does not have the support to go with it. I did not have a problem with it untill the paint started to crack. I took it to the dealership and they said it was my fault for painting it again.....strange I did not do that. I had to get a friend to fix it for me I painted the hood and a quarter pannel. Now a year later the paint is cracking in a different area...and the transimission is going out, I only have 36,000 miles on it. I am not happy with the vehicle due to the fact that it should not have the problems that it is having. I am not happy with the vehicle. The support has not been good, when I first got the car the instrument cluster stopped working, I took it in and they said they fixed it, two days later the same thing happend, I took it in and they said that the connection needed some greese, two days later it broke again, this time I asked them to replace the instrument cluster, no more problems..then the paint issue, with no support and then the paint again, I do not want to drive a tri-color car!! I am trading it in! I think that the Jeep is a fun car to have...you need to have it as a parttime car...or if you are young and do not have a family. Similar Products Used: I had a ford bronco, the jeep is much more fun not as sturdy, but it is smaller... |

Strength:
Obvisouly the best quality is that you have a four-wheel drive, where the roof comes off, not only is it a four-wheel drive, but it is one of the best ones one the road.
Weakness:
The worst thing is that when you have the soft top on, and you are driving on the freeway, you can't hear anything, and it doesn't give you a very smooth ride. It doesn't get very good gas mileage, but I knew that when I bought it, and I still purchased it, so, yeah. I love my Jeep. It is the best for summer night cruises in the mountains. I Love that you have a four-wheel drive, and a convertible all in one, it's the best. I bought my Jeep used, and it runs great, which is really fortunate that the previous owner took such good care of it. I think that as long as you take good care of a Jeep it will run great for a long time. Similar Products Used: My friends have convertibles to trucks, and a jeep kind of rides like a truck but it's great cause you have a convertible as well. |
