Strength:
Good handling, reliability, acceleration and surprising maneuverabilty. Excellent retention of market value.
Weakness:
Terrible back seat folding design, cheap door panels and plastic interiors. Paid list price (no discounting at time of purchase). Would recommend but not to be confused in any way with a top-end Mercedes Benz product such as my S420. Good utility vehicle for general use and a definite value. |

Good acceleration, built-in Navigation system, BOSE speakers, comfortable ride, Awesome off-road performance.
Weakness:
Those hard leather seats, very hard. CD changer in the trunk This is one of the best car i've ever driven, this suv has a lot of HP. I was driving around on the snow, no problem, this car had nice features, the GPS system comes in very handy if you like to go out. Great speakers. Bought it a month ago, totally like it, awesome car. Only problem is that the leather seat, I am not too happy about, it's very hard and uncomfortable. Weakness:
no cup holders to speak of, sunvisors, back seats need a map on how to fold i drive over 36,000 mls a year. this car/truck has been the best vehicle i've ever owned. i am gettin 22-23 miles per gallon on the highway. the ride if fantastic. whenever i drive my wive's blazer i realize just how spolied i really am. i have a 98 w/ over 40,000 mls on it w/o out any problems w/ realibility. have not had it in for anything but normal ckups. i may try the lexus 300 next year because of all the bells and whistles but if it doesn't ride like this ml forget it. made two trips in huge snowstorms last winter to vermont and the all time 4 wheel drive worked great! Strength:
ride, safety, comfort, cargo space, sophisticated engine/drivetrain
Weakness:
paint scratches/chips easily No problems in 11 mos., 15,000 miles. Installed a high-end stereo, hands-free phone, Very comfortable on long trips, yet maneuverable enough in big city (Chicago). There may be 2 nicer SUV's (Toyota LandCruiser & Range Rover), but they're much bigger and MUCH more expensive. As for the Lincoln & Cadillac, forget about it! They're a $20,000 pick up truck with a bunch of ornaments hung on them! |

Good looking, lot's of room,
Weakness:
Cheap plastic all over. I have this SUV for one and half years now. The car has been in the shop at least five times now. My check engine light keep on turn on. They told me different story each time. The idle are very rough when stopping. The trunk latch broke off in less then 3 month. I had to call the general manager of the dealership before they finally fixed the problem. But good thing didn't last long. |

Strength:
Power...That's about it!!!
Weakness:
Toooooo many to list... 3 days after purchase coolant light comes on. Dealer takes care of it, supposedly, and two days later same problem. Brakes make so much noise neighbors start to complain. Cheap interior plastics make all kinds of noise...etc. Dumbest mistake I ever made on a car... Did not wanted to spend next, I don't know how many days in the MB service department so I got rid of it after 7 months. Dealer offered $10k less than what I paid for. But still very happy about not having that piece of #%$@ in my garage anymore. What a relief!!!!!! Similar Products Used: BMW X5, rides like 540 except 10 inches higher. |

Strength:
The interior of this car is incredible, especially if you upgrade to get the plasma screen for the sound system. The sound system in this car is exceptionally well, more than enough leg room in both front and back seats, seats very comfortable. For those who can't decide whether to get a manual or automatic transmission, this car solves that problem.the ML 320 offers a driver-adaptive automatic transmission with the manual-style Touch Shift feature. Just tap the shift lever side-to-side to downshift or allow upshifts. good amount of room in the back for any cargo you have. exterior looks beautiful. looks like a luxury vehicle, drives like a speed demon. very dependable to wherever u need to go.
Weakness:
Gas Guzzler. I have encountered a few minor problems. Paint was peeled off after a car wash, locks wouldnt unlock a few times from both outside and inside, plasma screen malfunctioned a month after purchase of vehicle (still highly recommend upgrading to it) This my first SUV and i do not regret buying it at all. Mercedes has out done themselves by proving that they are capable of making an SUV. this car screams luxury and at the same time sporty. well worth the money!! Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
None.
Weakness:
The whole car. Just a complete nightmare. Highly regret not getting the Lexus RX300. Horrible car. It was the third car that we drove off the lot because the first two had mechanical problems. That really should have been our first clue. The check engine light came on during the ride home from the dealership and there's been problems ever since. We literally took the car in about every two weeks for countless problems. Each problem took a couple visits for the dealership to actually fix. Problems include: gas gauge that didn't work (you could fill the tank but the gauge would stay at 1/2 full), door locks (either fluttered or didn't lock), windows (they'd get stuck), interior lights that wouldn't turn off, brake warning lights would come on and the car had a rough idle which the dealership can't fix. The kicker was when we had a transmission problem. The car was stuck in 2nd gear regardless of where the gear shift was. I have to stress that the car had to be taken in numerous times for each item to get repaired and this happened within months of getting the car. The dealership would say it was fixed, only for the problem to reoccur a couple days later. We complained to the dealership and they didn't care. They did forgive one month's payments- too generous. We even consulted a lawyer (who stated he drives a Toyota after years of dealing with MB's crappy quality). Needless to say we were extremely disappointed and frustrated with the car. |

Strength:
Capability off-road, power, luxury, smooth ride, comfort, sleek styling, and it's a babe magnet.
Weakness:
I haven't had any problems yet, so I don't have any weaknesses to report... So far, I love this truck. I haven't owned an SUV that handles like this yet. It doesn't ride like a truck. More like a luxury sedan. That is my opinion at least. The Land Rover that I previously owned was great and had the best handling, but it didn't ride quite like my ML430. I got the Similar Products Used: I have owned a Land Rover Discovery and a Mercury Mountaineer, and the only one that is as good is the Land Rover. |

Weakness:
gas mileage, standard tires are too weak, back-end styling ??, slow windows, no auto air conditioning I love this SUV! This is the first time I have spent so much on a car/truck, but it has been worth every penny! I feel spoiled everytime I get in. Reliability has been fine, only a few small problems such as broken cup holder, broken cigarette lighter, etc. I think what one really needs to consider, is the engineering and safety of this product. I wouldn't want my family to drive anything else. I hope to keep this ML a long time!!!!! Similar Products Used: Isuzu Troops, Hyundai Galloper (This is a different class!) |
