Strength:
-nice ride and awesome handling, so far is quiet in interior, -Back seats are roomy and you dont have to sit perfectly straight with your back to avoid the rear window. -impressive power for 4.7L
Weakness:
No AC vents to the back seats brakes tend to fade 15MPG is best city milage so far 18MPG was best I got so far on HWY. 2002 Dodge Dakota 4x4 quad cab I was never a Dodge person. I shopped all makes. The Dakota was best value. I got all options except leather and overhead counsel group. Posi, tow group, two-tone paint, SLT pkg, tire & handling group, automatic trans, electronic 4x4 shift on fly. Similar Products Used: Tacoma 4x4 4-door V6 (only complaint was lack of power) Tundra 4x4 V8 (out of my price range) |

Dodge Quad Cab/ 4.7 liter V-8
Strength:
I just got into an accident with the impact speed approx. 50mph and the truck is barely damaged, which is more than I can say for the Acura I hit.
Weakness:
NONE! Dodge rules man! The 4.7 has alot of giddy up for a small block V-8. My truck runs a 6.8 (0-60) and its getting faster with milage. Similar Products Used: Ford F-150's suck. |

Dakota CC R/T
Strength:
Gobs of power and excellent handling. 8 speaker soundsystem is top-notch. No problems yet, and only routine maintenance by the first owner. Plenty of modifications available from MOPAR or the aftermarket.
Weakness:
Poor gas mileage, but who cares??!!!?? Had to replace the thermostat and plugs to prevent pinging but picked up horsepower according to my G-tech accelerometer. Dakota R/T with 5.9L engine is the perfect hot rod truck. Everybody sees it with its agressive stance and boss rumble. Drives great. We have the R/T and a Durango SLT and love them both. Dakota Quad Cab 4X4
Strength:
Power on demand. 4.7l engine is powerful. Haven't pulled anything with it yet, but looking forward to it.
Weakness:
MPG - roughly 14.5, but i'm a lead foot. That's what happens when you've driven a 2.3l for 11 years. You're so used to having to floor the pedal just to keep up. Now I floor the pedal and I'm GONE! I LOVE MY TRUCK! period. Purchased fully loaded except tow pkg. Similar Products Used: 92 Ford Ranger |

PASSING POWER!
Weakness:
Cup holders are in a lame position. I have the fully loaded SLT 4x4 4.7 V8, its got it all 4 ABS, anti-slip diff, full time 4 wheel drive, heavy duty both, trailer tow, 8 speakers... I cannot believe some of the negative comments here, IT"S A TRUCK, PEOPLE!! If you want to feel like your driving a boat get the F-150...has more body sway and roll than my buddy's ski boat. This truck is for people who are looking to hit the trails and not worry about getting their HEAVY full size truck stuck somewhere. Looking forward to many snowboarding and mtn. biking trips in this baby...look for me passing those sorry ass Fords on the way up the mountain. Similar Products Used: Nissan pickup |

Strength:
Still feels like a newer truck. Comfortable seating. Love the extended cab with full bench seat.
Weakness:
Paint peeling. I am a true blue Dodge girl, and my Dakota has never let me down. We bought it second hand through a private sale. Paid $4000 for it even though it had paint problems. (Apparently Dodge had some problems with paint peeling.) However, the truck was so nice to drive we bought it. The extended cab was also handy for our son as well as extra carrying space on wet day grocery trips. We have had the truck now for 5 years. We had also bought a cap for it, and we also use a homemade kayak rack to carry 3 kayaks to the lake. It had 88,000 km on it then. It is now a 12 year old truck with just 159,000 km. It has had a few paint/body touch-up jobs, and a couple of other minor repairs, but I love my truck and want to keep it for another 3-5 years yet. Similar Products Used: No comparisons! I LOVE Dakota sport cab trucks!! When this one dies, I'll definately be scouting for another! |

1)..hmm.. it still runs?
Weakness:
I dont know where to began. Let me list out the problem with this car. 1) the 4 banger can't even pull its own weight ( what was I thinking) 2)The pastic panels would squeak. 3)The goodyear tires on the truck SUCK. I had to replace all 4 tires within 2-1/2 years of normal driving 26000 miles. 4) The front brakes needs to be turned in 26000 miles, when I call the dealer up for the so call "60000 extended warranty" they told me..."thats not covered, you must have over heated your brakes" i am like..."right, it must be my fault". 5)The AC did not work when I first bought it. 6)The window would make clicking noice on a hot day. 7) The sifter WILL hit the cups in the cup holder ( American engineering ) 8) The clear ring around the key is only there for looks, IT WILL NEVER LIGHT UP they say. ( American engineering ) 9) for those of you who changes your own oil. THE DRAIN PLUG IS ON THE SIDE (NOT THE bottam or the edge)BUT ON THE SIDE OF THE OIL PAN. make sure you have some towels ready to clean up the mess. And the oil filter location...( I dont even want to talk about it ). The power lines on the starter is not covered with anything, so if you ever use a wrench to take off Maybe it is my luck with Dodge, but I am never going to buy another Dodge truck. |

Strength:
Good Looks, Strong Engine, Ram Tough!
Weakness:
Needs a lot louder sound system. I bought this truck used. It had 15000 miles on it. I had a 1994 Dakota Reg Cab and I loved it, but ever since the new body style came out I had to have one. When I traded in my old truck, it had 135000 miles on it and I had very little problems with it. My new truck has been great. I got a fully loaded red V6 ext cab. The room and comfort is great. It has the CD infinity sound system that sounds great but I'm a sound fanatic so the room really came in handy. I've added a 350 x 2 amp with two Kicker Comp VR's. Now the sound is incredible. I didn't get very many miles out of the factory tires. Only 20000, but I believe it was from the person that owned it before me kept too much air pressure in them. I've got 38000 miles on it now and no real problems yet. The engine and trasmission are still strong as ever. Over all a great truck. I'm very pleased with it.
