Ram Quad Cab 4X4
Strength:
Good lookin', tough, roomy. It's more comfortable and roomy than my old Chevy. POWER when you need it. Rides well for a 4 X 4 truck. Nothing like the old days of bouncing all over the place. Full electric is the way to go!
Weakness:
Sheet metal is a little thin, subject to dents. She idles a little rough. I traded in a Chevy Silverado for this truck and have no regrets. Beautiful, but tough. It'll do whatever is asked of it. It pulls my Sea Ray 185 Bow Rider like it isn't even there. Wet ramps, no problem, I've got 4 wheel drive. Similar Products Used: I've driven Dodge, Ford, Chevy, and Jeep 4X4's for 30 years. |

3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel 4X4 Dually
Strength:
Very tough looking truck...people get out of your way when you come down the road. Cummins diesel is indestructable. Truck is extremely reliable. Great gas economy for such a large beast.
Weakness:
It can be a pain to wash. This is my first diesel truck. My buddy had equipped it with the Banks Turbo System, Lift Kit, Airbags, Exhaust Brakes, Electric Brakes, Heavy Duty Tow Package, Rancho 9000, BFG Mud Terrains. This truck hauls and climbs anything put in front of it. The Banks makes it surprisingly quick off the line. I agree with the last reviewer that if you can find a clean used one...buy it! Dodge Quad Cab
Strength:
Versatility- the rear seats fold up to make a lot of cargo space. The 4.7 litre engine is fuel efficient, as far as trucks go.
Weakness:
None This truck rules! I've had it over one year now and it's never been in the shop. It's more spacious than the older quad cabs and it has a really good ride to it. Excellent driving position. The 4.7l engine is very strong. It's a definite eye-catcher. Similar Products Used: 1996 Dodge Quad Cab 1998 Dodge Durango |

Strength:
1.great driveability,
Weakness:
1.engine pings like crazy using less than 92 octane to tow and 89 to play around town. 2. Could use better seat fabric. Ordered this Dodge brand new to tow my 3-horse trailer. Truck was ordered with SL trim,am/fm cassette, air, tow package,cruise/tilt,360 gas,5-spd manual,4:10 posi. Less than 5,000 miles they replaced trans and radio.Transmission had a buzz noise and Chrysler replaced it. Chose a gas engine over the better towing Cummuns because I can buy a lot of gas with the $4500 it takes to buy the diesel. No problems with this vehicle since 5,000 miles.Truck has 92,000 on it. Would I like to get better mileage, yes, however I don't think 11.5 m.p.g. is too bad considering the weight i'm towing. Similar Products Used: '95 Plymouth Voyager |

Exterior styling, 40/20/40 bench, 360 has good power. Rides good for a solid front axle 4x4.
Weakness:
Gas....get several gas cards and take out a second job. Interior styling is a little bland 98+ got a much needed make over. I purchased this, so I could have a truck for hauling and playing around in the mud. The truck had 190k when I bought and now has 238k. The tranny was rebuilt when I bought it, but other than a water pump I've had no problems. I was amazed that an american vehicle held up this well for the milage. I highly recommend this truck. Quality Assurance - POOR!!!! What type of endurance testing does the Dodge go through? Our friends tried to convince us to buy a Chevy, my brother-in-law tried to convince us to buy a Ford...but we decided to buy a Dodge Ram, my husbands dream truck. Well...it turned out to be a nightmare. If you have money to burn and like to gamble, buy a Dodge...who knows you might hit it lucky. Our experience with our Dodge Ram has been a costly one. Last January 2002, our truck was less than two years old..our monthly expense for the truck was just under $4000.00 . A new transmission, heads, etc., etc.. etc....you name it, the truck needed it. The only thing that was not replaced was the Catalytic Converter...well, a year and another $750 in repairs, we now have a new Catalytic Converter. Needless to say..we have given up on Dodge. We will never buy a Dodge again and neither will our friends and family. We are sharing our nightware story with our friends. We wouldn't wish this experience be shared by anyone. When we took the truck in for repairs, we were asked if we do 4-wheeling in the truck...the answer was no. We never have and never will take the truck 4-wheeling. The truck is used for day-to-day travel..work and home. I can't even say we got what we paid for because the Ram is costly....but cheaply made!!! Similar Products Used: GMC Ford |
