Gas Guzzler, That's all I can think of. The Flow Master has increased the Gas Milage by a few miles better. We just bought a new 2002 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4x4 5.9, this will be our 3rd Dodge Ram and . We have had a 1997 Dodge Ram Sport 4x4 extra cab, and a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 extra cab. We have not had any problems with either one of them, They are great Trucks. Similar Products Used: None |

It looks good.

power train and suspension Stay away from Dodge Trucks!!! In the 2 years and 70k miles I've had it The front end wont keep and alignment, getting ready for 3rd set of tires, left me stranded twice until Lawrence Dodge finally replaced the fuel sending unit, within the first 9 months the transmission seized and left me stranded yet again. It took Lawrence Dodge 7 days to fix it. Now the rear end has once again left me without my truck and forced to rent a car because Dodge wont give a loaner unless you buy their "extended warranty". Which by the way is marked up 100%. You can get the same warranty online for half the costs. I guess Dodge knows their trucks are not that great and don't have enough loaners to go around. No truck should have this many troubles in just 70k miles. This truck has never pulled anyhting, dosen't even have a receiver hitch, and 80% of the miles are highway miles. I can't wait to unload it!! Similar Products Used: Chevy and Ford |

I leave the keys in it all the time and no one will take it!Paint is thinner than tissue paper. Let's start off by saying never to listen to a car salesman! My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 reg cab has had replaced, the following parts:all 4 valve stems,I had 250 miles on this truck and came out to find 2 flat tires, pass side power window switch, cassette player, shifter linkage TWICE due to Pompey Dodges' incompetence, drivers side heated mirror, had to have timing adjusted to compensate engine pinging sound, had to have timing adjusted AGAIN to compensate for truck stalling every time I stopped.sales man at POMPEY DODGE told us we could have loaner car anytime we needed one, since we live an hour away we made sure to ask about this, turns out the sales man was fired for telling customers they could have loaner cars.I WANT MY 87 JEEP GRAND WAGONEER BACK!!!!!!!! Dodge Pickup
Strength:
My husband loved every part of this pickup.
Weakness:
Driver side air bag did not deploy This pickup was bought by the company my husband worked for. He loved his dodge pickup, although he did use it really hard, mostly off road, in the oilfields of northwestern Colorado, it was a very wonderful pickup. He never had any complaints of this pickup. But i am sad to say, that we buried my husband 2 days ago, he feel asleep at the wheel coming home from work late one evening, and ran off the road into a revine. The truck was totaled. My husband did manage to crawl out the drives side window, and crawl to the road (the truck was not visiable from the road) he did make it tot he hospital where he knew everyone there, they flew him to a larger hospital for CT scans and what not. He did die aprox. 12 hours after the accident from a small tear in his aorta, which he bleed out from. My only complint from this truck was that the passanger side air bag deployed, but the driver side DID NOT DEPLOY. We asked at the hospital if it had deployed, would he have lived, we were told that it would have saved his life. Please Please, everyone have you air bags checked to make sure they are working properly!!!! Similar Products Used: Chevy pickups. |

Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab SLT Sport 4x4
Strength:
Solid feel, responsive steering, and great amenities
Weakness:
Having only put 12,000 miles on it so far, I don't have a real good feel for how long stuff is lasting. I'll post stuff as it comes. I purchased this truck from the BLM (bureau of land management) about 6 months ago. It's an automatic with the 5.2 V8. It had 80,000 miles on it and had been used off-road extensively. So far, the first six months have been a bit rocky. I had to replace the tires, shocks, cap and rotor, plugs and wires, and misc. bulbs. (By the way, anyone trying to replace the cap and rotor on your own...have fun! Nightmare! It took me 3 hours! Just for reference, I replaced cap/rotor/plugs/wires in my Jetta...took me 30 minutes.) The drivers seat was mashed out, so I had it rebuilt. Also, the horn did not work, and the seatbelt module that makes the seatbelts lock up was bad which made both front seatbelts click constantly. Practically drove me nuts! Had them both fixed for small sum of $380 (yah right!). I had the tranny serviced, and they found lots of junk in the bottom of the pan, and was told it will have to be rebuilt soon. It has the same problem many others have mentioned. When it's in OD, the truck has no power below 70 mph. Between 45-60 mph it feels like the truck's about to stall, and it does not kick down unless you press down the gas quite a ways. Minor problems include: Radio fades in and out. It goes from sounding fantastic, to sounding like it came out of something from 20 years ago. No big deal though. Driver's side window chatters when rolled down. No big deal as well. Despite the above problems (admittedly many were due to the rough use), I'm now quite happy with my purchase. Even with all the repairs, I'm still well below blue book value. It drives smooth and it's comfortable. It now has 92,000 miles on it. I'll write more as things occur. Ram 1500 Quad 4x4 Sport
Strength:
The looks of the truck and the styling. The power of the 360 is very good, just don't start too fast on wet pavement, it looses traction very fast. The interior room is very good for the family.
Weakness:
The brakes, the motor, the milage. We bought this truck new in Sept. 99. The looks and interior room was the reason for the selection. The ride is comfortable and drives more like a car than a truck. I really can not recommend buying a truck like this until Dodge does something with the brakes. I have had so much trouble and still can't find any recall notices about the sorry brakes. At 4000 miles the brakes locked up on the interstate and overheated everything. No problem was found. 6000 miles and the brakes made a squeeling noise. Nothing could be found, "all metal brakes will squeel amnd make noises". Brake noise everytime the brakes were used. 15,000 miles right rotor was turned due to pulling to the left. Dealer told that brakes wear out at 12 to 15,000 miles. Looked at them and they were ok. 34,000 miles blew head gasket on interstate 6 hours from home. Bad day..Only good thing was the dealer repaired it in only 10 days. Brake problem came back and dealer worked on them and replaced brakes and rotors. Rotors only lasted 35,000 miles. Something has to be wrong. Took truck back to daler 4 more times and each time they kept doing some cutting or something to the brakes until they stopped making the noise, now remember I had it at the dealer to fix the noise but the parts they put on just made the noise worst. They finally cut enough off the new parts so they stopped the noise. Also replaced the power stearing pump during this time. If anyone else knows why the brakes are so bad I would like to know. My dealer does not or is not saying, the last 4 trips to the shop were free. Similar Products Used: Dodge trucks, Chevy trucks. |

POWER RAM
Strength:
It's power- the truck is very powerful, I have been in alot of trucks that had soupped up motors so I was not expecting to be mis-thrown by the 318's ability to impress me. nice comfortable ride(stock). cabin space, 8 foot bed.
Weakness:
steering has alot of play in it, 3 inches to the right and 2 to the left this maybe from the amount of miles on the truck. Rear end yoke u-joint is tricky to find and replace due to what reason I have no clue- still trying to find the one the properly fits the truck 4x4 and this info I have yet to find. the one ordered for the truck when I needed to replace it was to big, and the ones from previous years are to small *Shrugs his shoulders*- put the old one back in! The truck has 139,000 miles on the original engine. a/c still blows cold as ice. handling is very good with normal riding tires and suspension. has a 5.2L v-8 and is very powerful. only the starter has been replaced in the whole trucks history. Looks cool
Weakness:
read my review This 1995 dodge ram 3500 dually heavy duty truck has had at least 10 factory recalls. I waited 4 months for the truck to be built and delivered, since than this heavy duty truck that i have treated as if it was a new born baby, never seen a salted street, never been off road , never pulled or pushed anything but its own weight..Replaced: windsheid wiper motor, door latch, window regulator, tailgate hinge, both door hinges,6 dry rotted tires after 2 years, rear axle bearings, transmisson at 22,400 and the paint peeled after 4 years.chrysler did nothing for me with any of these problems but they did treat me as if i was dirt, and the dealer says that the chrome tailpipe that i put on voids the warranty.oh ya,, and when the dealer had my truck in for a recall one time they pushed the top radiator hose under the shroud and the fan chopped a hole in it and they claim their tecnhical staff is not responsable. DO NOT BUY ANY CHRYSLER PRODUCTS.. Similar Products Used: 1990 jeep comanchee |

1 Ton diesel
Strength:
Good looking, tuff pulling work horse
Weakness:
anything else I could overlook but not a defect. Everything else is not even worth mentioning. Fact: Year''s 97-99 1-Ton diesel Dodge Trucks have defective overdrive. Overtime (usually after warranty''s out)around 60-80,000 miles the bolt in 5th gear backs out. Chrysler did begin replacing this defective little part at the end of ''99, only after all the other (defective)ones were depleted. This information came from a Chrysler service manager! Ask ANY Chrysler service mgr in ANY state and he''ll have to agree this is fact! My husband and I were headed out of town, pulling a 16 ft cargo trailor, in 5th gear, and it went into neutral. NO GEAR NO MORE. No warning. We parked it immediately. It had 84,000 miles on it. After relating the problem to a few friends who also had the same truck, they replied they also had experienced the same thing and knew others. After a few calls to 4 different dealerships we realized this was a DEFECT. Well, naive as I was I assumed Chrysler would just go ahead and take care of this little ol bolt thing, maybe even provide a loaner. Not only did they deny this to be a common defect but refused to acknowledge I was not the first to bring this to their attention. I''m talking about the Manufacturer, not dealership. I talked, begged, cried to every soul that could possibly be involved, did the arbitration and all, you see, it was OUT OF WARRANTY!!!!!! It will be out of warranty when this occurs! I''d sure like to hear from anyone else on this. They''re hoping time takes care of this I''m sure. It''s the principle. I don''t trust them anymore and would not EVER buy another, I don''t care how good they look! Similar Products Used: 97 Ford 1-Ton diesel. Still own it and runs like a champ! |
