transmission failed at 100 miles. then about every 6000 miles. now have 39000 miles with a total of seven failed transmissions!!!!!!!! three of the seven times trans shifted to first gear at 60 mph.

will NEVER by a dodge again!!!!!!!!!!

I Love the way my truck looks. I love sitting in the seat because it feels like I am in a chair instead of always having my legs fully extended. I Like the four doors as I have two teenage kids. And it's Purple and that is my favorit collor.

Every thing elce. I had to have the truck towed because the transmision went out under 20k and when I went to the dealer I found out that the guy that had the truck before me had the transmision rebuilt. Well they had to rebuild it again. And it has been slipping ever sence and the dealership says they can't duplicate the problem. That seams to be their famous last words. They tell me that about everything. It has pulled mostly to the left sence I bought it a year ago but every once in awhile it pulls to the right(just when I feel I have the pull figured out it pulls the other way). The paint is peeling off and they tried to tell me it was from me chiping it I told them to fix it. I have had both bumpers replaced twice and they ordered a new set again. My steering gear box has been leaking sence I bought it and they are now a year later replacing it but they don't know when they will have one. In the mean time I have to drive it as my sole means of transpertation with two kids and I am a single mom. I am scared to death that the steering will go out on me. I have a horrible ping and knock in the engine they have replaced the intake manafold gasket twice, the lifters, and now the heads and it hasen't gone away. The check engine light keeps comming on and they don't know why. I have had problems with it starting and had to call a tow truck three times and again the dealer said they can't duplicate the problem. But they put a new ignition coil and cable in it. While doing work to my engine they have damaged and crushed oil filters and once they put a crushed oil filter on my truck I know this because I change my own oil and I use a 10 dollar oil filter and they put a mopar one on it that was crushed and leaking. They said they didn't do it I had to use a screwdriver and puncture it to get it off my truck. The tires are the worst tires I have ever sean I got a flat in my drive way from a stone a small one the size of a nickle.The truck runs like crap and it is in the shop about 6 days out of every month I pay a 500 dollar a month payment and only drive it 3 weeks out of each month. I just filled out the papers for arbatration so we will see what happens next.

Don't ever buy a Chrysler Product. They BLANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I traded in a 1996 S10 Vortex and that was probably the best auto I have ever owened I wish my son did't grow because I had to have a biger one. I will never own a Dodge again and I will certanly never purchase one again as long as I live and I have already talked several people out of buying a Dodge and would not recommend one for anyone. It's no wonder Chrysler is having so many problems and can't keep their heads above water and had to sell out.

A good looking truck that can do hauling. Strong in 4x4 mode.

As gas reaches higher you get to see that it's a BIG PIG. The sticker said 12 city 17 highway. I still have paper work in the glove box. In the real world it's 9 city and 13 highway. Better with the wind behind but never 17. Worse going into wind 10.5 to 11. These are from the overhead trip computer.

This is the 1500 SLT Plus. All the goodies that would be on a better equipped car. Heated leather (in North Dakota it's a good thing) seats both front power also. Power Windows, Locks. I think it has everything except a moon roof (sun). I've had a Chevy and Ford before 2 Dodges. This last one is what I'm reviewing. My 96 Dodge Ram wasn't as bad.

Ok, I have a 98 Ram 1 Ton diesel, thats the most powerful truck i have ever owned. My dad has a welidng shop, an dew have used this truck to pull in SEMI TRAILERS. NO problems what so ever. Very strong truck.

Also have a 1999 Ram 1500 4x4. It is a very nice truck. Has lots of power and great off road capabilities. I went mudding in SOuth Dakota, and never got stuck. IT was terrible though. Bought fell off into a 30ft. ravine. Great truck though

They are just the best trucks you can get. More power than any other, and ill take that diesel and hook it up to any brand new chevy or Ford, and ill gaurantee that i will out pull them like nothing. The best trucks are DODGE!!!!

Overall a good buy, but mine came with the bad habit of not shifting out of first gear sometimes. I haven't done anything to it other than usual upkeep and yet the problem persists. The mechanics can't find anything worng with it. Anyone else have the same kind of problem?

Since it already had 108,000 miles I went ahead and tightened some bolts on the cummins and she seems to be doing fine.

My Brother had one, and I liked it so much that I went out and bought me one also. If you do not know about the cummins the engine will out last the body but other than that its a great truck and a fabulous engine hats off to Dodge. Do not buy this truck if you have to get your oil changed at the dealer because if you do not know how to change your own oil you shouldn't have a license or drive on any kind of road.
