1500 Dodge Ram club cab
Strength:
great looks, good power plant, spacious interior, nice riding
Weakness:
the dark paint color is hard to keep clean I have always like dodges, this is my first one. it had 62000 miles when i first bought and now has 63500 miles. the interior is fantastic, plenty of room for tall guys, i like the fold up back seat, gives me more space to put stuff. cloth interior is far nicer since i live in Alamogordo New Mexico, tends to get real hot. the AC works splendidly, have it on for 2 minutes and its cold and you are in paradise with the cold air. wish i had a hemi or the 5.9 liter V-8 but the 5.2 liter V-8 is splendid and reliable Similar Products Used: had a ford explorer |

Ram 1500 Hemi
Strength:
Hemi. The truck is a regular cab and is very fast. It has a nice burle to it which I like. It goes like stink from any gear and the tranny has no problem knowing when to downshift.
Weakness:
None. The mileage is about 11; but the spped factor has worn off yet so I drive with my foot in it most of the time. plus I fully expected to get 10-14 mpg so it's not really a negative for me. Well thought out interior. Well put together exterior. No rattles or squeeks. Handles better than my last Ford. Rides very nicely on the 17" Michelins. Similar Products Used: Father has a V6 1500 that I drove for a month why he was out of town. That convinced me to look at the Dodge. The Hemi availability made the decision easy. Last truck was a Ford F150. Only had it for |

1500, 94 1500, 03 1500 HEMI
Strength:
great looks, rugged reliable performance, and the 345hp HEMI takes it all to a new level. I can't wait until my wife starts collecting speeding tickets. (I drive the v6)
Weakness:
no Dodge trucks seem to get good gas mileage I've gotten 16-17mpg out of the two v6s and expect about 14-15mpg out of the HEMI both work specials had grey painted bumpers of which the rears showed rust way too soon but there hasn't been a spot of rust elswhere. also the 94 just developed a case of white paint peel on its roof which I'll have to have touched up. Have had 3 Rams, loved them all. Bought 96 3.9 ltr work special for $14k. the v6 was under powered for a 5,000lb truck but at 76,000 miles when traded only real trouble was AC evaporator started leaking at 60,000. missed having a truck and bought 94 3.9ltr work special with 100,000 miles on it used for $3500.00 it now has 125,000 and runs like new. v6 is still under powered but will pull 3 people, 500lbs of luggage, and a 2,000lb popup camper up and down hills though the missouri ozarks at 65mph. My wife likes a truck to drive too so we just bought an 03 1500 quad cab HEMI. Oh My God! I'm already saving for new tires because the 5.7 can eat them alive. It stops great with 4 wheel abs discs. It handles great with 17 inch rims and rack and pinion steering. it looks awsome (flame red) and it goes like hell. I like Dodge trucks well enough that both of my vehicles are Rams right now. I must admit though that I work at Daimler Chrysler's Saint Louis North Assembly plant where we build Dodge Rams. That is how I bought my trucks so cheap the 03 stickered at $29,000.00 but with $4k employee dicount $1k employee bonus $2500 rebate $500 trade in rebate and a $750 ex military rebate I paid just over $20k even being a Chryser employee though I wouldnt have 2 Rams in my driveway today if they hadnt performed for me. I've also had good luck with 2 out of 3 of the dealers I've dealt with. Dave Croft Motors and Metro dodge seem to treat me fine but I wouldn't pee on Mcginley dodge in Highland IL if the place was burning down. Similar Products Used: only other pickup was an old F100 which literally blew up at 125,000 miles I've owned 2 Dodge cars which did okay and unlike the trucks got great gas mileage |

Power,Looks,Plows snow very good.Ford and Chevy have got to get their heads out of their butt if they want to catch-up !
Weakness:
Stock tires, $34,000 and then have to spend another $800.00 so it would move in 4 inches of snow. I also do not care for the leather seats, never again on this option. Dodge does not seem to offer the below invoice and 0% financing like Ford and General motors. Where i work most of the guys drive Gm and Ford products for this reason. Overall a good truck but i am not used to the 3/4 ton ride as i have always owned 1/2 tons. I live in Maine and plow snow with it and i had to get rid of the stock tires the first week. As for the Hemi its got alot more power then the 5.3 318 i am used to, it just scares me to by something the first year out. Similar Products Used: 95 Dodge, 97 Dodge, 2001 Dodge ALL 4X4 EXT. CABS |

This is one bad-a!! truck. It's got plenty of hp, lot's of torque. It looks great and has a fantastic ride. It's a great compromise between truck and muscle car.
Weakness:
The standard interior is terrible, cloth seats have no bolster support at all for almost 30k Dodge could have put better standard seats. This truck is the 1500 Ram Quad Cab 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi, and 20" wheels. |
