Strength:
Super reliable! Great off road. Looks great too.
Weakness:
Stock radio blows. A little small interior (but I knew that going in) This is a final review of my truck. I am getting ready to get a new Tundra! I have owned this truck for 3 years now and It has been the best 4x4 I have ever owned. I am buying another Toyota, that says it all! Similar Products Used: Junk chevys. Somewhat junky Fords. |

Stylish looks, great V6 power. Very durable!
Weakness:
Some skweeks in the cab. Installed a throttle spacer and an intake pipe, along with exhaust. Helped increase gas miliage, and added about 13-17 horses. Similar Products Used: Nothing compares the to tacoma's power or looks. |

I fell in love with this truck the second I saw it! It looks great, runs great, and has a good ride to boot. it rides smooth and in these New England winters it handles great when in 4WD, over all this truck is very strong as well as somthing that I will have for a long time.
Weakness:
rear wheel drive on wet pavement, but this is true for all rear wheel drive vehicles. I have put many miles with me truck and it just never quits. I spend half the year in New Hampshire where we get lots of snow, and this truck just wont get stuck, it gets out of anything. The 3ft of snow that was dumped on us in one day...I got out in a 10 minutes after a little digging. handles great in the snow when in 4WD. I never worry about getting stuck with this baby! I can Highly recommend this truck over any other! Similar Products Used: 1999 Ford Ranger, 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab |

Tacoma X-Tra TRD SR5 V6
Strength:
This truck looks cool, definitely! The V6 is strong and smooth, and the manual transmission is a blast to drive. The 4WD system is great, providing good traction in snow and ice. The cabin is quiet, and handling on smooth roads is car-like. The high cabin gives a nice driving perspective, and long-distance trips are handled nicely.
Weakness:
When I first bought this truck, I had to go to the dealership THREE times to get the handling problem corrected. The first trip they balanced the tires (shouldn't this have been done prior to sale?!) and this produced marginal results. The second trip, I was told nothing was out of order, and I had to get the service manager to come for a ride with me to show him the pulling and shaking and ... you get the point. This time, the aligned the wheels (again, why wasn't this done before..?!). Unfortunately, some shaking was still present, but WOW, Toyota redeemed themselves and GAVE ME NEW MICHELIN TIRES to replace the stock Goodyears. This fixed the last handling problem. I also had a vibration problem in the dash over the passenger air bag (I see this is not uncommon) a few months into ownership, but this was fixed on my SECOND trip to the dealer when they spotted that the AIR BAG was loose! My interior dome light lens also had a tendency to fall, but that was replaced too. The truck behaves unruly on less than perfect roads, especially while cornering. I would recommend that if someone gets this truck, be sure you live close to a dealer because you'll be there quite a bit initially to iron out the bugs. Similar Products Used: I've driven full-sized trucks plenty of times, and they are usually smoother on roads, but worse off-road. |

Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4
Strength:
The power that comes from the V-6, sweet off road capabilities, reliability, good looks, pretty good gas milage for a truck 20-25mpg.
Weakness:
Has a slightly harsh ride, but if you want something that can go off road that's what you get. Best compact truck on the road. I paid 21,000 for mine and it's worth every pennie of it. everyone should test drive a tacoma before they make any bad decisions. Similar Products Used: Ranger- no power, no reliability, can't 4wheel. |

Strong motor, good lucks, quality build, capable 4x4.
Weakness:
dash rattle on passenger side. Great truck...in response to an earlier posting, I had an annoying dash rattle on the passenger side of my Tacoma. I also know another Tacoma Pre-runner owner who complained of the same thing. I took my hand and pushed down on the dash near the glass until I could feel what it was rattling against. I then pushed just a little harder in order to bend whatever it was down a bit so it wouldn't touch my dash. It's one of those things that if you took to a dealer, they wouldn't find...at least in my case, it didn't always make the rattle. Hope this helps...I have been rattle free ever since. Tacoma Double Cab
Strength:
Tough looking and riding truck. Nice styling, Toyota dependability. Great amount of backseat leg room.
Weakness:
A little narrow in the cab on driver's side. The side of my knee rests right on the contour of the arm rest. Ride is a little bouncy (have to expect that with a prerunner). Overall I love the Tacoma Prerunner Double Cab. Unfortunately, 6 days after I purchased the truck, some idiot rear ended me at approximately 40MPH. After 4 weeks, I got the truck back last week. The body shop did an excellent job repairing the damage, but will it ever be the same? I recommend this model Toyota to everyone wanting a truck. Similar Products Used: I owned a 1990 Toyota xtra cab for 10 years, the double cab makes it look like a toy. I considered and almost bought the Nissan Crew Cab, but after seeing the double cab, I feel in love with the Toyota (no regrets). |

Strength:
Yes! power nice V6, looks good (wife says sexy),Have not gotten stuck once. Nice stereo sounds good for stock, good highway speed with 4X4 on. Smooth ride for a truck and TRD 4X4, corners well for same (some roll not bad).
Weakness:
Gas milage sticker said 17 city 21 hiway have not seen it, more like 13/17. And no Clock. Why is this an option? Other than that nothing. Overall excelent truck. I have no complaints other than gas milage. Would tell anyone who is looking for a Sexy, fun and unstoppable truck, get a Toyota Tachoma (suggest Black for that sexy look. Similar Products Used: Test drove 2000 Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota, and Chevrolet S-10 simmilar options. Ford was doggy when locked in 4X4 (no HP on 3.0 V6), Dodge was too proud of thier price to deal, Chevrolet is a good truck but they need a bigger V6 for same HP of Toyota. |
