Nothing at all

Get one of these, you won't believe how hard they hit, it's absolutely unbelievable. I have the bass on my stereo set to 0 (it goes to 6), the amp isn't even powered from the AMP jack at the back of the stereo but instead off the rear speaker.... when i turn the stereo up the whole car starts vibrating and shaking... the guy at the place i got it from said if you've a big enough amp powered this thing you can risk breaking your windows :P

These things rock, get one, you won't be dissappointed.

The best subs I've ever owned. I purchase 2 Perfect 12.1's and connected them to a Phoenix Gold ZX800ti and got the type of boomaloom I was looking for. In fact I was so pleased I bought an entire Infiniti Perfect speaker system for my car(except the 6x9's which are Infiniti kappa 693.1i)and added the Phoenix Gold ZX475ti to run the front stage and now I'm bumpin like nobodies business. If you want true serious sound quality settle for nothing less than Infiniti Perfects.

Strength:

small compact air space and delives tight clean bass

Weakness:

The sub is great. for all you people out there blowing subs with your 200 and 300 watt amps it is not because of the amount of power. There is a thing called clipping it will blow any speaker no matter what the power rating. you are all proably cranking your gains and have no signal coming into the amp. clipping is dc voltage produced when the amp is pushed beyond its limits. next time give the things more power and have a pro set the gains on the amp. I gauantee they will never blow again.

Strength:

wow. i had my 12.1 in a sealed (1.15ft^3) box with a sony 300x1 amp. i was really disappointed. it could barely breathe. but then i got a 600x1 amp to push it. yeah, baby. SQ is superb and it sounds like i have 2 12's. the best part is that the old amp does great with my other speakers now, and the overall sound staging is great.

Weakness:

the rms rating is way off. i think infinity does that on purpose since they have a 3 year warranty so the speaker doesn't have to do any real work(for example: using 350wrms to power it) even though is certainly CAN...

highly recommended if you can dedicate about 600 watts to one speaker...otherwise, don't even think about getting one, because it won't sound good at all with the rms rating that infinity recommends.

Strength:

Very compact sub-box,.65 cft(sealed). Good looks. Great performance for a 10".Good clear documentation.

Weakness:

none-does everything infinity claimed

This review is for the 10 inch woofer not the 12. I wish i had room in my trunk for the Perfect12, but the cargo space in my 1993 Honda Prelude Si 4WS is only 8cft and this is my everyday car. That is the reason I decided on a ten inch sub requiring a small box. After looking at the specs and reading the reviews in this forum on Kicker, Alpine, Polk Momo and infinity. I chose the Kappa Perfect 10. I am running Harmon Kardon X-over,Alpine ParaMetric EQ, Harmon Kardon Amps,Audiobahn Cap, Infinity PERFECT 6.1 comps., and Infinity Beta Digital 100 Amp for this sub.It puts out 400w mono class D and is x-over at 80Hz. The sub woofer is in a custom .65cft box. Let me tell you this set up sounds great! people cant believe that this little box is putting out so much clean bass and I still have a usable trunk. This sub in this small sealed box needs at least 300 clean watts to sound impressive anything less and the bass really drops off.I am very satisfied with the speaker, just remember to feed it the power it needs. I have heard that this speaker sounds best in a band-pass encloser,If you have the space look into it.

I just got my 2 Perfect 12's installed today. Powered by a JBL BP1200.1. Man do they pound like hell. Everyone looks and me when I'm driving by. I was outside bumping infront of my house and my dad was in the kitchen and he said it was shaking the windows! The kitchen is in the back of the house. Damn they are great. They will be even better then I get everything tuned perfect!

Weakness:

none so far

Paid $350 for two. www.soundsthatpound.com call the guy up. Great guy to deal with.

This sub plays very deep and clear. It looks great. Doesn't require a lot of power to sound good.

Weakness:

I paid $300 from crutchfield and got a free box with it. Along with this I purchiced an infinity beta digital 100 amp. This amp produces 400 watts RMS and looks very pretty. This replaced my 2 pioneer 10" subs and pyramid amp. This is much louder, deeper, and clearer. I would recommend this to anyone. Many people have come up to my car and looked in the hatch and said Holy Sh*t you only have 1 sub in there.

Strength:

DEEEEEEEP BASS !!! This sub goes deep. Put in custom sealed enclosure and give it 300+ watts rms (from a quality amp- phoenix gold, xtant, lesser- jbl mono-power, excelon, even fosgate sound nice) and it pounds! These subs take up to 1400 w peak! Great Sound Quality.

Weakness:

Don't use cheap amp or less than 200 watts. No dvc.

I highly recommend this sub. Sounds awesome IF and ONLY IF you've got he right type and size of box, professional install (if you don't know everything- don't do it). I have seen the price range from 160 to 280 (crutchfield includes free box) on the 10.1 and up to 300 on the 12.1 (again w/ crutchfield).

Shop around- crutchfield has the best customer service and they're the only online authorized infinity dealer (as of 10/1/00). Remember- authorized dealer who installs means you still have full warranty.
Listen to friends' rides / systems, store setups.

Those who say this sub sucks (and compares it to the likes of thump or jenson or something) hooked it up themselves or had a crappy install done.
In seattle area- dont go to c@rtoy$ for installation. Buying ok, but I know too many bad experiences w/ them, myself included.

Who should buy it? Anyone who can afford it sub/ box / amp / install = $800 for my setup 1 x 12.1 in custom sealed box powered by phoenix gold xs2300. I like Eclipses too, but $400 for a 12" plus you need more power- but they sound nice.

The perfect is deep clean bass for whatever you listen to- me its Christian ska. Placed in a sealed box- very tight (to keep up w/ the music)less efficient but extended deep bass. Ported- more efficient. BandPass- very efficient but place fosgates in here not perfects. Overall this sub rocks.

Strength:

Everything you wished for, from requiring only 1.00 cubic ft. for a sealed enclosure for those with limited space, unlike those damn mtx thunder subs that need 1.25 cubic ft. To the low end, and dang 1400 watts! Just saying 1400 watts handling makes me so proud to own one of these.

Weakness:

Large motor structure, but it had better have a large motor structure. Could be a problem for people who can't pay for or build their own custom box.

I gotta say, this sub is the best sub i have ever heard in awhile, especially for the price. you want thump, this sub's got it. you want gobs of low end, this sub's got it. you want something that looks awesome, this sub's got it. i love this thing, and costing me 190 off of ebay, this thing was a steal.
