Strength:

It hurt's. I was very sceptical about spending the money for my two 8815's because I don't listen to rap very often. I listen to heavy and hard rock as well as alternative. I thought when my installer was talking me into this I was going to get nothing but boom. Boy was I wrong!!! They hit very hard no matter what I put in. I am so happy I believed they guy who talked me into them insted of the 8810's or 8812's.

Weakness:

Dent very easy when they blow off your rear speaker covers and bounce around. My fault!!!!!

With out a doubt if you have the money and the watt's to push them you are a fool not to try them!

Strength:

Generally flat bass response with a respectable low frequency extension

Weakness:

The weight

The 8812DVC has a somewhat rippled response between 40hz and 90hz. From 40hz extending down, it goes basically flat and quite deep. The only sub that I've heard with a lower, flatter extension is the Magma 12. I was a fair bit uneasy with the idea of a metal cone and the possibility of an audible resonance, but I haven't noticed any. Also, I've listened to this sub with 500 watts (Memphis 500d) and with 100 watts (PPI PC2100.2). Although it is louder with more power, the frequency response remains the same. In other words, the sound of the sub doesn't suffer if it doesn't get a ton of wattage. It has a better sound than any of the cheaper subs I've listened to that sell at about $100.00 so the extra money you have to dump into these subs can be heard (louder AND deeper bass). If you're planning to buy a sub for around $350.00, this is a definite top choice. I would recommend one of these subs over two of the less expensive models.

Strength:

NOTHING, maybe looks.

Weakness:

EVERYTHING I haven't had anything sound this bad with 3 Rockford Fosgate 1100a2 Amps in my life. They also dent far too easy.

At this price I would definitly not recommend it. Who knows maybe I got a dud (well four of them), but this was brand new and they sounds really bad. I wired them myself originally and it sounded bad...I went to have them professionally wired and they still sound just as bad. These just plain aren't worth it. I would go with Infinity Kappa Perfect 12's any day over these.

i bought this off a friends friend for a hundred bucks and it sounds like a piece of crap. my bass tube sounded better. with my bass tube it was self amped and this one isnt which is stupid. for the price it should be self amplified like the bass tube. go with a bass tube and save money

Strength:

This sub can be put in any enclosure and sound great. I have two of them in 7th order bandpass box. An earthquake 200dhc pushing them to 151.5db's. You just can't beat that.

Weakness:

The only thing I don't like about them is the. Ya right! Nothing!

I paid 259.00 for each. I would recommed you buy these and get a professional installer to build the box. I built my own and it sounds great, but it took some time just to plan. Once I finaly got the right measurements for my car and figured out how I was going to fit them in I was faily pissed off. If your looking for a place to find the best enclosure for these check out www.eclispe-car.com. Check these subs out if you haven't already.

Strength:

Powerful, Powerful, and even more Powerful. These subs are the true lean mean bass making machines.

Weakness:

Weaknesses? These subs don't know what a weakness is!!!

First, i just want to say about those people who wrote negative stuff about these subs: I know that if you wrote something negative about this sub, that you have never heard it, or you are just jealous because you don't have one. I paid $370(new) for one and $150 the other(used), even though old one had a damaged cone because of accident, it still hit as good as the brand new one did. You cannot get a better sound out of any other sub. Feed this subs lot's of power, and they will ask for more, more you feed 'em , louder they get. If you want a true bass making machine, and want a %100 competition sub, this is the one.

Strength:

They pound hardest of all of my friends subs.

Weakness:

first thing that goes is your hearing. not the speakers

I put two eclipse 12" 8600 8ohem in the back of my Jeep Wrangler and two 6 1/2" in the sound bar and two 4 by 6 in the dash. i have a planet audio four channel tube amp. That combination is the best i have ever heard. I paid 150 a peice for the subs with a free sub box. I sealed the box with sealent, and put cotten on the inside. Those things pound hard! they are the cleanest, hardest hitting subs i have ever heard. I Really recommend these subs to ANYONE! they are great!

So if you are looking for some hard, clean hitting subs these i recommend for you.

Strength:

Stunning good looks, nothing else compares in any way

Weakness:

The cones on the aluminum drivers WILL dent if you hit them hard, so be careful

First off, I use this sub in a 2cuft sealed box- big for this driver, but gives me lots of deep bass and lots of control. I use it in my home, cause' I build my own speakers. I have used everything you can think of, this is simply THE MOST incredible bass driver ever created. Your hearing will give out LONG before the sub does, BUT, these things really need (the 15") a good 7 or 800 watts to really show you what they can do. Sound QUALITY?? Let's just say that this is the only sub I know of that blends SEAMLESSLY with my Dynaudio speakers, which are worth about $7000/pr. NO other sub I've heard could ever keep up with them. As for construction quality, I feel confident that I can drop a nuclear weapon on it, and it would survive with only a dent in the cone. THE CONE DOES DENT!! It doesn't happen very easily, but it can happen if you hit it real hard, so don't. Anyway, this is truly the absolute best bass driver I know of, it is also the FASTEST bass driver I have ever heard- blows away those Velodyne's. Bass reproduction is absolutely flawless. If you want a sub that will make your ears bleed, AND make you hear what was REALLY recorded in your music (you WILL go through you entire collection- I'd bet anything you never knew what bass REALLY sounds like) this is for you. BTW, the beast ways 30lbs. Use a lot of bracing in you box, you're going to need it. The value rating is so high because to me, the accuracy of this driver alone is worth triple what I paid for the driver- $375
