Strength:

hits hard enough for competition. great low end and can run a lot of power through it. i have only 300 watts max running through mine and hits hard enough to rattle neighbors windows. i cant wait to save some money for a more powerful amp.

Weakness:

a little pricey but that is expected for perfection. my right ear and the right side of my back hurts because i have a small s-10 truck and the speaker sits right next to me.

only get this speaker if you are serious about your car sounding good. it is fun to play with and it gets the chics.

Very durable, loud and deep bass, cool looking subs. Makes my friends subs sound like crap. Lets the Neighbors know that I'm home. Huuuuge Magnet!

Weakness:

What Weaknesses?

These subs are Great! I purchased (2)-12" 8000's which are being powered by a Alpine-T757 Amp. Since these subs use lots of power I'm using a Cap. I have heard lots of subs and Mtx just has what I like. They are extremely loud since I put them in my Toyota 4Runner. My friends are very jealous. I'm very happy with Mtx because they used a 102 ounce magnet and a four layer voice coil. Also, the RMS of one sub is 400 Watts. This means great power handling and extremely loud and deep bass. These subs are great for anyone who wants to add a little more bass to their system or for someone who is an extreme bass addict. Mtx Rules!

Strength:

Good power handling, awesome backside appearance, low dollar investment

Weakness:

Takes lots of power to push, seem like mid-bass is muffled a little.

Seems to handle power pretty well although it needs aplenty to get it to move.Am running an MTX 4120 (425watts@4 ohm mono)and it really hits my alternator harder. Not whole lot better than my Fosgate, but almost half price!I live 15 miles from the factory that makes these subs, so deals are easy to come by.Excellent value for the money.

The 102 oz magnet, Makes my car shake, Annoys old people

Weakness:

None that I know of

I have 2, 12" 8000s in a sealed box in the trunk and these subs will really pound. I currently have only 200 watts RMS going to each and they still shake my entire car at about 1/4 of the way turned up. These subs sound good at loud, head turning levels or normal music listening levels. If you plan on getting MTX subs I highly recomend the 8000s over the 6000s if you have the money for it. There is a huge diffrence. I love these subs and I plan on getting 2 more soon (8000s of course).

Tight Bass, nice looks

Weakness:

did not last!!

Bought it(12" 8000) and hooked it up to a MTX Thunder 302(425 watts)...This sub claimed to handle 1000 Watts..I blew the sub out in less than a few months...i feel this sub sounded good but was not meant to handle loud music and was not very durable. I wetn back and exchanged it for two 10" Xtant subs..come with 3 yr warranty..much louder too same amp..

Strength:

looks, plays loud, nice SQ, cant be blown if given the right amount of wattage...

Weakness:

needs tons of power...

i have 2 12inch mtx8000 powered by a mtx81000d...each sub is receiving over 600 watts rms. most common blown subs are caused by under powering them... and i promise u that if u give less than 400 watts rms to a single mtx8000 sub, it will blow! put over 600 watts rms and u wont be disppointed. i tested these sub with a cd (bass mekanik) for over 50 minutes, with the gain all the way up on the mtx81000d... and these subs handle it with no problem. i have it install in a mercedes benz E320, and with the gas tank behind the rear seat... i still manage to get big amount of bass. im planing to get 2 more mtx8000 and 1 more mtx81000d amp. =D

Strength:

Sound very good, look cool

Weakness:

very fragile

bought a pair of 10" subs on sale and put them in a small sealed box(as suggested by MTX) and have had nothing but problems. First time the surround on one of the subs ripped, and the 2nd time the voice coil melted on the other. They sound great...for very brief periods. Hit low and accurately, good luck gettin em to last though

Similar Products Used:

louder and better sounding than RF Punch and Kicker subs, but doesnt last
