Strength:

hits hard, very nice deep bass...pics up very good low bass.

Weakness:

need a strong head unit with good pre amp out put to really get the full benefits of these subs.

I have 2 MTX 8000 series 12" woofers hooked up to an MTX 500D amp, these subs hit very hard, the only thing that really needs to be done is leave the freq. around 60, i put mine up to 100 on em' and blew one out, also to get the full potential of these subs you need a good head unit with strong pre amp outputs, i have a panasonic preamp out put with 1.8 volts and it hits, but not to it's full potential, my friend has a head unit with 4.0 volts pre amp and it hits so much more. So if you're gonna get this set up, make sure you have a good deck.

Strength:

Everything, this sub hits extremely hard if you put alot of power into it. if you think you can run a jensen amp on this your wrong, 400 watts of clean power will rattle screws out.

Weakness:

its only weakness is when it hits its hardest you will ruin your hearing and anybody elses in a 10block radius.

i paid 259 a piece, and i would recommend these to anybody who wants to go deaf really shortly.

Strength:

These subs are great, best ones I've had yet. I've always used MTX subs and I've always had good luck with them.

Weakness:

Loss of hearing in both ears

I paid $225 for a pair of 12's at Ultra Auto Sounds in chicago. If you go to circuit city, you're gonna pay a lot more for them but they'd be worth it. I have a Punch 800 running 2 of them in a sealed box and they're great.

They kick ass. smooth tight bass

Weakness:

none

This sub rocks, and all jl products are crap. and the perfects sound good but suck at spl. They are smooth bass but really suck a spl. And whoever says the sensitivity means anything in a sub is an idiot who knowsnothing about car fi. Sensitivity is a pointless little stat that shouldnt even be a factor in subs.

Strength:

They kick the snot out of any bodies subs at my school. Im only using a 800 watt amp to power all three of them, and they beat the crap out of them with no problem. They are so clean and clear, and I have a smaller car and I'm using mtx's Tri-sub Enclosure, and it fits in my car perfectly and still leaves me with a trunk.

Weakness:

nothing, just be prepared to be pulled over by the cops if they have noise restrictions were u live, I've been pulled over three times.

I paid $400 for them at Circtuit City, and it was the best investment I've ever put into my car. If you are a first time buyer for subs, i would stongly suggest that you look toward a mtx product. They were my fist subs, and i just bought two mtx 8000 12' subs from crutchfeild, so i will defenitly be back on here to report about them

Strength:

VERY loud, very deep.

Weakness:

Has a funny sound when listening to them with the sub facing you, turned back they sound great.

I have to say these subs kick ass, I have them powered by 3 JBL BP 1200.1 amps(1050 watts rms@ 12v and 1350 watts rms@14.4v) and they POUND! My glass flexes along with the body of the car. Loudest set up in my area. Great sub. I blew four in the first week but thats my falt, I am pushing way to much power to them. My second set is working fine.

Strength:

They handle lots of power hit extrelmy hard. Sounds better than most subs
I have heard in a while, including JL,Punch DVC, and any
other sub that feels they are any competition.

Weakness:

Its nothing really not to like about this sub.

I paid 728.45 for 3 10 inch 8000 subs not bad being they are compotetion
subs. You would pay more for two orion HCCA 8 inch subs. These subs have great quality and sound Im hittin a 150.3 now with a MMATTS 1200 watt amp.
I would definitley recommend it to anyone lookin for deep bass.

Tried Fosgates DVCs. Had two 6000 12s hit a 138.9 with only

Strength:

loud and punchy

Weakness:

does not hit lower notes very well at all.

I have an old polk db 12" sub and that sounds a whole lot better than the mtx does, even with the dust cap on my polk being blown out a month ago. I wouldn't recommend this sub to anyone that would want a clean sounding system with clarity. By the way, I returned the subs a week after I'd bought them. I'm going to buy a pair of JL W3's instead.

Model Reviewed: 2000 Thunder 8000 15"

Strength:

Handles low, mid, and high bass perfectly. No distortion, very Efficient, and looks great.

Weakness:

Nothing that a real serious music listener could ever find, tickets, and ringing in the ears when cranked.

These are great subs! I paid $425 for a pair of 15"s, they blow Kappa Perfects away no problem. Had a pair of 12" Kappa Perfects and one of them blew out after two weeks with a 300 Watt amp, The MTX 8000s Sounded great with this little amp, but shortly after I got the 8000s I got a 2200 watt amp to power the subs, talk about bass and I have more than enough power left over for more subs. With these subs people turn heads, I've received two tickets and won many Competitions with these that paid for the tickets and have given me some extra cash. For the price they cost and the Quality they are these are a must.
