Apex N1 Series Cat back Exhaust Systems

Apex N1 Series Cat back Exhaust Systems

DESCRIPTION

The N-1 exhaust pipes aim for the straightest possible line with the least number of pipe bends. This allows exhaust gases to pass smoothly through the piping. The exhaust system canister is made of a rugged SUS 304 Stainless steel and features a 115 mm tail. The canister projects from the car at an angle which also contributes to smooth flowing exhaust. Because all of the exhausts are straight through design, throttle response and horsepower levels are improved. The N-1 Series Exhaust is available for the Neon, Civic, Prelude, Integra, RX-7, Eclipse, 240 SX, Impreza, Supra, MR-2 and Golf GTi.

Weakness:

The rear of the muffler hangs alittle low to the ground and if your car is dropped more than an inch and a half then it may scrape.

The N1 system is great, I have had it for over a year now and it looks as good as the day I bought it. I love the sound and the looks of it.

Sound, looks, quality. Came with a silencer too to make it really quiet.

Weakness:

Off centered at first

The build quality of this exhaust is superb, with very good welding. The fitment for the Celica was a little off centered, but easily fixed with either new rubber hangars or sticking small rocks into the holes to widen it a bit. This is 2 mufflers: one main muffler (small though) and then the canister. Soundwise, it is very deep and can get pretty loud. But it is very very very nice and does not sound like the TRD exhuast at all. Performance, could feel more push at the 2nd cam crossover, but no dyno numbers.

Weakness:

It is very "ricey". Hangs too low. Everyone has this exhaust.

The exhaust is pretty nice is has added noticable power. It is an attractive jspec angled exhaust.

My friend has the Hayame Stainless Steel catback and his is much deeper in tone and doesn''t have that tin can sound. I would go with the Hayame instead if I could do it over.

SO far the extra hp without being loud. The exhaust just looks great. Also, i''ve noticed a decrease in turbo lag which it really makes a difference in responsiveness.

Weakness:

none so far

I just got the N1 installed on my GSX and the first thing I''ve noticed is the increase in hp and quicker response. Turbo lag was decreased a bit and the extra punch it gets after 2500rpm is awesome. The look of the muffler is just great besides the fact that it looks intimidating. Before i got this system i was concerned about being too loud because i wanted something that would add extra power without the typical obnoxious noise. ONce i drove the car, i realized that the system was just a bit louder than the stock exhaust(with the silencer on). I haven''t drive the car without the silencer yet but according to some friends it does get louder so I may keep it there.

HKS are ok. but I think the N1 is definitely better in quality and performance.

Strength:

Beautifull welds on the canister and its polished. Nice sound thats not too loud. More power and the tip is 4.5", no huge 5-6" ricer tip.

Weakness:

Piping is not SS, only the canister. You lose a bit of low end torque, but its minimal. Still can''t beleive I spent that much $$ on a bunch of metal, haha.

This catback is awesome, its welds are impeccable and the sound is oh so good. It sounds a little bit louder than stock at idle and while at normal cruise, but go WOT or when decelerating it is loud, but definetly not obnoxious. On the highway there is absoulutely not droning or resonance. I''d say the sound is low and deep and not too loud, perfect for my needs. I got more power out of it too as expected, maybe 10HP would be my seat of the pants guess.

banging underneath car!

i love it if i can just get the thing to stop rattling! i have been back three times to have it fixed. it makes this constant banging noise when idleing. i guess the hangers just need adjusting. it kills the great tone of the exhaust though!!!

i love the way it looks, it sounds great, and the craftsmanship is excellent.

Weakness:

hangs a little too low, but thats because i''ve got it angled up and to the side, and because i''m dropped 3 1/2". so i got like 2 or so inches of ground clearance from the muffler, it scrapes everywhere but its cool, i still like it.

Looks great. Loud, i love it.

Sound is excellent. You can really feel it kick in after 3500rpm. Great ground clearence. Easy installation(did it at home!) Very mean looking. It really doesn''t attract alot of cops. On the freeway, it has a smooth sound to it, you can just feel your car flow!

Weakness:

BUY THIS SYSTEM! For all you eclipse owners!, this system is a must. Great sound, a bit loud when new, but when broken in, you DSM will sound like a smooth machine. If you have a 1 and 2g turbo eclipse, buy your products at Road Race Engineering. Service is great, great prices and delivery is very reliable!
