Strength:

BOTH WILL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

Weakness:

Maybe your car just sucks

Ok... Maybe you haven't heard of your spark isn't hot enough because witht the stock spark the gases are not igniting all the way so it is just heating up just part of the fuel/air ratio. So get an MSD ignition and it WILL improve...

Nothing works better than MSD IGNITION and VENOM 400 CONTROL MOD.

Strength:

The main strenght is ease of installation. The product can be installed in less than and hour.

Weakness:

I had a difficult time finding an appropriate place to locate the module and had a difficult time installing the red led through my firewall.

I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with a 2.5 liter 4 banger that needed some performance boost. I installed the Venom Python 400 control module and immediately received improved performance. I can't say I got 25% increase but I did get enough horsepower increase to now use 5th gear with my 32" tires. It's not a turbo charger but it does provide increased performance.

Similar Products Used:

I have also installed a PowerAid throttle body spacer. I think the combination with the Venom Python 400 provides a good performance increase on my 2.5 liter 4 cylinder.

$300 is a lot to pay for stickers

This thing does not seem to do anything. I have tried everything, even called the factory to make sure I had it hooked up correctly. Junk.

Quick and easy to install. Works as stated. Best $300 I've spent on it so far.

First things first... tbraiser--you're right, it does modify the signals sent to the ECU and "fools" your fuel system into using more fuel, which, in turn, means worse economy. You really thought that through, diddn't you? it seems, though, you have overlooked two plain and simple facts: 1) more fuel=more power. 2) in the quest for more power two things are sacrificed: economy, and durability. Adding a cold air intake will allow air remain more dense when it enters the cylinder, but it is not a huge difference. the reason you get more power by adding an intake is because your ECU recieves info that more air is entering and pumps more fuel. A REAL cold air intake will allow your engine to produce 6-10hp more. It still lowers your economy and will have a marginal effect on your engine's durability. Now, on to the turbo, now you're talking! I'll bet you can't wait to increase you're engine's output by 50-70%. I know I can't. I just thought you should know, if you plan on adding a turbo to and engine that wasn't origionally designed to have one, you'll be decreasing you engines durability by a percentage approximately equal to 1/4 of the percentage increase in hp. (75%hp gain 17.5% loss in life) Of course, you'd better add an intercooler and a blowoff valve to make the most use of the turbo. Don't get me wrong, I plan on purchasing a complete, pre-fab kit from ThomasKnightTurbos(R). This will set me back $3500.00 roughly, but the gains are enormous. Maybe I should think twice, since 300-500hp is bound to use quite a bit more fuel, not to mention drastically reduce the life of the block and all of it's internal parts. Take a basic class on the complexities of the internal combustion engine. Anything you do to boost power is going to cost fuel and durability. Before you go ranting about a product you know nothing about, it helps to know a little something about the basic subject matter. For everyone else: I purchased my Venom400 PCM two days ago. it took me about 45min outside in the dark. (very easy install) when I was done, I took a spin to see what difference it made. I noticed right away. Down low (1500-2500) has a slight increase in throttle response, but half to full throttle produces 3-4hp more. Mid to high rpm was much more drastic. My powerband dropped down to 3500rpm from 4250rpm and my "Seat-O-the-Pants Dynomometer" says no less than 17hp. Normal driving seems to not be affected, which is what Venom(R) advertised.

None - this thing is a gimmick. Don't buy it. Use common sense!

Weakness:

Everything - again, gimmick

Everyone, Use your heads; this product is a gimmick. It modifys the signals from your sensors to your computer so your computer thinks it's getting more air and delivers more fuel. More fuel = worse fuel economy, emissions and engine cleanliness (and ultimately life). Take the $300 that this thing would set you back and spend it on real mods (like exhaust and intake improvements, lightened flywheel and pulleys, bigger and better turbos, boost controllers, etc).

Strength:

15hp, smoking h22a's now...increases throttle response, and pushes u back in ur seat

Weakness:

the reason the switch is under the hood is because ur not supposed to turn it on or off when the engine is running, if it was in the interior of the car stupid people would flip it on and off. um, the only weakness i could say is it makes u wanna floor it wayyyyy more than usual...lol thats why ur gas mileage decreases.

um, i really dont know what you guys are talking about, i have had my venom for 8 months now, i hardly turn it off, (my engine has 140,000 miles on it) and it still runs like it just came from the dealership....and if u knew nething, u do want a little more rich a/f ratio, as supposed to a lean mixture. I would say it put on a good 15 hp on my prelude. I have an 94 auto si, with cai, headers, exhaust, pullies...i think its a great product, i even bought one for my gfs civic lol
