Iceman Intakes Intakes/Filters

Iceman Intakes Intakes/Filters

DESCRIPTION

The Iceman Cool Air System. From the time it was first introduced, the Iceman Cool Air System has generated a lot of interest both here and abroad, and much discussion relative to its merits. The Iceman Cool Air System delivers up to 66% more horsepower than our closest competitor. It brings you closer to 100% efficiency because it provides the coolest intake air and highest mass flow of any system on the market. It provides cooler air to your engine because it maintains the intake air almost at ambient temperatures throughout the system due to the material used. Crosslink polyethylene has the lowest thermal conductivity rating of any single-layered moldable material available on the market today.

Strength:

Improves all around performance, CARB E.O number, easy to install with simple tools and washable K&N filter.

Weakness:

Almost unusable bracket to hold intake pipe in place. You have to bend it a few times to get to fit right. I didn't even bother to use it. Might not be ideal for area that have a lot of snow or rainfall in the winter and early spring month. Not an issue if you're from the southern california or southern nevada.

This is hands down the most cost-effective upgrade you can make to your Neon. It's improved my 1/4 times on avg of .2 - .3 seconds and added about 2 mph. Works even better with a free-flow muffler on SOHC Neons. Had troble with bracket that hold intake in place due to engine vibes, but it's secure enough and Im not worried about not using the bracket. I purchased the Mopar Performance version of the product because it only comes in black (to match the outside of the car) and Mancini Racing had it in stock (it's the 1# upgrade for Neon owners since it came out about 3 years ago). Mancini Racing is great to work with and easy to order from. I would consider them for any of your Mopar Performance purchases.

This is probably the best intake on the market if it is setup in wetland mode. You could really feel the horse power kick-in in cold weathers or at night. Smooth sound and many cool colors to choose from.

Weakness:

Cost too damn much!

Buy it if you are looking for power and deep smooth throaty sound because every other intake in the market doesn't really increase much more horse power than your stock.

A little difficult to install if you've never done it before, REALLY difficult to install if you're like me and attempt it before reading directions. Acceleration is increased slightly, has a great sound and is an exellent compliment to my free flowing muffler.

Well, after having this intake used for 5 years as a dryland setup, I just decided to switch to wetlands yesterday for the hell of it. Still using originial filter that came with it 5 years ago--this thing SCREAMS in wetland. Noticable tone difference and pull. Normal VTEC kicks in at about 5000rpm's on older civics, 5500rpms on newer ones I beleive. At 4000, sounds like VTEC is already screaming, and when it hits 5000, it almost hurts my ears. I have an iceman wetland/apex'i dunk setup. When VTEC kicks at 5 thousand, prepare for a pull and a scream. You wont be disappointed with this one!

Weakness:

Instructions are weak, and installation is kind of a pain, but it is with any wetland instake installation. You have to take out the COMPLETE factory airbox, no matter which brand

Highly recommend this intake. Havent compared to much, but this is my first one I have had on the car, and havent seen a need to switch. 5 years old, never a problem, stock filter. DEFINATELY recommend wetlands setup though...at least if your not afraid of hydrolocking your engine. Just stay away from big puddles. A little water splash wont hurt, just dont think about practicing your recovery procedure from hydroplaning!

well, nothing on my civic. Friend has Weapon *R Cold Air intake on 99 Eclipse -- great sounding, little pull. Other friend has AEM Cold Air on '01 Integra GSR -- decent sound, good pull.

Strength:

Performance increase was noticeable through the entire RPM range. Sounds decent, not too loud at cruise.

Weakness:

Fit could have been better. The new kit no longer comes with the bracket that always breaks. Rubs the hood liner, you must remove the plastic piece that comes under the hood from the factory.

Took less than 1 hour to install, including changing the battery box. Need to make a few minor adjustments to fit correctly. The instructions are not accurate to the new kits, no brackets. For $165 its a good investment. There is still the issue of water intake due to its position under the car.

Design: Looks soo great inside the hood!
Performance: Gains in HP from 3000rpm all the way to 7000rpm
Deep sounding: Sounds like an aftermarket exhaust when at full throttle!

Weakness:

Price: Well. It's just an tube with an air filter!! For 300 bucks! OMG

If you have the money, this is the best intake for this car at this moments. Others like PHR are great but cause the check engine light to come on, so I really recommend it. Don't get the short ram, it's not worth the money

Great look!! Tight ass deep raspy tone. You can hear the air flow as soon as you touch the pedal. Increase in HP. Dyno pulled, 7.23 hp 9.57 tq gain after installed. Install took about 30min.

Weakness:

None yet but watch out for deep puddles. I have driven in hard rain and nothing happened but stay away from puddles...

I would recommend the Iceman Comp Intake only if you are a serious enthusiest. Don't buy one because your stock filter is dirty.

AEM Cold air.. Iceman is cheaper, lighter, colder. The AEM might last longer though because of it's material.

You gotta love the custom piping to the coldest air in the engine compartment. That's what makes ICEMAN one of few to make a real "cold air intake" The sound is great and increased higher RPM horsepower.

Weakness:

The stock filter isn't the greatest but it does the job, my piping runs at a 90 degree angle and could have been reduced to help air velocity.

Good intake, not too flashy. I love it. An assortment of colors to choose from for piping.

Strength:

it's plastic so it's lighter and doesn't get as hot as metal ones do. iceman includes a bracket to hold it to the trans case so it moves with the engine compared to a bracket in front of the battery tray that could wack up against the tube and/or slide the filter off on the end. also it's two pieces + the k&n filter so you can swivel it around if you want to position the filter lower.

Weakness:

mine is black with blue hoses. i'd rather it come with black hoses.

$175 yes i'd recommend it.

Similar Products Used:

i had the hotshot one before and i like the iceman better--it's lighter and cooler and includes the bracket that you need to keep it off of the upper radiator hose on a saturn.
