Strength:

price tread performance

Weakness:

none, considering the type of tire this is and the price

Right now as I am reviewing these tires, two new ones are being installed in the front. I have the 225/50-16 versions. The previous pair lasted 15k miles on my unmodified car. Except for several occasional street races, the tires were pretty well taken care of. These tires feel less precise than the stock Goodyears, but the dry traction is undeniable for the price. Wet traction is solid although not exceptional. These tires make my car a 3000 pound sled in the winter. Useless in snow, but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make. Road noise is not as exagerrated as most reviews say, although they are definately not quiet. Great value for the money.

Strength:

Good grip and seem to wear well.

Weakness:

Extremely loud and rough riding

I gotta get these off of my car. I had Michelin Pilots and loved them. Got these and they were GREAT for the first 5-10k miles and then it sounded like my wheel bearings went bad. They are so loud that I can barely stand it.

Strength:

Nice looking tire, average performance relative to others (Goodyear Gatorbacks) that I''ve had, long wearing for a performance tire. Inexpensive.

Weakness:

The sudden onset of noise is infuriating, now I have to replace them or lose my sanity.

I would never buy these tires again. At about 12,000 miles with half the tire''s wear life left, they started making a wa-wa-wa-wa sound that increases in volume and rate as speed increases. At 55 MPH the noise is deafening. The condition came on so suddenly, I was sure the noise was due to a mechanical problem. After complete inspection, it was determined that uneven wear was the culprit. There is no evidence to suggest that this wear problem is due to misalingment or bad struts.

Wet/dry traction, looks

Weakness:

noise, premature wear, uneven wear.

I bought these tires to replace Potenza RE91''s, mostly because of noise issues. At first, these tires were quite, but after about 8000 miles they started to "whine", and now at about 11000 miles, I can''t have a conversation in my car on the highway, they are VERY VERY LOUD and annoying. Performance wise, these are great tires (esp wet!), but the noise and premature/uneven wear (replaced 2 at only 18k)is simply unacceptable. I am returning 2 for a refund (I guess there are so many customer complaints, but no recall... yet) that they are refunding money for these tires. I would not recommend these tire unless performance in your only interest. R

Strength:

Quieter than Michelins, wet weather performance, holds road well. Treadwear is supposedly better than the stock Michelins.

Weakness:

Doesn''t feel as snappy as stock Michelins.

Switched from stock Michelins. Turn in is not as quick... seems less snappy. Feels almost as if the tire pivots on the sidewall whereas the Michelins rode up on it in turns.

Strength:

-Excellent wet/dry traction. -Excellent steering response. -Smooth ride. -Quiet before 10K

Weakness:

-After 10K these tires have become excessively noisy. Enough to give you a headache on a long drive!

These are great tires. They offer exceptional wet and dry performance. One of the reasons why I bought them was because of their excellent price to performance rating on tirerack.com. They also rated high in ride and low noise levels. They were very quite initially however BEWARE that after 10K they become VERY loud!!!! Because of this I will not recommend buying them. Even though I have plenty of tread life left I am thinking about replacing them because of the noise.

Strength:

Grip, Quiet (others have complained of noise, these are on an E36 chassis 325i (w/ sport package i.e. 225/50) BMW - perhaps the other complaints are due to lesser insulation on other cars or due to increased harshness from performance modifications (just a guess, but these are very quiet in my personal use on quite harsh Western PA roads), Wet Grip, good price relative to other high performance tires

Weakness:

Wore out quickly (~6500mi) - in fairness they were pushed extremely hard. I believe the treadwear on the 730s was about 330. I also have run the 940 Potenzas of 220 treadwear and got well over 10,000mi out of them, so the treadwear rating confuses me. I would assume the better rubber of the 730 encourages me to drive harder.

Absolutely the best value in an summer/high performance tire on the market. Compared to various grades of Dunlop Sport, Michelin Pilots, and other Potenzas. Wet grip is absolutely astounding - I used to hate driving high performance cars in the wet, these tires make it a simple task.

Strength:

-Great traction -Good steering response -Good value

Weakness:

-Rides significantly harder/louder than previous stockers. -Only got 13,000 on them before they wore out. Part of the problem was I dropped my Integra GSR and had some camber adjustment problems. The other is that I just drove them really hard.

Overall a pretty good performance tire. Dry traction is very good, as well as wet. Don''t even think about using these suckers in the snow/ice though.

Michelin XGT V4- much better all season performance but the dry traction was hideous. By switching to the 730s, I dropped my 60'' times from 2.41 to 2.28. I now ride on Toyo FZ4s- great tire- I''ll

Strength:

Truly excellent in the wet. Very good handling at high speed.

Weakness:

Do experiment with pressure to get the best out of them.

I''m comparing this tyre to Michelin SX GTs, at 185 55 R15 V rated, on a Punto HGT frontWD, 140 bhp. Right, I wanted a better wet weather tyre. I got them when it was dry and initially I thought the turn-in was slower and the tyre quite squishy in slow 2nd gear corners. The grip is certainly there but it did not feel as direct as the michelins. So I upped the pressure from 35 to 38 and it transformed the tyres'' dry low-speed handling. At high speeds, these tyres are superlative, wet or dry. VERY steady right up to 140. They are also consdierably quieter and more comfortable than the michelins, not that I really care about that. In the wet, the amount of grip in accceleration, braking and cornering is VERY impressive. I expected improvemnets becasue the michelin SX GTs are real summer tyres but this Bridgestone compound is something special. Also, I hear that they wear very well and I wasn''t unduly offended by their purchase price. So I seriously recommend them if you want a real driver''s tyre that won''t kill you in the wet.
