2000 Dodge Avenger Sport, original equipment
Strength:
Nice looking, even wearing tire. Keep them rotated and the proper air pressure in them and they are long wearing. Good traction, holds the road great in my Dodge at any speed.
Weakness:
None that I''ve found if used properly. I have had my car for two years and have rotated the tires every 6000 miles. They have just gone over 20,000 miles. I drive on a variety of road surfaces and have been very pleased with the tire. These aren''t racing tires and those that have used them as such really don''t know a whole lot about performance tires. For the family car and speeds less than 80 mph I think they are great. And for the guy that was doing 80 and had a low out on the freeway... The tire didn''t nearly kill you moron, you nearly killed yourself. 1997 Goodyear Eagle RS-A (215/50R-17) on Mitsu Eclipse GSX
Strength:
Inexpensive
Weakness:
The only weakness that matters is that it almost killed me. My car is a 97 Eclipse GSX turbo with the Goodyear Eagle RS-A (215/50R-17) tires and I do drive aggressively. However with about 10k miles on the right rear tire I had the inside sidewall completely seperate from the tread @80 mph on the expressway. Felt like I hit a patch of ice as the car got rearend squirly. I could have picked up some road debri which could have caused the failure but any tire that disintigrates this badly is one that I cannot recommend, ever. Also, tires are good in the snow when brand new but any wear and the are a nightmare. Same for wet weather. Dry weather these tires squeal like crazy, its embarrasing to take corners hard. 1997 Cadillac Seville STS
Strength:
I believe that many people are purchasing this tire for their performance, but are not matching the tire with the vehicle. These tires are great on my Cadillac STS in rain, snow, high speeds and cornering. I am very please with the tires and believe that they belong on large luxury vehicles, not the small speedsters.
Weakness:
None that I have found I have the Goodyear Eagle RSA, 225/60/16 tires on my Cadillac which are made for "touring" they are great on a car like mint that has the weight, tork and high horsepower that my STS has. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
They keep me from riding on my rims (I haven''t had a blow out yet ...on 36k miles).
Weakness:
This does not fit it''s use as an ''all season'' tire. They are not performance tires. They basically keep your car from riding on the rims. I drive very my car very aggressively and race AutoX. These tires are quite honestly, horrible. Perhaps on a pickup or SUV they would do fine, but if you want performance off these tires, forget it. Honestly, there are some times that I think rubber bands over the tire would give me better grip results. The tire breaks down under heat, cannot hold grip when wet, slips in turns (even when not driving aggressively), and should not even touch the rims of any performance vehicle. If you drive <45 mph and take turns under the speed limit (in dry weather conditions), this tire is for you. If you don''t mind losing grip on wet roads while going up a gradual hill, this tire is for you. If you really use the potential of your vehicle and enjoy driving, go out and buy something else! 1995 Lumina
Strength:
Fairly quiet, soft riding.
Weakness:
Very slow turn-in. Noisy in cornering. Not good in bad weather conditions. If you are looking for any performance out of this tire, forget it. Their Eagle GT+4 tire (predecessor) was a much better handler. In fact on my SHO, the GT+4 was the omly tire I felt comfortable using on the stock rims. That is in comparison to the Dunlop SP4000, Pirelli P4000 and Bridgestone Potenza. The reason was they had terrific turn-in and good grip. Their sidewalls were very rigid. The RS-A is not even close in sidewall rigidity, and the narrow treadblocks mean below average grip. It is amazing that Goodyear was able to get this tire onto so many performance cars, including my dad's Lumina (3.4 200hp V-6) and Mitsubishi Eclipses. The tire is ok for regular use, but for any performance at all, switch! Quickly!! Similar Products Used: Dunlop D60-A2 |

225/60/R16 - OEM on a 97 GTP
Strength:
None at all. The car had about 80,000km on it (48,000 miles) and they were about 30% tread left on it.
Weakness:
Ok dry traction, horrible wet traction, horrible snow traction. The RSA's don't even deserve a star. My experience was short lived. I was so disgusted with these tires that I bought new ones after driving 1 day in the snow and rain. I almost got in two accidents while test driving the car. The SH30's are a huge improvement in traction, and they handle the corners great. Check those tires out if you are running the RSA's now. had them on our 99' alero gls and now on our 2001. I guess it must depend on the car... have taken wet 35mph corners at 70+. These tires rock on this car.Traded in the 99 with 30,000 miles and minimal wear
Weakness:
not a cheap tire the 99-01 alero is rated at .84 g's lateral on the skidpad with these tires. this is good enough to qualify the alero gls as one of the top 40 performance cars in the world at $23,000 (per Edmunds). Similar Products Used: None |

Looks, Great speed rating, durability
Weakness:
Poor traction on all surfaces, Cost a lot from Goodyear Dealer Overall I've had these for 5,000 miles now. They perform badly in bad weather situations (especially snow). Live in Minnesota and though they were better than the last tires I purchased, they still didn't perform to their price tag. They've been durable, treadwear is normal to low. They have a high speed rating for comfortable highway driving. They look good on my rims (from the side). Unfortunately their main down side is cost. From an authorized dealer they wanted $225 for 225/60HR16. I still got them at an authorized dealer but they brought down the price after some haggling. Still paid too much. You can get them ordered from the tire rack and such places for 120 for the V speed rated in the same size. But overall I'm not dissappointed in them, just wish they were better for the money. Lousy road hazard warranty for OEM. The tire is fragile. Got a flat on the highway and pulled over right away but it was still too late. Replacement cost was outrageous. Last set of Goodyears for me. Bad value and bad warranty. Similar Products Used: None |

These Tires Grip the road in all conditions. Perhaps it depends on the car you drive but I have driven these in every condition fast very fast, certainly in the rain (I'm from Seattle), and when I've gone in the mountains for skiing the snow traction has been pretty good for large perfomace tires.
